SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained at Site-19 in a locked safe in Bulk Containment C2. The safe code is only known to Senior Researcher Dr. Sova. SCP-XXXX must only be removed for testing purposes with written authorization from the Site Director.
05/09/2020 - SCP-XXXX must remain in storage until testing of SCP-XXXX-1 is complete.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a disk composed of a grey-green stone material of unknown composition. The object is an unknown age and it resists damage by conventional means. The object measures 5.5x5.5x1 in with rounded edges and weighs 6.8lbs. On one side, the object features a triangle containing two solid circles and one hollow circle located on the inside corners of the triangle.

Discovery: The foundation was first made aware of SCP-XXXX in 19██ after a series of unexplained occurrences in the Russian town Kuvshinovo. SCP-XXXX was discovered on the body of a deceased 43 year-old male. The mans neighbors said they heard the man laughing hysterically shortly before he died yelling about “riches”. Further medical examination revealed the man was missing both his lungs and ruled the cause of death as asphyxiation. Background research revealed the man was a railroad worker, and was considered forgettable by his neighbors. Examination of the man's home found an unopened inheritance letter from his grandfathers estate, postmarked 23 years prior.

Operation: When SCP-XXXX is first held by a subject, the subject will hear the phrase “Do you accept this blessed exchange?” in their mind and the disk will vibrate softly. The subject will hear the phrase in their most dominant language. If the counterphrase “I accept this blessed exchange” is spoken out loud or internally vocalized, SCP-XXXX will cease vibrating and activate its anomalous properties. If the subject does nothing for 10 seconds, stops holding SCP-XXXX or vocalizes another phrase, SCP-XXXX will cease vibrating. SCP-XXXX will only trigger once per person, whether or not counterphrase is used.

When the counterphrase is spoken, two aspects relating to or part of the subject will be immediately removed and “exchanged” for a new aspect. Observed aspects exchanged include body-parts, items of clothing and immediate possessions, memories, personality traits and individuals related to the subject. Aspects have also been observed to be taken from, but not given to close friends and family members of the subject.

Interviewer: Dr. Sova
Location: Interview room A-343
Purpose: Identify object counterphrase

Testing log 8

Subject: D-7553 (D Class)
Interviewer: Dr. Sova
Location: Interview room A-224
Purpose: Identify parameters of SCP-XXXXs activation
Background: SCP-XXXX appears to do nothing, or cause a random assortment of body parts or possessed objects to disappear.

[BEGIN LOG]
Sova: 7553, please follow the instructions as discussed in the debrief.
(Subject picks up SCP-XXXX and says the counterphrase. Subject remained motionless then began clutching their stomach while groaning. Subject then vomited up a mixture of blood and bile over the interview table and partially over Dr. Sova. Subject fell off their chair onto the floor clutching their throat.)
Sova: Medic!
(The attending medic assisted 7553, but 7553 died within several minutes)

Addendum
Examination revealed cause of death to be a ruptured small intestine resulting from internal hemorrhaging, in addition to the subjects liver being missing. The rupture was caused by the presence of a large coiled ball of clothes inside the subjects small intestines. The clothes included a pair of pants, a dress shirt, socks and underwear typical of men's office fashion from the 1990s.
Suggested change to testing procedures: Plastic screen between interviewer and subject.

Addendum
Testing procedures clearly state that only D class personal may be tested. It is unknown how Dr. Clark became a test subject, why it was authorized by Dr. Sova and why no personnel prevented it. All involved personnel are being questioned, with most reporting confusion and that they did not find it unusual that Dr. Clark was being prepped to be a test subject. Security camera footage is currently being reviewed. Junior researcher Dr. Michaels reported that he briefly saw Dr. Clark, but remembered them wearing a D class uniform, and that their hair was a different color. Dr. Michaels is being interviewed further.

Testing log 33

Subject: D-4481

[BEGIN LOG]
(Subject speaks the counterphrase. Subjects arm is replaced with a new limb, a series of 20-30 thin worm-like appendages resembling lamprey eels, protruding from a organic mass at the shoulder.)

Sova: Guard! Fire!
(Dr. Sova and Dr. Thompson retreat through the main door. The stationed guard fires at subject until they ceased moving. Despite the subjects apparent death, the appendages continue to consume subjects body, and attempt to drag themselves and the subject to the main door.)
(The guard retreats, and the door is secured. Two Containment specialists equipped with flamethrowers are requisitioned, with the threat quickly dispatched. The remains are taken for further analysis.)

Addendum
Sova: Todays test was nothing like what we have seen before. We assumed based on prior tests that SCP-XXXX was only dangerous to the test subject, but it is clear that SCP-XXXX is extremely unpredictable. I will put in a request for a Class B Secure Testing Room. A Class B may be above requirements, but after todays incident I believe it is justifiable. If necessary I will discuss the issue directly with the Site Director.
Recommended changes to testing procedures: Use of Class B Secure Testing Room. Only have subject present in the testing room and interviewer to communicate via intercom. Request 1 (One) Containment Specialist to be on call during testing.
