Item #: SCP-6XXX
Object Class: Keter | Partially Contained
Special Containment Procedures: A minimum of two modular SCPOrbiter satellites (see Table I: SCPOrbiter-6XXX nonstandard instrumentation) are to be maintained in geosynchronous orbit around celestial bodies on which instances of SCP-6XXX are determined to have occurred. These satellites are each to transmit collected monitoring and diagnostic data packets to Foundation space once every 336 hours (two weeks) in a staggered schedule with co-orbiting satellites, maintaining a maximum of one week between updates from the system as a whole.
Human, non-Foundation travel to systems containing bodies affected by SCP-6XXX is prohibited. Evidence of extraterrestrial travel to those systems is to be monitored for and reported by SCPOrbiter-6XXX satellites as part of regular operations, though to date no such travel has been observed or reported. Non-Foundation telescopic observation and other research regarding affected systems and celestial bodies is to be discouraged and suppressed by Foundation assets within astronomical societies, space agencies, and universities. In the event of independent determination of the existence of SCP-6XXX by a non-Foundation entity, corroborating data are to be seized and copied to Foundation severs, and Class-B amnestics issued.
Due to the varied evidentiary nature and undetermined scale of the SCP-6XXX phenomenon, assessing the proper scope, scale, and resource expenditure to be allocated for its containment presents an ongoing challenge. It is unknown if existing extraterrestrial civilizations are aware of SCP-6XXX or in contact with affected bodies, and insufficient resources presently exist to determine this information and to effectively incorporate it into containment procedures.

Item #: SCP-4968
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Embedded operatives within the New Jersey Department of Transportation are to modify reported deer-automobile collision statistics to within one standard deviation of statewide average. A Foundation-owned asset ("Stag Collision Prevention") in New Jersey has installed more than 200 reflective warning signs along roads across the area, and has successfully lobbied for lowered speed limits across SCP-4968-A. Lobbying for a regional ban on motorcycles is ongoing.
In addition, the asset is currently staging an extensive advertisement campaign within ████ and surrounding counties emphasizing careful driving, updated auto safety features, and discouraging the use of small and light vehicles such as motorcycles. Foundation personnel operating within SCP-4968-A are required to operate vehicles with reinforced windows, body plating, tires, and suspension systems.
Captured SCP-4968-C members are to be housed in the Woodland Forested Preserve at Biological Research Site-104. SCP-4968-C members are to be separated from each other and from non-affected Odocoileus virginianus individuals at all times, unless authorized for testing by at least two Level 4 personnel.
Pending Ethics Committee review and ruling, SCP-4968-B affected individuals are not to be terminated unless specific authorization is given. Broadly authorized termination scenarios include culling in line with state hunting quotas, prevention of physical migration outside of SCP-4968-A, euthanization following collisions, and self-defense.
Description: SCP-4968 is the collective designation for several phenomena consisting of or affecting the Odocoileus virginianus (white-tailed deer) population in ████ County, New Jersey.
SCP-4968-A is UE-4968-EX, an approximately 800 km² region consisting of the majority of ████ County, New Jersey, in which recorded collisions between O. virginianus and automobiles occurred at 1000% of the statewide average between 2001 and 2002. Following statistical flagging, the region was assigned Unexplained Location status before the discovery of SCP-4968-B.
Location Description: An approximately 800 km² region in which recorded collisions between O. virginianus (white-tailed deer) and automobiles occur at more than nine times the statewide average.
Date of Containment: 2002-03-26
Location: ████ County, New Jersey, United States
Security Protocol: Embedded operatives within the New Jersey Department of Transportation are to modify reported deer-automobile collision statistics to within one standard deviation of statewide average. Foundation-owned assets in New Jersey have installed more than 200 reflective warning signs along roads across the area, and are currently lobbying for lowered speed limits across the area.
The extent of SCP-4968-A may coincide with the territorial range of PoI-4968(see SCP-4968-C Organizational Hierarchy). Research into this connection is ongoing.
SCP-4968-C "scouts" fleeing observation.
SCP-4968-B is a meme complex affecting O. virginianus within SCP-4968-A that results in deliberate, targeted bodily collisions with moving vehicles. Affected individuals are capable of communicating and coordinating through unknown, presumably anomalous means to observe, target, and attack high-traffic road areas. SCP-4968-B is believed to foster "radicalization" and hostility towards humans within affected individuals, demonstrated by the aggressiveness and high self-mortality rate (95%) of SCP-4968-B attacks.
SCP-4968-C (pending designation GoI-4968) is a social hierarchy, functionally independent of but incorporating preexisting herd groups, dedicated to spreading and maintaining SCP-4968-B and associated behaviors.
SCP-4968-C Organizational Hierarchy
Role Designation |
Number of Observed Members |
Sex of Members |
Description |
"Scout" |
10,345 |
Predominantly (93.4%) female |
The most openly-operating, and most observed role. Members engage in target observation, cross-cell communication, and accompany members of other roles during movement and SCP-4968-related activities. Scouts vocalize to group members when aware of observation, and will engage in physical defense of higher-ranked individuals, despite smaller stature and lack of defensive features. |
"Attacker" |
Est. >12,000 |
Slight majority (64%) male |
Posthumous designation of individuals that have engaged in attacks. Fewer than 5% of individuals in this role survive their initial attack, and if unimpeded by injury or capture, exhibit intense aggression towards nearby humans, particularly crash survivors. Selection is theorized to come from among scout ranks, likely based on time of exposure to and engagement with SCP-4968-B. |
"Cell leader" |
321 |
Predominantly (97.5%) male |
The larger SCP-4968-C is divided into over 300 smaller cells, consisting mostly of pre-SCP-4968-B herd groups. Cell leaders appear to be central to the coordination of scout activities, consuming information and selecting targets by criteria believed to incorporate traffic volume and forest access. Cell leaders are believed to play a role in the selection of attackers as well, but data regarding this process is extremely limited. |
PoI-4968 |
Est. 1 |
Male |
PoI-4968 is the hypothetical designation for a subject(s) believed to play a central role in the spread of SCP-4968-B and the coordination of SCP-4968-C cells. While no specific individual has been confirmed as PoI-4968, several potential subjects have been identified to date. Extrapolation of PoI-4968's sex is based on known O. virginianus behaviors and observation of independent SCP-4XXX-C subjects. |
Detailed examination of captured SCP-4968-C members has revealed no anomalous properties in brain structure and physiology. Individuals display no abnormal behaviors apart from those induced by SCP-4968-B.
Item #: SCP-4645
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Foundation personnel are to be embedded within institutions and facilities involved in particle physics research, particularly those engaged in detecting and/or conducting active research with neutrinos. Upon detection of an SCP-4645 instance, embedded personnel are to copy and delete relevant data if able, and are to alert Mobile Task Force Delta-45 ("Spin Doctors"). MTF Delta-45 is to administer Class-A amnestics to non-Foundation personnel with knowledge of or proximity to SCP-4645-relevant data, and is to perform a complete backup and wipe of SCP-4645-relevant data on non-Foundation computers.
In the event of containment breach in the form of Class-3 public information dissemination, a cover story is to created in the form of rebuke and discrediting proofs from Foundation physics personnel and Foundation-aligned physics institutions. Due to the currently perceived statistical unlikelihood of replicating an SCP-4645 event, subsequent attempts and replication by independent entities and the site of origin itself have an estimated 99% chance of reaffirming the conservation of energy and perceptually invalidating SCP-4645 results.
Description: SCP-4645 is the anomalous acceleration of neutrinos to a velocity faster than that of light in a vacuum, c, seemingly in violation of Einstein's law of conservation of energy. As of ██/██/20██, the only recorded instances of SCP-4645 (see Incident Log) have occurred in controlled laboratory settings. Due to the imprecision and expense of current neutrino detection technology, if SCP-4645 occurs in nature, it has yet to be observed.
The cause of SCP-4645 is unknown; investigations into potential applications are ongoing.
Incident Log:
SCP-4645-1
Date: Start date unknown, public dispersal begins March 2011
Description: The first recorded incidence of SCP-4645. During testing in collaboration with CERN in 2010, the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS)'s OPERA experiment detects evidence of muon neutrinos traveling faster than the speed of light. The observed muon neutrinos are accurately measured as having traveled between initial beam and receptor approximately 60.7 nanoseconds faster than the predicted speed of a photon traveling the same distance. These results are first announced in March 2011, at which point embedded Foundation personnel report confidence that the findings are in error, and should be corrected following further analysis and peer review. On 23 September, OPERA scientists publish a paper detailing their results and seemingly anomalous origin. The phenomenon is classified as SCP-4645 and Protocol 134-Opera is established and put into action. By mid-2012, the OPERA results have been publicly discredited, with error attributed to an error in timer frequency.
SCP-4645-2
Date: 03/25/2014
Description: The second recorded incidence of SCP-4645. Researchers attempting to replicate anomalous particle weaponry at Research Site-45 record an SCP-4645 incidence during experiments with a miniaturized particle accelerator. Affected neutrinos are recorded traveling[REDACTED] meters 1 ns faster than recorded photons. Due to secure nature of the facility, no amnestics are administered, but MTF Delta-45 is tasked with backing up data and taking custody of the particle accelerator for study.
SCP-4645-3
Date: ██/██/2019
Description: The third recorded incidence of SCP-4645. Embedded personnel within [REDACTED] National Laboratory in [REDACTED], United States report observation of muon neutrinos exceeding c by 0.5%. The experiment is ended early due to significant damage to the receiver. MTF Delta-45 arrives on-scene and enacts containment protocols. SCP-4645-3 is successfully kept from public dissemination, and facility damage is attributed to lax maintenance and safety protocols.
Item #: SCP-5122
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5122 is the subject of direct imaging and indirect observation by SCPOT Theta-9 and NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope. SCPOrbiter 5122 is scheduled for launch in 2019. SCPOrbiter 5122 is expected to reach SCP-5122 in August of 2025.
Embedded personnel within the Space Telescope Science Institute are to deny non-Foundation proposals for observation of SCP-5122 or any region of sky within 0.05 arcseconds of SCP-5122. In the event of observation by unauthorized non-Foundation persons or entities, all relevant data is to be copied to Foundation archives and deleted, and Class-B amnestics issued.
Description: SCP-5122 is a small terrestrial planet that orbits the Sun at a distance of 50 AU (7.5 billion km), with an orbital period of 230,327 Earth days (~630 years). The planet has an estimated diameter of 13,000 km and an estimated mass of 5.5x1024 kg.
Observed size values fall within the standard range for terrestrial planets within █ AU of stellar habitable zones on the Williams-Hernandez Planetary Mass Index, but are on average ██ times greater than corresponding values for fringe dwarf planets and Kuiper Belt Objects. Despite its distance from the Sun (and the physical properties of bodies with similar orbits in the Kuiper Belt), spectrographic observations of SCP-5122 have confirmed a tenuous but noticeable atmosphere. These observations challenge accepted theories and public perception of planetary composition and formation.

Object Class: Safe Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5122 is the subject of direct imaging and indirect observation by SCPOT Theta-9 and NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope. SCPOrbiter 5122 is scheduled for launch in 2019. SCPOrbiter 5122 is expected to reach SCP-5122 in August of 2025. Direct satellite insertion within 1 AU of SCP-5122 is prohibited.
Embedded personnel within the Space Telescope Science Institute are to deny non-Foundation proposals for observation of SCP-5122 or any region of sky within 0.05 arcseconds of SCP-5122. In the event of observation by non-Foundation persons or entities, all relevant data is to be copied to Foundation archives and deleted, and Class-B amnestics issued.
In order to prevent a Class-PD temporal paradox, radio transmissions to and other forms of communication with SCP-5122 are prohibited. -O5-9
Special Containment Procedure-5122 is to be appropriately censored before being made available to personnel below Level 3 clearance. The censored document should reflect and imply the following concepts:
1) SCP-5122 orbits the Sun at an observable rate.
2) SCP-5122 has no natural satellites.
3) SCP-5122 is not known to be capable of supporting life.
4) SCP-5122 and Earth are separate physical entities.
Description: SCP-5122 is an anomalous region of space in the Kuiper Belt that, when viewed from any point on Earth, the Moon or the space between the two bodies, appears to contain the Earth-Moon system as it appears approximately 30 years following the date of observation. Outbound electromagnetic radiation, including that of human origin, exhibits no anomalous properties and can be received normally despite its apparent temporal origin. SCP-5122-A appears to be a small terrestrial planet 50 AU (7.5 billion km) from the Sun. The planet has an apparent diameter of 12,742 km and an estimated mass of 5.972x1024 kg. SCP-5122-B appears to be a natural satellite of SCP-5122-B that orbits the planet at a distance of approximately 384,400 km, and has an apparent diameter of 3,474 km. The bodies do not exert gravitational influence or a lensing effect on the surrounding space despite their apparent sizes.
Despite its distance from the Sun (and the physical properties of bodies with similar orbits in the Kuiper Belt), Spectrographic observations of SCP-5122-A have confirmed a thick atmosphere comprised of ~80% nitrogen (N2), ~5% oxygen (O2), ~10% carbon dioxide (CO2), and ~5% sulfuric acid (H2SO4) as of 20██.
Discovery: Evidence of SCP-5122 was first encountered in an anomalous radio transmission detected in 1944, now designated SCP-5122-EX. Following the proposal for and broadcast (independent of Foundation awareness or oversight) of the 1974 Arecibo Message to the globular star cluster M13, it was determined that the contents of both messages were identical and constituted a Class-U Temporal Anomaly. After an extensive sky survey in the direction of GSC M13, SCP-5122 was discovered in 1976.
