A small portion of SCP XXXX

Item #: SCP XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The area in and around SCP XXXX is to be monitored and patrolled by at least 20 containment personnel, containment personnel are advised to not stare into SCP XXXX for an extended period of time. Any attempted access by non-foundation personal should be denied. Reasons given should follow cover story 84a (Hazardous area due to high percentage of Widowmaker trees.) if non-foundation personal still attempts entry they are to be shot with a tranquilizer and moved far outside of SCP XXXX's containment zone.

Containment personnel should avoid entering within 50 metres of the containment zone unless absolutely necessary. Any person who has gray skin within a 10 kilometre radius of SCP XXXX should be contained and all attempts to persuade containment personnel should be ignored. Furthermore trees should not be allowed to grow within a 1 kilometer radius of SCP XXXX in order to avoid a spread of its anomalous effects.

Description: SCP XXXX is forest of dead trees in █████ with a rough size of ██km². It is unknown how long these trees have been dead however whatever has afflicted them seems to only affect one species consistently.

The area of SCP XXXX contains anomalous entity/s of which can seemingly only move by physically manifesting from one tree to the next, this transition can take less than █ seconds even if it is from one end of SCP XXXX to the other. This entitiy/s will now be designated SCP XXXX-1. It is actually unknown whether there are multiple designations of SCP XXXX-1 however there has only been one manifestation of SCP XXXX-1 seen at a time. Manifestations of SCP XXXX-1 can be recognized by a matte gray coloring as well as a noticeable bubbling under the surface of the tree it currently occupies. It is unknown how SCP XXXX-1 moves from tree to tree but it is theorized it somehow moves through the tree roots underground. If any living creature approaches a manifestation of SCP XXXX-1, several tendrils will rupture from its surface and attempt to █████ its body, most commonly going for the ████. Once its “prey” has been captured SCP XXXX-1 will begin to ████████ the “prey” by dragging it into the tree it occupies. Containment personnel should also be advised that the tendrils have been recorded to reach over ██ meters so avoiding proximity to the trees is not a valid strategy to avoid being ████.

SCP XXXX-1 will later release the corpse of its prey, noticeable differences include the same gray tint to its skin as well as all prior wounds being completely healed. It will also still be wearing any clothing it had prior to its death however any damage that was caused by SCP XXXX-1 will remain, this suggests that it cannot replicate non-living material. The expelled corpse hereby designated SCP XXXX-2 will then rise and attempt to leave the area of SCP XXXX. If allowed to exit SCP-XXXX-3 will begin a search for other living creatures. Upon meeting another human it will attempt to persuade this person to follow them back to a manifestation of SCP XXXX-1 where the assimilation process will be repeated. It should be noted that SCP XXXX-2 entities will most commonly approach family or friends suggesting SCP XXXX-1 can make use of its hosts memories. SCP XXXX-2 subjects have shown a reasonable degree of intelligence, avoiding those it deems to be containment personnel even in completely new hosts, this suggests SCP XXXX-2 entities share memories with SCP XXXX-1. SCP XXXX-1 has also shown the ability to assimilate smaller animals such as birds and mice, however upon expulsion from the tree they remain dead. SCP XXXX-2 entities do not share any abilities with SCP XXXX-1 and are vulnerable to any attack. If a SCP XXXX-2 entity fails in finding another suitable host for SCP XXXX-1 it will locate a forested area and begin a rooting process, at all costs this should not be completed. During the rooting process it begins to turn into a SCP XXXX-1 entity at first it will resemble a sapling, it rapidly grows over the space of ██ days into a full SCP XXXX-1 entity.

Attempts at chopping down the trees in SCP XXXX have only been met with failure as the trees regrow and any wood collected for containment disintegrates during transport. Similarly captured entities of SCP XXXX-2 will disintegrate if kept in Foundation care for longer than ██ days.

Addendum XXXXa: SCP XXXX was discovered by foundation personnel after ██ entities of SCP XXXX-2 were found forcing the population of a small village in ███████ towards SCP XXXX in ██/██/19██
