Fig 1.1. SCP-XXXX.
Containment Update:
SCP-XXXX's metallic cell walls have been replaced with drywall to avoid SCP-XXXX attempting to escape by eating through them.
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be held in a Standard Insectoid Containment Cell at Site 105. A food supply consisting of several 40mm steel rods has been allocated for SCP-XXXX's survival, and must be replenished bi-weekly.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is an anomalous common whipspider (Damon diadema). SCP-XXXX differs from an ordinary Damon diadema in that it exhibits numerous anomalous properties and behaviors, all of which are listed below. SCP-XXXX is otherwise non-anomalous.
- Aviation and controlled flight, despite lacking wings of any kind.
- SCP-XXXX's will only consume steel-based objects1, and is able to digest these objects normally.
- No waste product is produced no matter how much SCP-XXXX consumes.
- Ability to communicate via a low buzzing tone that has been identified as a heavily altered and distorted variant of French. When translated, SCP-XXXX's words are nonsensical and seemingly useless.
- Complete resistance to physical harm and violence. It is believed SCP-XXXX can only die when starved.
- Emittance of a foul-smelling aroma, commonly described as "rusty mud".
Discovery:
SCP-XXXX was discovered by Foundation agents in Chicago, Illinois, who were present for an unrelated operation. It was found while emitting it's low buzzing tone next to several crushed, heavily damaged vehicles. It is presumed SCP-XXXX was in the process of consuming these vehicles for sustenance. It was then apprehended and contained.
