Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is located at Site-14, 50 meters below the surface. The entity's wheels are currently blocked by specially made clamps, since its self-generated movement could not be stopped. No personnel is allowed to enter or touch the wreckage. The train's durability has progressively decayed since 2011, and starting with 2015, personnel are forbidden to interact with the wreck, due to extreme corrosion. Lights are not allowed inside the containment area because it could cause damage to XXXX. Lights are only turned on during periodic checks and inspections. The only way of monitoring the subject is through night-vision security cameras which stay on 24/7. Until its expected total erosion in 2057, SCP-XXXX is to be left untouched.
SCP-XXXX's containment room is to be powered by a separate power supply which is not connected to the main source. The containment procedure has been adopted in order to prevent any potentially upcoming electric attacks from SCP-XXXX.
Rectification: An experiment conducted in 2018 which involved turning on XXXX's headlights by powering it up with an electric generator caused a complete shutdown of all electric devices across the entirety of Site-14 for 30 seconds. After disconnecting the train from the power generator, its headlights turned off and power across the facility was restored. Although SCP-XXXX's containment room was connected to a different power source from the main one, the experiment demonstrated the containment procedure is ineffective.
Description: SCP-XXXX takes the form of an R62A New York Subway train with 5 cars. The train has a length of 77,8 meters, a width of 2,62 meters and a height of 3,62 meters. Each of the 5 cars has a length of 15,56 meters, a width of 2,62 meters and a height of 3,62 meters.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in November of 2011 in the Atlantic Ocean, near the Island of Cuba. Locals from Cuba, mostly fishermen, reported hearing strange train-like noises coming from the ocean. Soon, an investigation began which sparked the interest of the SCP Foundation. The Foundation sent its diving personnel to look into the matter. Just 80 km northward of the city of Puerto Padre a subway train wreck was found which was inexplicably slowly moving on the ocean floor despite the lack of a railroad or human presence inside. The wreckage was transported to Site-14 where it currently lays.
SCP-XXXX is in a very bad condition. The locomotive and its 5 cars are full of rust and algae and the Foundation is trying its best to preserve the wreckage for as long as possible before it eventually deteriorates into dust.
Multiple studies were conducted on the entity and they all failed to locate the source of energy that generates the train's movement. Its normal engine didn't show any signs of functioning.
An investigation of the wreck conducted in ████ concluded that no human activity was ever present inside the subway train. The possible manufacturers could not be identified and no items were found in the wreckage.
Update: A stainless steel ring was discovered in the 3rd car, a cell phone was discovered in the 2nd car, a pair of earrings was discovered in the 5th car and a newspaper alongside a map of the United States of America was discovered in the first car. The ring and the earrings could not be identified. The newspaper was almost like a paste and no information could be extracted from it. The cell phone was identified to be a Nokia 7210 and surprisingly contained a sim card which had data regarding the possible user. The cell phone is now kept in a 30 by 30 cm transparent box.
Despite the discovery of the objects, human presence inside the train is still not confirmed.
SCP-XXXX Activity Report: SCP-XXXX has so far presented only 1 dangerous behavior.
In April 2013, the train's headlights suddenly turned on and knocked out all power across Site-14. After 8 minutes and 42 seconds, the train's headlights turned off and power came back on.
SCP-XXXX presented a sign of activity in September 2017, when it was reported honking for the first time since its discovery in 2011. The sound itself was 130 dB loud and it could also be heard from above the ground. The honk lasted for 5 seconds straight.
SCP-XXXX has been reported to be able to infiltrate the minds of other beings around it. 38 out of 45 staff members who are currently working on XXXX have claimed to have seen the entity in their dreams. There have currently been 12 interviews taken with subjects who had mental contact with the entity.
Interview taken on 16.01.2016, starting at 08:10
Interviewed: Mr.███████
Interviewer: Dr. Kohola
Foreword: Dr. Kohola enters Interviewing Room Nr.██ holding a sheet of paper, a pen and a water bottle. He sits down in front of Mr.███████ and then he takes a sip of water from the bottle he brought with him.
<Begin Log, 08:10>
Dr. Kohola: Hello, I am Dr. Alan Kohola. Before we begin our interview, I will ask you to identify yourself first. Please state your name, age and place of birth.
Mr.███████: I am ██████████, I am currently ██ years old and I was born in ██████, Australia.
Dr. Kohola: Alright Mr.███████. How many times have you dreamed of SCP-XXXX and do you remember when you dreamed about it?
Mr.███████: I have dreamed of SCP-XXXX 3 times. My first dream happened on 22nd of April 2014, the second one happened on 17th of June 2015 and the third one happened on 14th of December 2015.
Dr. Kohola: Are you convinced that your dreams are directly related to SCP-XXXX?
Mr.███████: Yes Dr. I am convinced.
Dr. Kohola: Why didn't you report your first dream back in 2014?
Mr.███████: At the time, I did not know that SCP-XXXX was capable of infiltrating dreams and that it could have influenced me. I considered my dream to be just a simple nightmare.
Dr. Kohola: What makes you think XXXX is capable of infiltrating dreams?
Mr.███████: I have dreamt the exact same events 3 times, doctor. Dreams should technically not be able to repeat themselves. And SCP-XXXX was present in every dream.
Dr. Kohola: Why did you decide to report your dreams now?
Mr.███████: After my third dream in December, I decided to talk with the other staff members who were working on SCP-XXXX and I soon discovered that more people had similar dreams to mine. I then discovered there were people who reported these events before me, so knowing what my situation was, I decided to report the events myself.
Dr. Kohola: How many of the 38 people who claimed to have been in spiritual contact with XXXX do you personally know?
Mr.███████: I have personally met and talked to 14 people, doctor.
Dr. Kohola: Have they also reported their experience?
Mr.███████: I am not aware of that, doctor.
Dr. Kohola: Alright then. What was happening in your dreams, Mr.███████?
Mr.███████: All my dreams played out the same way. I was strapped to a railroad in a hot red desert. I was vertically placed on a rail track and I was unable to move. I do not remember feeling any pain but I could feel blood flowing from my head and feet. I assume the rail track was extremely hot from the sun, so my skin was probably burning. Then I heard a loud distant honking sound coming from the left. When I looked to my left, I saw SCP-XXXX rapidly coming towards me on the railroad. I panicked, I began screaming and I struggled to break free of the rope that was tying me to the track. Eventually, I woke up right when SCP-XXXX ran over me.
Dr. Kohola: Alright Mr.███████. So you claim to have witnessed this nightmare 3 times?
Mr.███████: Yes.
Dr. Kohola: Do you have anything else to add?
Mr.███████: No Dr.
Dr. Kohola: Alright Mr.███████, thank you for your cooperation.
