Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a small locked container in Storage Facility ████ when not in testing at all times. Due to its relatively harmless nature, a biometric lock accessible by Level-X personal is sufficient to secure SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is required to have one (1) lightly armed security personel cycled out every hour and is only accessible by Level-X personal, see addendum XXXX. Personel wanting to perform testing on SCP-XXXX must submit a formal request to {Put something here, I'm not entirely sure who yet} Testing of SCP-XXXX will not be permitted at this time.

Description: SCP-XXXX was recovered when its previous owner, ██████ ████, returned it to the store of its original purchase as it was deemed defective. Mr. ████ was questioned in an attempt to determine the identities of the call recipients and the topics of discussion. All of the recipients were determined to be fictitious. Mr. ████ was administered Class-X amnestics per standard protocol.

SCP-XXXX is a handset and base. The design being indigenous of the late 90s to early 2000s, and no markings indicating any model or manufacturer. Despite its anomalous properties, it does require a power source supplied by a wall socket. However, SCP-XXXX does not require a landline, WiFi, or cellular connection for operation. When in use, SCP-XXXX will emit a standard dial tone from its speaker. After approximately twenty (20) seconds, test subjects have reported hearing the voice of an individual they have known in the past, designated SCP-XXXX-1. Despite this, anyone, other than the original caller, who attempts to listen to SCP-XXXX while a call is in progress will only hear the dial tone. When asked about the identity of SCP-XXXX-1, subjects insist that the voice was that of a close relative or friend. It is worth noting that all descriptions of SCP-XXXX are oftentimes a person subjects have a rapport and deep respect for. Despite the subject's claims, no evidence of the existence of these individuals has ever been found. It is currently unclear if these individuals have ever existed
