Item #: SCP-4564
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4564 is impossible to contain by nature (see description). As of now, SCP-4564 houses at a standard 6.1 m by 6.1 m (20 feet by 20 feet) room at Site-17 with minimal security, since it spends most of its time outside its containment. SCP-4564 is currently allowed to freely roam Site 17 provided it refrains from interfering with the work of other foundation personnel. During this time it is to be followed by 1 foundation security guard outfitted with infrared goggles as to better track SCP-4564 if it travels through a wall.
In return for its cooperation to the Foundation, reasonable requests for items and modifications to its containment suite may be granted upon approval by a Site Director. To date, SCP-4564 has requested:
- One Voice-activated speaker (granted with limited internet access)
- One TV capable of interfacing with the voice-activated speaker (granted)
- Audiobooks capable of being played on the voice-activated speaker (granted with the condition of
pre-screening the books; new book granted every 2 weeks)
- Said books printed fully onto large sheets of paper (granted)
SCP-4564 requires no other sustenance or conditioning normally required for a living being, such as water, food, warmth, or air.
Description: SCP-4564 appears to be a Caucasian human male with some Asian heritage in his late teens, of average height and slender build. its hair and eyes are both black, with no noticeable body marks. It claims its name is ‘Daniel Grey’ (Age: 18), but no record exists of such individual. Photographic and long term observational analysis indicates that any form of metabolism, aging, or change is non-existent for SCP-4564.
SCP-4564 is noted for its intangibility. It has no physical effect on anything around it. It is completely intangible, passing through every solid object whether it wants to or not. As is the case, it is impossible to study anything directly physical about SCP-4564.
SCP-4564 has described how it stays still as matching its position with the rotation of the earth and has displayed the ability to float and phase in any direction. The limits of this ability are not yet known, and no further tests have been done regarding this after Experiment-4564-02. (see both Interview-4564-1 and Experiment-4564-1 and 2 for additional information displayed in this paragraph)
SCP-4564 is visible to subjects that uses visible light as a source of navigation. SCP-4564 has also been shown to reflect small amounts of electromagnetic radiation. As a result of this property it is able to be viewed by technologies utilizing the electromagnetic spectrum as sight, this includes Infrared goggles, and Radar. SCP-4564 claims to feel warmth but is shown to have no discernible figure on thermal imaging cameras. This leads to the conclusion that SCP-4564takes the immediate temperature of its environment. Echolocation does not work on SCP-4564, as does smell or physical contact. However, SCP-4564’s vocals are completely audible, although it is unknown how it creates sound waves as it should not be able to interact with the air molecules around it. SCP-4564 itself can hear, smell, and see everything around it. SCP-4564 is not able to feel or taste anything, but it is aware of those senses and has some memory of the senses.
SCP-4564 claims that it used to be tangible, and due to an ‘accident’ it does not remember, it became intangible. While SCP-4564 does not remember any specific event before its ‘accident’, when asked of the knowledge of things it should not be able to know after its ‘accident’, such as how things taste or simple academic knowledge, it remembers the things, but not how or when it obtained such knowledge.
While SCP-4564 claims to be agnostic, it follows the morals of Christianity and is aware of the concepts and lessons of Roman Catholic churches. SCP-4564 generally doesn’t cause a lot, if any trouble to the Foundation, and seems content with the state that it is in.
SCP-4564 is currently used in minor experiments with other large SCPs to explore the insides of said SCPs.
Audio log from Interview-4564-1:
Interviewer: Dr. ███ Interviewed: SCP-4564 Date: 26/4/████
<Begin Log>
Dr. ███: Alright, SCP-4564, are you ready to start your interview?
SCP-4564: Please, just call me Daniel. Or Danny. Either one will do.
Dr. ███: I’m sorry, SCP-4564, but that would be against protocols.
SCP-4564: I didn’t realize everyone was a bureaucrat, Dr. ███.
Dr. ███: Can we proceed to the questions, SCP-4564?
SCP-4564: Sure. why not. I’m getting a new book for this anyway.
Dr. ███: If you are completely intangible, how is it that you don’t faze through the floor?
SCP-4564: Well, I am. I’m actually floating. I’m not standing on anything, I’m just in the space level
with the floor of this building.
Dr. ███: Is this a coincidence that you are at the same level as the flooring of Site-17?
SCP-4564: No, I can float up and down through space. Watch me. (SCP-4564 is seen floating up to faze its head through the ceiling, before coming down to faze its legs under the floor) I just choose to be always at level with the ground to imitate normal movement.
Dr. ███: This is certainly most helpful, SCP-4564.
SCP-4564: Seriously, can you stop with the SCP-4564 thing? How would you like it if someone called
you by a number instead of a name your mother thoughtfully gave to you?
Dr. ███: How do you know that your name was given by your mother?
SCP-4564: I don’t. I’m assuming. Are you questioning the existence of my mother?
Dr. ███: We’re moving on. Why is it that you do a walking motion while floating through the air then?
SCP-4564: Why do people swing their arms around when they walk, doctor? I don't know, it feels natural.
Dr. ███: How is it that you don't get lost in space with the Earth rotating and revolving around the sun?
SCP-4564: I’m not sure how to answer that, doc. I guess my body is unconsciously moving along with this planet that’s revolving at 900 miles an hour. And I’m orbiting at 90 miles a second, so it’s reckoned.
Dr. ███: Alright, final question then. How fast is your floating, and how high or low can you go?
SCP-4564: I’m not sure…Why don't you guys arrange an experiment for that in your free time?

Experiment-4564-01: The speed of SCP-4564
Date: 4/30/████
Test Operated by: Dr.███
Test Details: SCP-4564 will ‘run’ a 50 m track.
Test Results: SCP-4564 was able to ‘run’ the 50 m track in 7.3 seconds, around 6.8m/s.
Note: SCP-4564 is no faster than the average person. This makes it unlikely to use it for any long distance or long term expeditions. -Dr.███
Experiment-4564-02: SCP-4564’s descent into Earth
Date: 6/8/████
Test Operated by: Dr.███
Test Details: SCP-4564 will go as deep into the Earth as possible, explore what can be found there, and return. Due to SCP-4564’s rather slow speed, going to the core of the Earth and returning would take approximately 22 days, but SCP-4564 seemed to be up for the task.
Test Results: SCP-4564 returned only 16 hours after the experiment had started, claiming that it had seen something indescribable, and was under a considerable amount of stress, paranoia, and fear. As SCP-4564 claims that it did not take any rests, this would mean that it had only gone 200 km before seeing this ‘indescribable’ thing.
Note: SCP-4564 refuses to expand on what it had seen, and refuses any further experiments involving it going far into the Earth or space. While SCP-4564 is a playful and mischievous entity, it seems very fascinated by the development of science and the Foundation’s doing, so it is unlikely that it is lying. Further inspection and research into the depth of the Earth’s core is pending clearance –Dr.███
Experiment-4564-03: Exploring the insides of SCP-914
Date: 7/1/████
Test Operated by: Dr.███
Test Details: SCP-4564 is to venture into SCP-914, hopefully discovering something new about SCP-914 that the Foundation was previously unaware.
Test Results: No useful results. SCP-4564 has spent around 30 minutes inside SCP-914 and has only seen the ‘Mainspring’, the ‘Selection Panel’, and no other parts worth noticing. Gears, springs, belts, tubes, and “those things that move up and down“ (“Sorry, I don’t know anything about mechanical engineering” -SCP-4564, presumably pistons) made by “silvery-white metal” (presumably tin), “red-brown metal” (presumably copper), “something that looks like steel” (presumably steel), along with non-metal items such as wood and cloth have been noted by SCP-4564, so overall, no new information has been found.
Notes: While it is unsatisfactory to learn that no new information has been found by SCP-4564, it is clear that on further experiments, SCP-4564 should be educated on the subject matter it is going to faze through, or so God help me when interpreting its choice of words. -Dr.███
