REVISION 8: 01.02.2021

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX must be contained in locked 20 x 10 x 10 centimetres boxes made from 3 centimetres thick stainless steel and each box must be stored in separate standard secure storage lockers in Site-19, with each locker being positioned in another sector. The keys to the boxes are being held by Senior Researcher Urshenkov (the current lead researcher for SCP-XXXX) and the storage lockers must be locked by a standard key card and passcode combination lock, with access only being granted to the research staff working on SCP-XXXX. The storage lockers must be at least twenty (20) fifty (50) meters apart from each other and be reinforced with lead platings in order to prevent reduce long-term effects from influencing personnel. Personnel is to be rotated out so that no Personnel spends more than one-hundred-and-fifty (150) hours per month in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX instances.

Instances of SCP-XXXX are not to be brought closer than five (5) twenty (20) meters to each other, unless under controlled testing conditions authorised by the designated senior researcher and approved by the on-site Director of Research. No more than one (1) Subject is to be exposed to instances of SCP-XXXX at any time, unless overridden by the Site Director.

One Class-D subject is to be exposed to each instance of SCP-XXXX monthly to prevent unpredictable behaviour. Each instance has a specific day in the month designated for this:

  • SCP-XXXX-A: The third (3rd) of each month.
  • SCP-XXXX-B: The sixth (6th) of each month.
  • SCP-XXXX-C: The eleventh (11th) of each month.
  • SCP-XXXX-D: The twentieth (20th) of each month.
  • SCP-XXXX-E: The twenty-fourth (24) of each month.

Subjects influenced by SCP-XXXX-A (hereby designated SCP-XXXX-A-1-#) are to be interviewed under heavy guard, screened and then terminated following standard medium-risk termination procedures.

Subjects influenced by SCP-XXXX-B (hereby designated SCP-XXXX-B-1-#) are to be interviewed, screened and may be reintroduced to their previous positions or new positions that fit their new personality at the discretion of the Site Personnel Director once their target has been identified. It is highly recommended to prevent any interaction between the instances and their targets outside of cleared testing conditions.

Subjects influenced by SCP-XXXX-C (hereby designated SCP-XXXX-C-1-#) are to be interviewed, screened and may be reintroduced to their previous positions or new positions that fit their new personality at the discretion of the Site Personnel Director once their target has been identified. It is recommended to facilitate interaction between the instances and their targets.

Subjects influenced by SCP-XXXX-D (hereby designated SCP-XXXX-D-1-#) are to be interviewed, screened and may be reintroduced to their previous positions or new positions that fit their new personality at the discretion of the Site Personnel Director. Positions that include public work, security, containment or combat are discouraged, but positions involving social contact to other Foundation personnel are recommended.

Subjects influenced by SCP-XXXX-E (hereby designated SCP-XXXX-E-1-#) are to be interviewed, screened and may be reintroduced to their previous positions or new positions that fit their new personality by the discretion of the Site Personnel Director once their target has been identified. They are not to be allowed to interact with their target outside of cleared testing conditions. Positions involving social contact with other Foundation personnel are highly discouraged, but positions involving social manipulations are recommended.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the collective designation for five (5) arm watches. Material tests have shown the materials to be common polymers (High-density polyethylene for the watch case and Polyvinyl chloride for the wrist band). It has not been possible to analyse the interior of the watches, as all attempts to penetrate the casing further than 5 millimetres have failed. See Addendum 8746-1 for further information regarding attempts accomplish this.

Instances of SCP-XXXX emit a memetic effect, which grows stronger when nobody is exposed to them for a longer time or when they are close (less than ten (10) meters) to each other. This effect causes being of the species "Homo Sapiens" (Human) to want to wear the closest instance of SCP-XXXX. Unlike most memetic effects, the effect of SCP-8746 instances can be blocked similar to radiation. The hypothesis that the effect is based on radiation could not be proven. Instruments placed in the range of SCP-8746 instances are not able to pick up any more radiation than expected.

When a human subject wears an Instance of SCP-XXXX for longer than ten (10) seconds, said humans will have their personality replaced with a new one. The new personality depends on the Instance of SCP-XXXX worn by the subject.

All Instances except SCP-XXXX-D cause the affected beings to develop a feeling of deep love to a person they met in the past two years, hereby referred to as the target. It is currently unclear how this is decided and what is considered “met” and what is not. In 97.3% of all cases, the love interest was to a person that corresponded to the sexual orientation of the Instance. Previous love interests appear to be forgotten.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-A-1 appear generally shy and in most cases do not show many emotions. They can be highly manipulative, show psychopathic/sociopathic tendencies and have proven to develop strength significantly above what can be achieved by regular humans when they feel that their target is in danger. This often also includes simply seeing the target close to another person. They generally do whatever they think is necessary to locate their target. Simple weapons like knives or even pencils have proven to be very lethal weapons in the hands of SCP-XXXX-A-1 Instances.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-B-1 are generally very direct and sometimes even directly offending in nature, especially to the target. After prolonged contact to their target, they sometimes get friendly and shy towards them when alone with them.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-C-1 appear to be emotionless in most cases and only rarely show any emotions. They tend to act rather shy and stay out of social interactions. After prolonged contact with their target, they sometimes "open up" when alone with the target.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-D-1 are rather simple-minded and usually of a very happy and energetic nature. They have proven to not be saddened or angered for longer than four (4) minutes by any attempts to agitate them and are often described as “the cheerfullest type of person I have ever seen”. This comes with a lowered professionally and patience, as well as less strictness, which makes them unfit for certain positions.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-E-1 appear to be gentle and kind, but are highly manipulative and sadistic. Their main source of entertainment is to cause their target mental pain without it noticing that the Instance is responsible for this.

Addendum XXXX-1: Methods used in attempt to penetrate more than five (5) millimetres of the casings:

Method Instance Result
Standard material test tools SCP-XXXX-B Unsuccessful
5mm steel drill SCP-XXXX-A Unsuccessful
5mm hardened steel drill SCP-XXXX-C Unsuccessful
Industrial diamond cutters SCP-XXXX-E Unsuccessful
3000 W Industrial LASER cutter SCP-XXXX-D Unsuccessful
X-Ray radiation SCP-XXXX-C Unsuccessful
Gamma radiation SCP-XXXX-A Unsuccessful
Ultrasound SCP-XXXX-B Unsuccessful
Medium powered MASER SCP-XXXX-C Unsuccessful

All methods managed to penetrate exactly five (5) millimetres into the casings of the SCP Instances.
