SCP-xxxx.

Special Containment Procedures: While not in use, SCP-xxxx is to be rolled and contained in a conventional chart storage tube locked within a TRTL-90X6 rated safe. SCP-xxxx may be contained ashore at any containment site, or on board a Foundation naval vessel. When stored on board a vessel, the vessel is designated as SCP-xxxx-A. SCPS Hurricane is currently designated as SCP-xxxx-A. Paper and digital logs shall be maintained and updated whenever SCP-xxxx is removed from containment. Log entries shall reflect the time and purpose of removals. No liquids are allowed in the vicinity of SCP-xxxx.

Description: SCP-xxxx is a 1.2m x 0.8m Mercator projection nautical chart. While SCP-xxxx is on board a naval vessel (SCP-xxxx-A), ink appears on the chart to display the surrounding navigational data relative to SCP-xxxx-A. This includes land, sea, depth soundings, and towns and cities along the coast. The names of landmarks and establishments are not current, but instead reflect the common names used during the late 1600's.

Enhanced visualization of signature found on the back of SCP-xxxx.

The scale of SCP-xxxx decreases as SCP-xxxx-A sails out to sea, and increases as SCP-xxxx-A approaches shore. Reported scales fall between 1:50,000 to 1:1,200,000. A black skull is drawn in the position of the SCP-xxxx-A. The black skull follows the vessel's position on the chart with precise accuracy, as confirmed by both land and sea GPS units. European military vessels are shown on the chart as maroon triangles, with a small depiction of their country's flag trailing closely behind. During initial examination, researchers found what appears to be a small handwritten signature on the back side of SCP-xxxx. The signature reads "Teach". Speculation exists as to whether or not this signature belongs to ██████ █████, otherwise known as ██████████.

Addendum 01 - 05/02/2004: During a routine navigation training exercise, a Quartermaster on board SCPS Poseidon spilled approximately 0.2 liters of coffee on SCP-xxxx. Anomalous properties seem to be unaffected, although SCP-xxxx is now permanently stained. Containment procedures have been updated to prevent further incidents from taking place.
