Attatchments: "Document XXXX-D (scp_xxxx_description.rtf)"
Warning: This is infohazardous material. You are required to amnesticize yourself after reading it, or you may be terminated, depending on the material.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a traditional African mask, constructed of rusted scrap metal, copies of which float about 1 foot behind the head of all living individuals whose area behind their head is out of direct sight to all people and all means of visual recording.
Besides ocasionally brushing against people (usually brushing against the upper back part of the head) or making odd noises such as banging, clicking, or humming, instances of SCP-XXXX do not pose any threat to the general population.
However, SCP-XXXX seems to "feed off of" a subject's feeling of being watched, and this "hunger" is especially satiated with the individual's fear of their SCP-XXXX instance, if they know it exists. This encourages the SCP-XXXX instance to gradually start to show itself by appearing in the edge of vision, which eventually, at the point of a panic attack, culminates in biting the subject in the side of the neck, at the location of left jugular artery.
At first, individuals aware that they have an SCP-XXXX instance will eventually look behind them to make sure there is nothing there, which simply causes SCP-XXXX to rotate to the place the individual was previously looking, as SCP-XXXX always follows the tilt and rotation of its individual's head. In approximately 30 percent of individuals, repeated "checking" will occur, raising anxiety. In the case of a subject standing with their back facing the wall, or with the back of the head against their chair, the head will simply rotate to be facing down on them from above.
In Type F subjects, the next time the subject looks in a mirror, they will see SCP-XXXX behind them. There is currently no known way to stop this from happening.
Spontaneous neck licking occurs when users have high anxiety due to thinking about SCP-XXXX, or those who laugh because they think it's funny. Upon covering their neck with their hands, the Head will [REDACTED]

Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in a standard Safe-class locker in Sector 9, Site-19.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an encyclopedia-sized book titled "An Introduction to Lepidopterology". Upon reading one or two paragraphs of the book, the reader will be compelled to read the entire book. Upon completion of the book, the user will [REDACTED].
If reading the entire book is denied, the user will dedicate their life to the study of butterflies.
Item #: SCP-X
Object Class: Euclid Neutralized
Special Containment Procedures: Though unnecessary, SCP-X was kept in a heavy containment chamber similar to that of SCP-682. On 6/12/XX, the chamber of SCP-X-1 was filled with nitrogen gas, terminating SCP-X-1. The procedure was reported as being "painless". The corresponding cognitohazard, SCP-X, is thought to be neutralized.
Description: SCP-X was a cognitohazard affecting a cat (Felis cattus) stored in Sector 8, Heavy Containment, Site-X.
When any human looked at the cat, designated SCP-X-1, they perceived it to be a Keter-class anomaly that was extremely dangerous and difficult to contain. Despite the mandatory policy of safely attempting to destroy such objects, Foundation personnel assigned to the object often refused any fail-safe method of terminating SCP-X-1, and enhanced interrogation always revealed a sense of affection for the object. SCP-X is considered neutralized, and affected personnel have undergone cognitohazard resistance training.
Item #: SCP-X
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X is contained in a standard 5 x 5 x 5 m chamber, with 25 cm acid-resistant steel plating, and a 1 x 1 m viewing window comprised of acid-resistant bulletproof glass. For the psychological well-being of Foundation personnel, the chamber is completely soundproof, and no noises from the inside of the chamber can be heard from the outside.
SCP-X must be fed one (1) time per day by a D-Class personnel who is completely blindfolded.
No attempt is to be made to harm or kill SCP-X, as this could result in an [REDACTED] scenario.
Description: SCP-X is a large, vaguely feline creature of unknown origin, with a fur pattern spelling out "dados therapie cat" [sic]. It is extremely dangerous, and possesses an ability to move faster than any attack directed at it, including bullets. Personnel who see SCP-X often feel extreme anxiety, which attracts SCP-X, who will then attempt to brutally maul the personnel, killing them. SCP-X will not attack anyone who has not seen it, although it will "stalk" blindfolded personnel, and prepare to kill them.
SCP-X-1 refers to a cognitohazard experienced by those who have not seen SCP-X. Upon being blindfolded and introduced to the chamber, subjects will hear meowing, and reportedly feel a small cat brushing up against them, at which point they experience a compulsion to take off their blindfold, only to be killed by SCP-X. It is thought that SCP-X uses SCP-X-1 as its method of attracting human prey.
