SCP-4241 during Test 3
Item #: SCP-4241
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4241 remains at Site-██'s harbor of its own volition. No fewer than four armed guards may be posted to guard the harbor entrance. No fewer than two Foundation fast attack craft are to patrol Site-██'s harbor. All civilian vessels that approach Site-██ are to be intercepted and diverted from the area. Lethal force is authorized in the event of noncompliance. Under no circumstance should any personnel board SCP-4241 unless approved by two Level-4 personnel. Under no circumstance should any Foundation personnel that were former citizens of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) be assigned to Site-██ (see Incident 4241-01). Further efforts to contain SCP-4241 have been deemed unnecessary due to its nature. In the event that SCP-4241 dematerializes or leaves the facility, Mobile Task Force Gamma-6 "Deep Feeders", Mobile Task Force Iota-10 "Damn Feds", and Mobile Task Force Nu-7 "Hammer Down" are to mobilize and commence Procedure 115-Epsilon (see Addendum 4241-03).
Description: SCP-4241 is a United States Navy Arleigh-Burke Class Destroyer bearing no identification markings or insignia except for the flag of the United States of America that is hoisted on its mast. The interior of SCP-4241 is similar to other vessels of its class, however, several components are missing or replaced. The bridge is completely bare with no control mechanisms or systems. SCP-4241 does not seem to require ammunition or fuel based upon Foundation testing or at least is able to replenish munitions by unknown means (see Addendum 4241-04).
SCP-4241 is sentient and autonomous, being able to utilize all systems without any human operation or assistance. SCP-4241 exhibits high intelligence and understanding. SCP-4241 has an estimated IQ ranging from 133-142. SCP-4241 is extremely compliant with Site-██ staff, showing loyalty to both the United States of America and the Foundation. Request for change of Object Class to Keter-Thaumiel pending approval of 05-Council.
SCP-4241 is able to materialize and dematerialize at will. SCP-4241 can materialize anywhere within an approximate 16.0934 km (10 m) radius of its previous materialization. Time between observed dematerialization and materialization events has ranged from (30) minutes to (4) hours. SCP-4241 does not appear on radar or sonar, making it tracking by conventional means impossible. However, a tracking device attached to SCP-4241 allows for location while materialized.
SCP-4241's armament is similar to that of a standard vessel of its class. However, SCP-4241 possesses several BGM-109A Tomahawk Land Attack Missile-Nuclear (TLAM-N). It is believed that a majority of the onboard Tomahawk missiles contain nuclear warheads. SCP-4241 also possesses two MH-60R Seahawk LAMPS III helicopters which only have only been observed to materialize once.
SCP-4241 contains several humanoid figures. These instances are referred to as SCP-4241-A and SCP-4241-B. All instances appear as faceless humanoids. SCP-4241-A instances bear the US Naval Working Uniform Type I (NWU) and appear to serve the purpose of enlisted personnel. SCP-4241-B instances bear the US Naval Working Uniform Type I (NWU) with officer insignia and appear to serve the purpose of officers. These instances do not seem to any perform duties besides maintenance. SCP-4241-A and SCP-4241-B instances appear and disappear randomly. No current reason for this has been found. Whether these instances are sentient is unclear. These instances do not leave SCP-4241. These instances will leave SCP-4241 to engage land based hostiles. (See Incident Report 4241-25)
Addendum 4241-01: Initial Appearance Report
The appearance report on SCP-4241 has been compiled from recordings and files recovered from ███ sunken USSR █████████ Class destroyers on ██/██/19██.
SCP-4241 was first reported at the edge of the Barents Sea by USSRS ███████, assumed to be a US destroyer attempting to observed USSR military operations. USSRS ███████████ and USSRS █████████ were ordered to intercept and escort SCP-4241 out of the area. Both ships attempted to contact SCP-4241 with no response. Upon approach, SCP-4241 began to fire upon both ships, utilizing its BGM-109A Tomahawk Land Attack Missile-Nuclear (TLAM-N), effectively sinking both within minutes. A total of ███ USSR Naval personnel were lost.
The remaining ship, the USSRS ███████, contacted █████████ Naval Base before retreating further into the sea. Approximately five minutes later, SCP-4241 dematerialized, causing immense confusion aboard the remaining ship, which reported the anomaly to █████████ Naval Base. A Foundation agent embedded in the USSR's navy stationed at █████████ Naval Base notified the Foundation of the anomalous event.
Both the US and Soviet governments were preparing for retaliatory attacks. The Foundation quickly communicated with both governments and informed them of the situation. Both countries stood down and no information was leaked to the public. A cover story was successfully fabricated detailing an illegal nuclear weapons test by the USSR.
Addendum 4241-02: Recovery Report
On ██/██/19██, several Foundation, US, and NATO warships commenced Joint Operation ███████, under the guise of a joint naval exercise, to search the Barents Sea. At 17:32:, SCP-4241 materialized approximately 175 meters from DDG-53 USS John Paul Jones and Foundation Naval Ship (FNS)-13██. Aboard SCP-4241 were several instances of SCP-4241-A and SCP-4241-B, appearing to salute both vessels. The USS John Paul Jones flashed morse code to SCP-4142, ordering it to identify itself. SCP-4142 responded in the same fashion, stating "I am USS ██████-████████ / navigation systems under repair / require guidance to Norfolk Naval Base". FNS-13██ then ordered SCP-4142 to stand down, which was met with compliance.
[DATA EXPUNGED] by order of the 05 Council.
SCP-4142 was escorted to Site-██ on ██/██/19██ after being relinquished by the United States Navy.
Addendum 4241-03: Initial Testing
Test 1- Exploration
Two (2) D-Class personnel, D-5412 and D-9823, were ordered to board SCP-4241. Each was given a body camera, Geiger counter, and Level 2 CBRN gear out of fear of a case similar to SCP-595. Exploration of the vessel yielded that it was internally similar to other vessels of its class save for the bridge, which was empty. An inspection of munitions aboard SCP-4142 found that it was fully stocked as if it had been replenished. After a thorough search of the vessel, the D-Class personnel were ordered to return and did so without incident.
Test 2- Communication Attempts
Communication was attempted with SCP-4142 through radio transmission, flag signals, and morse code using lights by a Foundation vessel.
- Test 2.1: Foundation vessel attempted to hail SCP-4241 by means of radio. Result-No signals were returned by SCP-4241.
- Test 2.2: Foundation vessel attempted to communicate with SCP-4241 by means of signals flags. Result-An instance of SCP-4241-A materialized with signal flags. Signals received by the SCP-4241-A instance translated as "My radio and communication equipment have malfunctioned. Requesting a replacement." The Foundation vessel responded with inquiring about the nature of SCP-4241, however, the message was repeated and the SCP-4241-A instance dematerialized.
- Test 2.3: Foundation vessel attempted communication by way of morse code using lights. Result- An SCP-4241-A instance materialized on SCP-4241's onboard searchlight. The instances proceeded to signal the same message received during Test 2.2 before dematerializing.
Test 3- Integration of Communication Equipment
The 05-Council approved SCP-4241's request for communication. Standard communication equipment was provided and dropped on SCP-4241's helicopter pad. Result- Several SCP-4241-1 instances materialized. Said instances proceeded to procure the dropped equipment and then dematerialized. Approximately seven (7) minutes after the instances dematerialized, SCP-4241 utilized provided equipment to communicate with the present Foundation vessel, stating "Thank you. My radio equipment has been fully repaired. Standing by for orders." Foundation vessel attempts to question SCP-4241, but it was unable to provide any information regarding its origin.
Test 4- Weapon Testing
SCP-4241 is escorted to the ██████ Sea for testing. SCP-4241 was ordered to fire upon a designated target with all available weapons excluding nuclear weapons. SCP-4241 complied and fire each of its weapons. Analysis indicates that no munitions had anomalous effects. SCP-4241 was then order to expend all ammunitions. SCP-4241 complied, firing for one (1) hour straight before being order to stop. When questioned on remaining munitions, SCP-4241 stated that it could not expend or dispose of munitions. It is currently theorized that SCP-4241's munitions are regenerative to some effect, allowing it access to ammo indefinitely.
Incident 4241-01
On ██/██/████, several D-Class personnel were transported to Site-██, several including former USSR military members.
At 09:52, two (2) MH-60R Seahawk LAMPS III helicopters materialized on SCP-4241's helicopter deck. Several instances of SCP-4241-A instances dressed in combat gear similar to that of United States Navy SEALs. Each aircraft proceeded to take off and approach Site-██. A review of system data shows that no signatures were detected.
At 10:07, several instances of SCP-4241-A performed a fast-rope insertion on to Site-██'s detention facility. The instances proceeded to use explosive charges to breach the facility, triggering a site lockdown. Security personnel mobilized assuming a containment breach by SCP-███. The SCP-4241-A instances advanced into the facility until reaching the holding cells of most recently transferred D-Class. The instances then incapacitated, restrained, and captured D-7673, D-7891, and D-7934, then executed the remaining ██ D-Class in the wing. Files of all deceased D-class showed a common factor, former members of the USSR military with extensive criminal records.
At 10:18, the SCP-4241 instances and the captured D-Class exited the building and were extracted by helicopter. A firefight ensued between the instances and onsite security. It was observed that the instances only used suppressive fire techniques against security personnel.
At 10:33, the two (2) Seahawks landed on SCP-4241's helicopter deck. The D-Class prisoners were escorted by the SCP-4241-A instances into SCP-4241. After all instances were inside, the two (2) Seahawks dematerialized.
At 10:39, Foundation personnel and vessels surrounded SCP-4241 and ordered that it stand down. SCP-4241 did not comply, instead stating through radio communication that its prisoners were to be interrogated and terminated. Onsite Commander ordered that no action be taken to rescue taken D-Class.
At 11:21, six (6) SCP-4241-A instances escorting the D-class prisoners, followed by a SCP-4241-B instance exited on to the helicopter deck. The D-Class prisoners were executed by the SCP-4241-B instance by gun shot and then throw into the sea.
