Dimension switching

Item: SCP-XXXX

Description: SCP-XXXX was a parallel instance of the Foundation existing in a separate universe which has been given the designation SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A included corresponding individuals for every conscious being, and the wide-scale political and geographical situation was identical as a result of all major historical events aligning. Although major events aligned, trivial choices could differ for individuals. It is unknown how this difference did not affect major events but it is theorized that [REDACTED].

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered following an experiment by the SCP-XXXX-1 version of Dr. Oliver Scullion, who is hereafter referred to as Dr. Oliver Scullion-B, leading to both researchers switching place. No second transfer was enacted by Dr. Scullion leading Dr. Scullion-B to conclude that the components used for the experiments were damaged by the initial activation.

Description log: Idem Events
Discovery: On the …/… … the foundation was notified that a … * … area of a Stop sign had been fused with a copy of itself. Following this, multiple similar happenings were found with an increasing extent of both frequency and affected volumes.
Description: Idem-events were happenings in which areas merged with equivalent areas from SCP-XXXX-A, often either leading to the items in these areas either disappearing or become fused with identical copies of themselves. Notable examples of this include a part of a stop sign, three playgrounds, multiple human beings (notably, humans undergoing Idem-events always merged with their counterparts no matter differences in locations), five apartment buildings, and a small town.

Archived protocol:
Effective on…/… …, no transfer to SCP-XXXX-A is allowed. Mobile task force … is to be allowed access to all foundation surveillance except [REDACTED] and tasked with the immediate neutralization of any individual belonging to SCP-XXXX. Containment procedures of world-threatening SCPs are to be automized if possible. If automation is not possible, randomizing components are to be instigated in the scheduling of operating personal.

Board meeting
Background:
On the …/… … protocol … was discontinued after having been active for … with no causulties. The main reason for this discontinuing was the rapid increase in Idem-events leading researchers to believe an XK-end-f-the-world scenario to be inescapeable unless drastic meassures were to be taken. The O5 council with advice of the ethics commitée allowed communications to take place. Following two weeks of preparations and the loss of 2 D-class personal, because of SCP-XXXX having enacted a similar protocol to …, a board meeting was set up between representatives for both Foundations.
Attending:
Foundation A: Dr. Louise Graves, Dr. Graham Smith
Foundation B (SCP-XXXX): Dr. Casper Boyle, Dr. Oliver Scullion-B, Dr. Spohia-Rose Shepard
Log:

Graves: Welcome everyone, before we start can all introduce themselves?

Boyle: I- I'm Casper Boyle, Foundation researcher.

Shepard: Sophia Shepard, Foundation diplomat.

Smith: Graham Smith, same.

(Smith and Shepard lock eyes for 2 seconds)

Scullion: Dr Oliver Scullion, the researcher who started this. I think we will be able to work something beautiful out.

Graves: And I am Louise Graves, Foundation researcher. In order for everything to be clear for the record, Boyle, Shepard and Scullion are representatives for Universe B and I and Smith represent Universe A.

(Graves looks down at her papers)

**Graves:* So, to the issue. As you all know we're here to discuss how to prevent the merging of our universes. You can all see our proposed soluion on one the papers before you.

(riffling of paperis heard throughout the board)

Shepard: I was under the impression that designing a solution was what we were here to discuss.

Graves: Yes, but we decided that using a plan as starti-

Shepard: No, let's not do that. None of us has a clear view of the full landscape so it wouldn't be hard for you to-

(Silence for 3 seconds)

Graves: Alright, we won't use our predesigned plan. Any suggestions of a plan?

Boyle: Even though we won't use your plan, a- (Boyle looks down at his paper) a joint research project seems like the obvious thing to do.

Smith: Can we all agrre on that. No objectons?

(No one objects)

Smith: Okay! (smith puts his hands together and leans forward) So the first question would probably be where this joint research project would take place.
