Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All 192 samples of SCP-XXXX-A are to be stored in site XX's low-priority wing, climate controlled to 130F, request for testing.
Edit: Stored as individuals with 1 m distance between, redundancies added to climate control system.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous probabilistic phenomenon whereby informational entropy (how equally outcomes of a random event are observed) is converted into thermodynamic entropy (the amount of energy in a system). This manifests as a region of low temperature being raised to a higher temperature in conjunction with a nearby random event becoming more predictable.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a collection of 200 promotional travel mugs from the now-defunct startup, Aleph-Zaibatsu. These act as sites wherein SCP-XXXX skews nearby random events towards uneven outcome distributions while heating any liquid contained inside to roughly 55 degrees C (130 degrees F).
Of the original 200, 182 are still functional following item recovery and planned testing. Clearance-2 researchers looking to perform tests may submit completed form FTI-18-2 to Dr. Richards.
Post-XXX Update: All testing has been halted on the remaining 63 mugs. Clearance-4 researchers seeking testing exemptions must directly contact Site Head Andrews.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a sentient entity which claims to be able to contact
