Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures (REVISED 21/11/2019): Provisional Containment Site-XXXX has been established around SCP-XXX and surrounds the entire forested area up to 3km away from its geographic center under the guise of a Russian bio-hazard containment facility. The outside of Provisional site-XXXX is surrounded by a 5m tall metal hoarding with additional signs, in Russian, detailing that trespassers will be detained and risk personal health and safety through unauthorized access. The perimeter fence will be patrolled by five (5) armed guards wearing Russian Spetsnaz uniforms. Any trespassers will be detained and interrogated to discern their intentions for traveling to SCP-XXXX. Amnestics are authorized for use in case by case scenarios.1
Security cameras with both infrared and thermal imaging capabilities along with motion tracking equipment is to be maintained between 2.5km and 1.5km away from the geographic center of SCP-XXXX in order to track any exploration attempts into No attempts at setting up security cameras within 1.5km of the geographic center of SCP-XXXX have succeeded though GPS trackers manage to reactivate within the center of SCP-XXXX. Automated drones sent into SCP-XXXX cease to function after reaching the 1.5km threshold and are considered lost. In order to monitor the geographic center of SCP-XXXX aerial video and photography will be used by foundation aircraft maintaining a distance no closer than 3km to geographic center.
Exploration of SCP-XXXX is limited to no more than one (1) D-class personnel at a time. D-class personnel eploring SCP-XXXX are to carry a camera capable of thermal imaging and able to be mounted to a chest harness, a separate audio recording microphone attached at the collar and a GPS monitoring device attached somewhere on the person. Any unauthorized exploration attempts by other personnel will be met with removal and reassignment from Provisional Containment Site-XXXX. Any and all documentation related to SCP-XXXX or its properties is to be kept in a class-3 document storage locker owned by Lead Researcher Samuel Fitzgerald. Access to these documents are to be submitted to Lead Researcher Fitzgerald or another level 2 researcher on site using official document access application forms as outlined in document XXXX-1A
Addendum XXXX-A: Any sightings of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be reported immediately to Head of Security Jacob Whitehead. Under no circumstances are personnel to attempt interactions with instances of SCP-XXXX-1. In the event of SCP-XXXX-1 emergence from SCP-XXXX On-site security is to engage and attempt to drive instances back past the the 2.5km threshold. Lethal force is authorized in the case of large scale emergence events. Dead specimens of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be disposed of by two (2) personnel wearing level 1 hazmat suits and incinerated.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a forested area located at the coordinates ██°██’██,██’’ N, ███°██’██,██’’ E in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. The anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX are contained within a 2.5km radius around a large open clearing acting as its geographic center. Such anomalous effects within the forested area include visual and auditory hallucinations, loss of a person's sense of time and space, a constant fog approximately 5m around a person at any given time. Anomalous effects of the geographic center of SCP-XXXX have not been fully confirmed but disappearance of subjects approaching the center and their subsequent reappearance within the center have been observed. There are no known trails leading into SCP-XXXX but pathways and trails have been observed from data recovered by subjects after exploration missions.
Subjects exploring the forested area of SCP-XXXX have reported visual and auditory hallucinations including hearing the sound of adults and children laughing, crying, or attempting to speak with exploring subjects, visual identification of adult and child humans appearing in or around the fog reported by subjects, and occasionally visual and auditory evidence of both large and small spiders2. The largest of these spiders reported by subjects have been approximately 4m in height and some spiders have been reported to have faces resembling [DATA EXPUNGED]. The further a subject travels into SCP-XXXX the more intense these effects become up to a subject reaching 1.5km of geographic center.
Once a subject crosses the 1.5km threshold, all audio and visual recording ceases to function and GPS trackers become unresponsive. At this point subject is considered lost. After a time frame of 5 minutes to 2 hours the GPS tracker will reactivate somewhere within the open clearing of SCP-XXXX. Aerial video and photography shows subjects appearing instantly within the clearing in various positions and states of decomposition. loss of body parts are common and subjects appear to be covered in a semi-reflective substance similar in appearance to spider silk. cadavers will disappear naturally over the course of 3 hours.
Addendum A Incident Report XXXX-1A: On 20/11/2019, arachnid-like creatures, later classified as SCP-XXXX-1, emerged from the .5km safe zone between Provisional Containment Site-XXXX and SCP-XXXX and initiated a security breach resulting in loss of ██ personnel. The security team that responded managed to repel SCP-XXXX-1 instances back into SCP-XXXX. This incident officially confirmed the hostile nature of the arachnid-like creatures subjects reported during explorations. Due to the level of hostility and mental effects of SCP-XXXX-1 instances, a request for the formation of a Mobile Task Force that can respond to emergence events has been submitted by Lead Researcher Fitzgerald. This request is currently pending.
