SCP-XXXX has several minor anomalous properties. To describe these anomalous properties, we will cover a standard interaction with SCP-XXXX in three four steps. From here on we will refer to any individual(s) interacting with SCP-XXXX as SCP-XXXX-1, and anyone else overseeing the test as the observer(s).
First, any human who holds SCP-XXXX will feel a compulsion to flip it and ask it a question. While this compulsion can be overcome by outside forces, SCP-XXXX-1 that were denied the ability to flip SCP-XXXX have reported a lingering desire to do so as much as 48 hours later. After approximately 48 hours though, the feeling subsides and no adverse side effects have been noted.
Second, while SCP-XXXX is in a position ready to be flipped, SCP-XXXX-1 have reported having time to think about what question they want to ask. However, observers view the situation as SCP-XXXX-1 immediately flipping SCP-XXXX upon readying it in hand. Through testing, SCP-XXXX-1 have reported being able to stand there for 1 hour before deciding on a question, though no time had actually passed and they were unable to move during that hour. It is unknown if there is an upper limit to how long SCP-XXXX-1 can wait as they have reported the urge to decide on a question increasing with time. SCP-XXXX-1 have also reported that while SCP-XXXX is providing a compulsion to ask a question, it is not influencing the question asked at all as they decide with a clear mind.
Second Third, while SCP-XXXX is flipped, it stays in the air for exactly 2.121809 seconds. During flipping, SCP-XXXX-1 asks their question verbally in full (see Addendum XXXX-1). Afterwards, SCP-XXXX lands perfectly within the palm of SCP-XXXX-1 and has either it's standard heads or tails side up. SCP-XXXX-1 then reports feeling the compulsion to flip SCP-XXXX once more onto the back of the opposite hand that SCP-XXXX landed in. Again, though this compulsion is felt, it can be overcome by outside forces and only leaves a lingering feeling of desire to have completed the process in SCP-XXXX-1.
Third Fourth, Once the process has been complete, SCP-XXXX undergoes a change. The viewable side of SCP-XXXX initially appears completely blank without any minting it previously had. After a moment, words begin to mint themselves onto SCP-XXXX. The words minted onto SCP-XXXX are the answer to the question asked in the truest sense possible. Whether or not SCP-XXXX landed on heads or tails before being flipped once more onto the back of the hand doesn't have any impact of the answer, though SCP-XXXX-1 have reported on occasion that the answer is wrong if SCP-XXXX landed on tails. (see Addendum XXXX-2) The newly minted answer on SCP-XXXX remains for 3 minutes before returning to it's original state. Interactions with SCP-XXXX during this time are non-anomalous, and no compulsions are felt by anyone interacting with it.
Whether or not a flip of SCP-XXXX results in a heads or tails result is entirely random. Tests show that as long as a different question is asked, then it will be a 50/50 chance for either outcome with no way to control it. Attempts to control the outcome result in SCP-XXXX losing its anomalous properties until it is held by a human again, in which SCP-XXXX-1 will start the process over from the beginning. In all attempts, SCP-XXXX-1 have reported a feeling of dissatisfaction knowing that the process was not complete.
While the outcome is random for different questions, repeating questions produces different results. First we have to define what a different question is and what a repeating question is. Asking, "What am I looking at?" while looking at an apple, and then asking with the exact same wording while looking at a banana constitutes a different question, despite the same wording. Conversely, asking, "What am I looking at?" while looking at an apple, and then turning around and asking, "What fruit was I looking at behind me?" constitutes a repeating question, despite the different wording.
If a question is asked and the result is heads, then all repeating questions will result in heads. If a question is asked and the result is tails, then all repeating questions will result in heads, unless the process was interrupted. In this case, then all repeating questions will result in tails until the process is complete, which then results in heads on all future flips of the repeating question. Through specific testing, it has been proven that an interrupted tails result does not change reality.
Addendum XXXX-1: Upon discrepancies in interviews with SCP-XXXX-1 and further testing, it was discovered that a time dilation effect occurs at two (2) points during the interaction with SCP-XXXX. The first occurs when when SCP-XXXX-1 has SCP-XXXX in a position ready to be flipped. This is explained in the newly added second step of the process outline. The second occurs while SCP-XXXX is mid flip. Despite constant testing that has proven that the flip takes exactly 2.121809 seconds to complete, SCP-XXXX-1 have reported having exactly enough time to ask their question in full. Observers report that for lengthy questions, SCP-XXXX-1 talking is sped up.
Addendum XXXX-2: After the incident of test 11b, the interviews with SCP-XXXX-1 that have reported the question wrong have brought alarming new information about SCP-XXXX. At first, it was thought to be an anomalous effect of madness induced only sometimes if SCP-XXXX landed on tails. Further testing and more trustworthy SCP-XXXX-1 have revealed that if SCP-XXXX lands tails side up, then the answer it gives will be right but only because SCP-XXXX has completely altered reality so that the answer would be right. Only SCP-XXXX-1 has any knowledge of what reality was like before the answer. Sometimes the changes are minor enough that only the answer to the question is wrong. Sometimes entire events of history are different to accommodate the new reality created by the answering of the question. While untested due to the potential danger, it is believed that SCP-XXXX can alter the entire universe if it needs to so that it is never wrong.
