Special Containment Procedures: Any instances of SCP-XXXX-A are to be terminated by incineration. All personnel are to use decontamination suits when researching SCP-XXXX and the front plate of SCP-XXXX is to remain closed when SCP-XXXX is not being used for conducting research. Due to the absorptive properties of SCP-XXXX, no forms of electronic equipment or sapient creatures is to be brought within a certain¹ area of SCP-XXXX while SCP-XXXX is open. SCP-XXXX is contained in a 6x6x6 meter containment cell with 1 meter thick concrete walls, floor and sealing, with 50mm lead platting among a 130x130x130mm plexiglass box for SCP-XXXX to block the emissions of alpha and beta particles.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 60x45x10 mm gold plated quartz pocket watch with a 368mm chain. SCP-XXXX bears a engraving of an adult male deer on the front plate accompanied by smaller decorative etchings of flora typically found within the American countryside along the edges and free space of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is fully sapient and capable of communicating similar to that of normal human, although there is no means for SCP-XXXX to communicate in such a fashion. SCP-XXXX absorbs and emits all forms of electromagnetic energy with fatal potency. With in an 28.27m² area, as hypothesized by Researcher Raymond through currently unknown ways of manipulation of the fundamental interaction of electromagnetism and multiple expiration of D-Class personnel.

SCP-XXXX arrived at this government dump site in November 14th of 1943 after the ONR (Office of Naval Research) deemed the proclaimed hoax, the October 28th,1943 Philadelphia Experiment over sought by Commander Haynes² a catastrophic failure after the sudden disappearance of all organic materials and lifeforms aboard the USS Eldridge after it's successful cloaking, and subsequent reappearance. All remaining evidence was collected, dumped, and any records of the experiment given the Top Secret classification by the US government in a effort to coverup the disappearance of the USS Eldridge's crew at the time of the experiment and dissuade US enemy spies of the existence of any form of cloaking technology.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered on July 9th, 1991 by Foundation researcher Researcher Raymond after several positive readings of alpha decay, beta decay, and gamma radiation emitted from a dump site in the surrounding desert at Edwards Air Force Base, located within Southern California, with a unusually high background radiation level³ garnered the curiosity of the Foundation. Dr. Raymond permitted a search and recover operation for the source of this anomaly.

During normal janitorial duties, Custodian Carmichael attempted to open SCP-XXXX. Custodian Carmichael was severely damaged by SCP-XXXX's radiation and expired not long after. Custodian Carmichael reanimated, subsequently turned into an instance of SCP-XXXX-A. MTF was dispatched and terminated the instance of SCP-XXXX-A with minor causalities.

The steel door flies on it's hinges as Researcher Roy make his entrance with Dr.Raymond; Dr.Raymond makes his way behind the two-way mirror to spectate and guide Roy

Dr.Raymond: [Okay Roy it's rolling, we're a go.]

Researcher Roy: [Good morning SCP-XXXX, my name is Roy Cornelius and I have been assined to research your possible intelligents and/or sapience.]

Nothing but silence befalls the room

Dr.Raymond: [Any signs of life?]

Researcher Roy: [Nope not a damn thing. Are you sure SCP-XXXX is alive? Let alone something that needs containing, as I said in the mess hall it could just be an ordinary pocket watch some idiot mixed up the intel with?]

Dr.Raymond: [Well the only way to tell is if you shut your mouth and do what you have been told to.]

The sounds of shuffling paper emit from the direction of Roy as the continuous tick of SCP-XXXX takes over

Researcher Roy: [Okay I think we should wrap this up, this is clearly going nowhere Ray-]

The hinges to the protective plate of SCP-XXXX swing open; a series of ticks and stops resonate the dead room

Dr.Raymond: [What the hell!? Is that the SCP?]

Researcher Roy: [Yes Sir.]

Roy frantically grabs his foundation pen and furiously begins to write in sync with SCP-XXXX

Researcher Roy: [Of course! It's Morse code; how else would you communicate if you were a clock.]

Dr.Raymond: [Well spit it out already, what is it saying?]

Researcher Roy: ["The flame of Prometheus guides them".]

Dr.Raymond: [Are you sure that's correct?]

Researcher Roy: [Yes sir, the message just repeats after that.]

Dr.Raymond: [Splendid, We're done here. Make sure that when the tape is done being analyzed by the guys over in memeics, have a copy of the tape sent over to my office, I want to review this a soon as possible.]

Closing Statement: [SCP-XXXX was discovered to be sapient and intelligent life through the emission of a morse code message. Dr.Raymond and Researcher Roy have both submitted their reports of the interview and the update of SCP-XXXX's article to the Board of Directors for review and approval. At the request of Dr.Raymond, two armed guards and one cryptologist are to remain posted within the spectators room of SCP-XXXX's containment cell to ensure that SCP-XXXX continues to transmit the morse with no breaks or interruptions.]
