Special Containment Procedures: The entity is to be contained in a windowless steel cube, only being able to be accessed by a thick steel door, with no CCTV to be used at any time. The cell must contain at least 4 magnetic-wave disruptors, and any subject or personnel entering the cell must be accompanied by at least two armed officials.
In the case of a breach, armed personnel will be directed to the entities location, and will open fire on the entity. If the MTF is able to sedate the creature, it will be taken to it’s cell. If it is able to get through the MTF, personnel will be assigned to the breach shelter, and explosives must be taken to hand. This is a last resort because the explosives may breach or destroy other containment cells.
Description: SCP-7683 is 6 metre long creature which resembles a dinosaur of sorts, however the SCP is a dark black, with rounded scales, and mainly quadrupedal, although it can go bipedal at will. SCP-7683 is very hostile.
Upon contact with a subject of any kind that is further than 6 metres from the SCP, the SCP’s eyes will turn dark purple. After multiple tests, it has been confirmed that it kills prey by “deceiving” them, causing the subject to hallucinate. It is predicted it does this by affecting the magnetic waves nearby, causing the blood flow to the brain of the subject to cut down.
The subject will start seeing things that are not real, causing the subject to be killed by SCP-7683
without making the entity need to move.
An interview with a survivor of one of these attacks gave an interesting conclusion to the ways the entity thinks:
Interviewer: You are being interviewed because you are one of the few survivors of the breach of SCP-7683. Tell me what you saw, and what happened.
[DATA EXPUNGED]: Well, when the breach alarms went off, I did what most Class-D’s would do, which was do what the guards told us to do. We made our way to the Breach Shelter when it found us. It jumped at the guards, and started ripping them apart.
Interviewer: What happened next?
[DATA EXPUNGED]: Well, I stood frozen in fear. And then, it suddenly appeared behind me, as if it had teleported. So I ran the other way.
Interviewer: You were the only survivor. What did you see?
[DATA EXPUNGED]: It turns out I was hallucinating! I ran away from what I saw, but I ended up just running into the same thing, as if it had teleported! Luckily, some more guards came, and all I could hear was shooting.
Interviewer: That is all we need to know. Security, take him back to the Class-D cells.
After the interview, more things were learnt about the SCP than ever before. The creature is able to affect magnetic waves, and it seems to hate all other forms of life. Strangely, during termination testing involving SCP-7683, the two anomalies began communicating, which caused an uncontrollable breach, resulting in 32 deaths 278 injuries.
