Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard secure locker, located within a standard non-humanoid containment cell. The cell is to be modified to remove any light sources and to be secured from any reflected or refracted visible light emissions. Level 3 personnel may authorise testing upon class D personnel. Any subject exposed to SCP-XXXX is to be located in the adjacent humanoid containment cell. This cell is to be modified to contain eight (8) independently controlled thirteen (13) watt LED bulbs arranged in a manner to negate the appearance of shadows. If a bulb's output drops to below one thousand (1000) lumens in an unscheduled manner, emergency gasoline generators are to brought online through an automatic safety mechanism. If the safety mechanism fails as well, the generators will be brought online manually. Under no circumstances should personnel be exposed to SCP-XXXX outside of regulated testing. (See addendum XXXX-01)
Description: SCP-XXXX is any photograph, digital or physical, containing SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is a matte black humanoid approximately 1.89 meters in height. An exaggerated human grin can be observed as well as two (2) white, roughly spherical eye analogs. It's currently unclear as to if the analogs assist in vision or not, as the entity seems to have no trouble navigating rooms where no light source is present. SCP-XXXX-1 will only manifest is certain requirements are met. A human subject must view SCP-XXXX. The instance of SCP-XXXX must remain intact until the imprint process is complete. The imprint process is completed when a human subject first maintains visual contact with the SCP then, when visual contact is broken the imprint process is complete. The visual cue of SCP-XXXX-1 disappearing from SCP-XXXX will signify the imprint is complete. SCP-XXXX-1 will then manifest in an area relative to the imprinted subject if a significant difference of light levels exist. The entity will manifest in the area that darker relative to the environment. There is no definite Δlx to known as of now. (9/13/███8) The entity is extremely hostile to the subject it has imprinted upon. If there is no opportune area for SCP-XXXX-1 to manifest, it will then exhibit an extremely rudimentary control over electrical systems. SCP-XXXX-1 is capable of draining a currently unknown amount of electrical current. As of now, a bluntforce method is suffice to keep SCP-XXXX-1 from manifesting in an unscheduled environment. When the entity has manifested in a three dimensional space, the SCP will begin to approach its imprinted target moving at a speed of approximately two (2) meters per second. While SCP-XXXX-1 shows slight aversion to radiation of the visual spectrum, it shows no qualms of passing through areas bathed in visual light to reach its target. The entity however, shows an acute aversion to radiation of shorter wavelength. Even going to the point of temporary demanifestation in the presence of radiation with a wavelength shorter than ten (10) nanometers. SCP-XXXX-1 has been shown to have a mass of ██kg, and is affected by physical objects and projectiles, such as bullets. While conventional firearms will not induce permanent damage upon the entity, but can cause demanifestation as intense radiation does. Once SCP-XXXX-1 reaches its target, it's control over electoral systems is greatly exaggerated. Most lights will cease functioning for multiple seconds. This effect has even been shown to be effective against non electrical systems including candles and once dimming the sun in a localized area of effect. Approximately two (2) seconds after maintaining a physical connection to the subject SCP-XXXX-1 appears to become similar to an amorphous mass. Four (4) seconds after contact the the entity can be seen [DATA EXPUNGED] and all vocalizations will cease from the subject. Both figures will disappear with SCP-XXXX-1 reappearing in
SCP-XXXX. The condition of the human subject is unknown.
Addendum XXXX-01: On 2/17/███9, approximately five months after containment, Researcher Dr. Richard █████ was exposed to SCP-XXXX in the form of a family photograph upon his desk. Dr. █████ was immediately moved to the imprinted subject holding chamber. He theorized SCP-XXXX-1 was acting upon predator instincts and had moved due to its current location being deemed inefficient. The ethics committee agreed that one (1) D class personnel should be allocated to the containment of SCP-XXXX every three (3) months. On 2/20/███9 bulb seven failed, and Dr. █████ was classified as KIA.
