Item #: SCP-████
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-████ is currently in containment at Site-██. D-Class personnel entering SCP-████'s cell must be accompanied by two guards in full hazmat suits and armed with flame throwers, reaching temperatures of up to 400°C, in case of emergency.
SCP-████ is to be kept in 2 x 2 x 2 m steel room, using no less than 50 cm of reinforced steel. The room is to be be surrounded by a layer of 80 cm thick foam insulation as to preserve the temperature, and a second layer of 15 cm thick reinforced steel should surround the insulation. This room is to be temperature and pressure controlled at all times, and secluded from any source of water liquid unless given permission by an O5.
Due to its parasitic nature, SCP-████ is to be kept away from all other biological life outside of testing procedures.
Description: SCP-████ most commonly takes the appearance of a large, serpent-like creature, and is composed of 80% water and 20% skeletal structure.
It's skeleton seems to be a collection of different substances, of which are a gelatin compound, solid carbon dioxide (dry ice), [REDACTED], and several unknown substances. It is crystalline in structure and is white in color, as if resembling dry ice or quartz. The skeleton is measured at 122 cm in length not including the 3 unattached vertebrae that extend when the creature absorbs liquids in its serpentine form.
SCP-████ is able to change its shape, size, and appearance based on how much and what form of liquid it absorbs. The entity's volume is indefinite as a result of this. It is also able to take the form of other living creatures, although it is still viewed as a translucent mass of water with an serpentine, crystalline skeletal structure inside. The entity's second most common form, given enough liquid, is that of a humanoid, but it is unable to communicate in this form because of the lack of a mouth and any form of vocal chords. How it moves newly formed extremities, such as arms and legs, created from it's liquid volume is currently unknown since the skeleton of SCP-████ does not extend into these new extremities.
Through various tests using multiple plant, animal, and D-Class subjects, it has been concluded that SCP-████ is also parasitic in nature. It is able to enter any biological subject and take control of its motor functions and brain. When entering the subject, its skeleton appears to "dissolve" into its own body. While in possession of the subject, it is able to communicate in the subject's known form of language (spoken or otherwise) and quickly learns how to operate its host. Once it leaves the host, it becomes inactive for a certain period of time, ranging anywhere from 1 hour to 30 days. During this "hibernation", the former host also falls into a comatose state, becoming unconscious for the same duration of time as SCP-████. Upon waking, the former host has no recollection of events shortly before or during the possession of its body and mind by SCP-████.
SCP-████ also has the ability to take on the properties of any liquid it comes in contact with. Although for its properties to match that of the liquid it is absorbing, the volume of said liquid must be equal or greater than the current volume of SCP-████ itself. The more the differences in volume increase, the more diluted the properties become. SCP-████ has been seen releasing some of its own initial volume in order to take on the properties of a new liquid. It is able to retain these properties until it separates itself from said liquid and is unable to be forcefully separated.
Document #████-Log01: Recorded transcript of conversation with SCP-████:
Subject D-578 enters containment cell, SCP-████ enters the subject.
— Dr. ██████: Hello ████, can you understand me?
— SCP-████: *inaudible*
— Dr. ██████: What was that?
— SCP-████: …learning…control…
— Dr. ██████: Take your time ████.
— SCP-████: …Where am I.
— Dr. ██████: You are currently in containment by the SCP Foundation. I am Dr. ██████.
— SCP-████: Don't… Care. What solar system?
— Dr. ██████: What do you mean ████?
— SCP-████: Life seems… unintelligent here.
SCP-████ exits host and both become unconscious. Interview terminated.
