Image of SCP-6XXX during recovery
Item #: SCP-6XXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6XXX is to be kept in a sealed container made of inorganic matter in a standard containment cell. No organic material is to be allowed within SCP-6XXX's vicinity except under testing conditions. Testing is only to be conducted under the supervision of a Level 3 researcher with the approval of a Site Supervisor or other individual with Level-4 authorization or higher.
Description: SCP-6XXX is a small, well worn, wooden door approximately 0.40m in height and 0.23m in width. It has comparatively large hinges made of a unknown metallic alloy that is attracted towards flat surfaces composed of organic matter in a manner similar to that of a magnet. The principles underlying this effect are unknown and the subject of ongoing research.
When the hinges of SCP-6XXX are attached to any surface containing organic matter (ie. wood, dirt, leather), SCP-6XXX functions as a localized wormhole phenomenon. When an individual comes into contact with SCP-6XXX while in its active state, the subject will immediately shrink to a size between 0.3m and 0.39m, maintaining their bodily proportions. This effect will wear off within 48-72 hours if the affected subject is removed from contact with SCP-6XXX. If a subject affected by SCP-6XXX attempts to open the door, they will find that it opens to a random location within a 6km2 forested grove designated SCP-6XXX-1. All attempts to locate SCP-6XXX-1 have been unsuccessful and its lack of GPS satellite coverage make it unlikely to be located on planet earth. No radio transmissions or other forms of electromagnetic radiation are able to pass through SCP-6XXX.
Time within SCP-6XXX-1 is asynchronous with that of Foundation observers, with one (1) minute for research staff being approximately equivalent to one (1) day for SCP-6XXX-1. As a result, observers looking through SCP-6XXX while open see SCP-6XXX-1 cycle through its day-night cycle once per minute.
If an affected subject enters SCP-6XXX-1, they will make contact with SCP-6XXX-2 after a period of time between thirty to forty (30-40) seconds. After initial contact, several instances of SCP-6XXX-2 will forcibly take the subject to a city of medieval architecture an unknown distance away.
SCP-6XXX-2 are a species of indigenous life forms resembling depictions of dwarves from Germanic folklore. They are between 0.2m and 0.35m in height and have been known to display several anomalous properties when provoked. These range from mild invisibility to a range of significant offensive capabilities.
While SCP-6XXX is not affixed to any organic matter, its anomalous properties remain dormant.
Authorized personnel may refer to expedition logs 6XXX-I through 6XXX-VII for transcripts of Exploration I - VII.
Addendum: Between the dates of ██████████ and █████████, Foundation personnel under the direction of Dr. [REDACTED - Michael Edison] with the approval of Site Director ████████ of Site-████████ oversaw several D-class expeditions through SCP-6XXX.
