Dr. Daddi walked into his office, it had been a long day. He was yet again out of coffee, but he couldn't be bothered to get more, what was the point. Dr. Heart was testing with SCP-682, dumb of her really. Everyone knows that he is unkillable. He loaded up the work on his computer, too much of it, it just kept coming, James do this, James do that, 'hey James can you file this report for me thanks.'. He'd had enough of it, he loaded up his email and sent half the work to Dr. Phoenix. He didn't mind Phoenix but he was sick to death of his laziniess. Maybe this would make him think twice before blowing off his tasks.
a couple hours later and Phoenix had already left the office, that just left Daddi alone, with the lights out, still working as always. The office door opened and he looked up to see the Site-19 Director in his doorway. "Hey Director what's up?" He asked, the Director approched Daddi, he didn't know if he was in trouble or if this was just a casual meeting. "Dr. James Daddi, 32 years old and currently the third youngest Level 4 staff member at the Foundation." he finally replied. "Yes that it me, is there anything I can do for you Director?", "most people with Level 4 clearance are a type of director or really important senior staff member, but you don't have a role like that do you James?" he replied quicky. He wasn't even adressing James' questions, "No you kind of just promoted me to an 04 but didn't promote me from senior stuff, just my clearance level, which was weird I will say. Wait are you here to demote me?" He was a little scared, he liked his 04 clearance and didn't want it taken away so soon. "No, I'm not going to demote you, I'm giving you a new role, you will no longer just be a researcher. You will be Assistant Director of Site-19." He revealed.
"Assistant Director?" James replied curiously, "but that isn't even a proper job, there are secritaries to the Directors, but an assistant?" he continued. "Not in the sense of an assistant, more like Vice Site Director. You'll be getting a bit more work, and less sleep, but it's one step closer to being an 05." He replied. The Director turned and started walking out of the office. He was stunned, Assistant Director. He might be the luckist man alive, only 12 years in and he was already the Assistant Director of the biggest site in the Foundation. He had so many questions to ask him, but before he could even leave his seat the site shook violently as the he heard a loud roar from the lower levels…
