SCP-XXXX in normal containment

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept within a perimeter of 5 km² (3 mi²). This area is labeled as government property and is a no trespassing area. Testing for new specimens should be conducted on a weekly basis and all irregular testing must be approved by Dr. Sanderson or any Level 4 personnel.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a stone table which is seemingly of Japanese origin. All large plant life (such as trees) within 30 meters (100 feet) of SCP-XXXX quickly deteriorates and turns into a black dust within about 24 hours.

Most Earth-based plant life is discouraged from growing around SCP-XXXX. However, many unidentifiable plant species often grow around SCP-XXXX. Most of this plant life looks similar to grass, however upon closer examination does not function like most plant life on earth. These specimens do not appear to use photosynthesis, nor do they have any root system. Rather they appear to gain energy from SCP-XXXX itself. This plant life is labeled as SCP-XXXX-1.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX was discovered within an old, overgrown warehouse outside Nara, Japan on May 2nd, 1994. This was after various farmers in the local area reported a community of Japanese cultists who were using it as a shrine for "sacrificing various species of plants as demanded by the one true god". Foundation staff arrived on the scene and all subjects reported were found dead. SCP-XXXX as well as all dead subjects were taken for examination.

SCP-XXXX immediately moved back to it's original location upon all visual contact with it being lost.
