Item #: SCP-9999
Object class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9999 is to be contained in the center of a 16x16x16 meter solid cube of any safe material with atomic mass greater than or equal to iridium no less than 5 kilometers underground in stable bedrock accessible by an elevator guarded by no less than two (2) armed personnel at all times. The material must be checked routinely on a bi-weekly basis and completely changed when over 25% of the iridum has turned into hydrogen or other lighter elements, or if the amount of ESR radiation has raised to over 50HE/s, as by protocol SCP-9999A. The area where SCP-9999 is contained should be in constant surveillance via cameras and satellites, and unauthorised personnel cannot be allowed to come any closer than one (1) kilometer to the elevator. Upon detecting anomolous activity in the area, the protocol SCP-9999-C3f should take effect immeaditely and upon completion protocol SCP-9999A should be conducted as soon as possible.
Description: SCP-9999 is a red, transparent equilateral triangle, with 12.37cm long sides each and being 2.21cm thick and rounded corners. The "back" side of SCP-9999 has seven engravations that appear to be for limbs, perhaps fingers, of some sort, that are considerably longer than that of a human's. There is a visible crack on the back side, originally spanning 4.55 cm, and 9.34 cm after experimentation. The "front" side of SCP-9999 has an unknown rune engraved on it that is not found in any known language. The appearence of the rune seems to change depending on the name of the subject. It is theorized that the translation of said rune is "Welcome (user name)", but it cannot be confirmed.
Effects of SCP-9999: Upon touching SCP-9999, the object will light up in blinding red light, and the engravation on the front will change. Subject will experience intense pain, described as "a god passing through your body", and their body heat will raise severely, at a minimun of two (2) degrees Celsius and peaking at five (5) degrees Celsius. Subjects turn luminescent and somewhat transparent when first coming in contact with SCP-9999. 87% of subjects have died of hypertermia due to this effect. Loud, unknown sound, resembling thunder and the ground shaking, can also be heard around the subject, at the lowest of 60 decibels and peaking at 98. Those that pass the first phase will retain a body temperature approximently 1.45 degrees higher than their normal temperature, without suffering hypertermic effects, the engravation on the front will first change and, in a delay of approximently one (1) second, disappear. Upon letting go of SCP-9999, it will return to its original state. Those that can pass the hypertermic stage of SCP-9999 reach the state where the wielder may control energy, matter and possibly anything seemingly through somatic and telepatic actions without any confirmed limitations, except for the risk of hypertermia out of using the object. In stage two (2) of SCP-9999s effects, strikes and stripes of unknown red energy of undiscovered origin seem to emerge out of the crack of SCP-9999, and the subject is minorly luminescent in red light, which intensifies as the object is used.
Prolonged use of SCP-9999 has resulted in the following bodily anomalies a total of one (1) time (see Incident 9999-9834):
- Six closable holes in the back with an unknown organ, resembling the human lungs, connected to the blood and nerve system, that appear to be able to rapidly fill and empty themselves in a rhythm
- Seven fingers first in the users dominant hand and then the non-dominant one
- Thicker veins closer to the surface of the skin
- Skin cells that have an extremely tough purple outer side, beating the toughness of diamond, and a softer side inside
- A more slim body structure
- Muscle cells approximenlty six (6) times as effective as that of a human's
- Rapid growth to a more taller build
- An unknown organ with a high amount of nerve connections, DNA- and cell samples and all known stem cells with a few others, coated in even tougher skin
- An expanded heart with 4 more chambers, speculated to pump in a different rhythm, that would result in 2 times faster blood circulation
Addendum SCP-9999-1: Discovery
SCP-9999 was discovered in █/█/20██ when the Foundation went to investigate sudden anomalous activity in ████, Siberia after the impact of an unknown object on the ground, that the Foundation originally dismissed as an astronomical object. Four anomalies where discovered in this location, and terminated on the instant. The quick termination left close to nothing to investigate about the anomalies. The team described them as "Hostile and hideous human-like hybrids". Investigations of the corpses revealed that these anomalies were originally residents of ████. To avoid psychological damage in the team, this information was never relayed to them. From the damaged corpses the investigators deduced that these people had slowly turned into what they were found as through somewhat organised mutation. What the anomalies originally looked like could no longer be discovered.
Further investigation revealed that the area had high amounts of hydrogen and an increased amount of oxygen in the air, while the ground was devoid of snow, and was extremely soft, resembling quicksand.
These effects were discovered close to an old shack in the area. The shack had heavily detoriaited and was at risk of collapsing when the Foundation discovered it. Inside the shack the investigating team found SCP-9999 in a 2-meter deep crater in the middle. The team believed SCP-9999 to be the source of the effects due to the changes in the enviroment seemed to affect a six (6) meter radius from the object itself in a spherical fashion.
As a member of the Foundation attempted to take the object out of carelessness, they went through extreme hypertermia immeaditely after coming into contact with the object, despite wearing gloves. The team described that SCP-9999 turned brightly luminescent after being touched, temporarily blinding the surrounding personell. The team described various different versions of unknown red energy emerging from the object. SCP-9999 was knocked out of the member's hand. He survived, reaching stage two (2) hypertermia.
SCP-9999 was carefully put in a metal box with pliers and brought to Site-██.
Addendum SCP-9999-2: Experiments
SCP-9999 was completely analyzed and pictured via a robotic grappler prior to experimentation.
Experiment 9999-A1
Conducted by Dr. ████
Subject: D-93752 (Male, 20, pyromany, rape)
Procedure: Subject is placed in an empty room with SCP-9999 in the center, and given instructions to grab the object.
Experiment log:
Dr. ████: How are you feeling?
Subject: Subject speaks in a sarcastic tone. Great. Thanks for asking.
Dr. ████: Good. Let's start the experiment. Please grab the object in front of you.
Subjects hesitates, but grabs the object.
Subject screams, and the object turns brightly luminescent.
Dr. ████: Surprised. Whatever you do, do not let go of the object.
Subject does not respond, but continues screaming. The subject is luminescent in dim, red light. The object emits an unknown, strong, pushing force and the subject flies against the wall.
Dr. ████: Subject, please respond.
Subject is unresponsive. The experiment ends.
[END LOG]
Results: Autopsy of the subject reveals that he died of hypertermia. SCP-9999 appears to raise the subject's body heat by considerable amounts, resulting in hypertermia. The future subjects will be hand-picked with this is mind. Due to the numerous anomalies found in ████, experimentation must continue.

[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. ████: You are very close, D-9834. I believe this time will be it.
Subject: Agitated. How long will you torture me with this shit? You cannot control that thing!
Dr. ████: Please remain calm. Remember our contract.
Subject is silenced, and hesitates to grab the object.
Dr. ████: Please.
Subject grabs the object, turning the object brightly luminescent.
Subject is screaming as he is holding a tight grip on the object.
This continues for 12 minutes and 36 seconds, until the screams suddenly stop.
Dr. ████: Please respond.
Subject: Exhausted. I did it! *breathes heavily* I… I control the thing. Or something. *breathes heavily* What next?
Dr. ████: Please describe how you feel.
Subject: Calming down. Uhh.. Accomplished?
Dr. ████: In a more biological sense.
Subject: I am… warm and exhausted. It feels like… A foreign power is surging through my veins… Wait, the rune on the thing has disappeared!
Dr. ████: Disappeared?
Subject: Yeah, and there is this weird circle that is flashing on the front.
Subject proceeds to put their right thumb on the circle.
Dr. ████: Do not take actions without com-
Dr. ████ pauses as the object's luminescenty peaks intensively. Approximently 12 seconds pass in the light. As the luminescenty fades, the subject can be seen with unknown stripes and strikes red energy traveling on his body from his right to his left hand, with his right thumb on the front of SCP-9999 and the rest of his hand grasping it.
Subject is visibly surprised.
Dr. ████: You will be punished for your actions, D-9834.
Subject: Shut up for a moment! Can't you see that this is clear progress? I mean, I-
Dr. ████ stops the subject.
Dr. ████: How do you feel?
Subject: How I feel? Amazing. Like I could do anything.
Dr. ████: Anything?
Subject: Yeah, like, literally. Can I prove that somehow?
Dr. ████: Well, uh… Anything? What, like a miracle?
Subject rolls their eyes and gestures with his left hand, bending the metal plates on the floor off and floating them.
Dr. ████: Shocked. Do not damage Foundation equipment!
Subject looks at Dr. ████ and puts the metal plates back in prime condition.
Dr. ████: I feel like you have a bright future ahead of you, D-9834.
[END LOG]
Results: The subject has become able to uncover the true properties of SCP-9999. It is proven to be able to move and bend matter. The subject's body temperature has risen by 1.45 degrees from its healthy state, but the subject seems to be unaffected. Experimentation must continue.
Experiment K8
Chamber: Chamber is designed in effective cooling in mind, coated with metal plates and extremely effective ventilation. The starting temperature of the chamber is 10 degrees Celsius, and will be lowered if necessary. Heat sensors and cameras are installed in the chamber walls. The chamber is supplied with different materials for testing with SCP-9999.
Subject: D-9834 (Male, 19, torture and homicide, trained to withstand high body temperatures and trained in use of SCP-9999)
Procedure: Subject is given instructions to explore the limits of SCP-9999.
Experiment log:
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. ████: Good Morning, 9834.
Subject: Yeah, good morning. Shall we start?
Dr. ████: Yes. Please take the object.
Subject grabs SCP-9999 and does not experience hypertermia. The unknown energy is still present.
Dr. ████: Excellent. As your first task, I would like you to form a dining plate from the iron ingot provided in the chamber.
Subject: Easy and fun.
Subject forms a plate out of the ingot without apparent issues by harnessing the energy flow of SCP-9999, apparently using his hands to control it.
Dr. ████: Excellent. Let's continue. Can you form a flipknife for me?
Subject forms a flipknife out of an ingot without apparent problems.
The experiment continues with the subject forming a gun, a gearbox and other more complex objects. Upon later examation, it appeared that the objects did not function mechanically, but through anomalous effects, and were addressed as SCP-9999-2.
Dr. ████: You are getting better all the time, 9834. Let's continue tomorrow.
[END LOG]
Results: SCP-9999 is able to alter atomic and molecular connections in matter. SCP-9999 also seems to be capable to creating foreign, undistinguished matter not yet known by the Foundation, that does not appear to form out of any known particles, and is also capable of causing anomalous effects and properties.
Experiment K9
Chamber: Chamber is designed in effective cooling in mind, coated with metal plates and extremely effective ventilation. The starting temperature of the chamber is 10 degrees Celsius, and will be lowered if necessary. Heat sensors and cameras are installed in the chamber walls. The chamber is supplied with a machine capable of analyzing molecular and atomic properties of materials, and a screen to provide clearer instructions to the subject.
Subject: D-9834 (Male, 19, torture and homicide, trained to withstand high body temperatures and trained in use of SCP-9999)
Procedure: To test the amount of energy and the possibility of creating matter out of nothing with SCP-9999, while avoiding anomalous properties.
Experiment log:
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. ████: Let's begin.
Subject: Yessir. What's it for today?
Dr. ████: I would like you to create a gold bar for me.
Subject is confused.
Subject: A gold bar?
Dr. ████: Precisely. We have provided you with the atomic structure of gold. Please use it as a reference. Can you do it?
Subject ponders for a moment, and suddenly forms a gold bar with SCP-9999 out of seemingly nothing.
Subject: What… is this thing?
Dr. ████: That is what we are trying to figure out. Please put the bar on the machine.
Subject complies. The machine identifies the bar as gold, with no apparent anomalous properties.
Dr. ████: Excellent. I am going to list materials to you. Please create a sample of each one and put them through the machine.
Subject complies and is instructed of creating hydrogen, iron and uranium. All of them are confirmed to be their respective element as they are analyzed by the machine.
Dr. ████: Alright, next one will be a little harder. Can you form dihydrogen monoxide?
Subject: What?
Dr. ████: Water.
Subject: Oh.
Subject creates a sample of water without issue. Analysis confirms the molecular structure to be correct.
Dr. ████: Interesting. I will provide you with instructions of a standard 9mm pistol on the screen. Please follow them and assemble a gun.
Subject: Say, why do I have to follow the instructions? I can do it without them.
Dr. ████: The last gun you created is not mechanical, and appears to work via unknown effects. In other words, you created an anomalous object that functioned as a gun.
Subject: Oh…
Subject complies and creates a standard issue 9mm-pistol. Upon further examation, it is revealed to be completely mechanical.
Dr. ████: Alright. Next up, I would like you to create a cellphone.
Subject: A cellphone? Okay.
Dr. ████: Without intstructions.
Subject: What? Why?
Dr. ████: To analyze it. Without instructions, you are probably going to create an anomalous object.
Subject complies and creates an anomalous cellphone. Its functions are completely normal, and is stored with other instances of SCP-9999-2 on Site-██.
Dr. ████: We are done again. See you tomorrow.
[END LOG]
Results: SCP-9999 is capable of creating elements out of nothing and control them seemingly completely, but can also create anomalous objects that work with concepts rather than science. It was proven that the two prior instances of SCP-9999-2 were created out of the lack of understanding.
Experiment K10
Chamber: Chamber is designed in effective cooling in mind, coated with metal plates and extremely effective ventilation. The starting temperature of the chamber is 10 degrees Celsius, and will be lowered if necessary. Heat sensors and cameras are installed in the chamber walls. The chamber is supplied with a machine capable of analyzing molecular and atomic properties of materials, and a screen to provide clearer instructions to the subject.
Subject: D-9834 (Male, 19, torture and homicide, trained to withstand high body temperatures and trained in use of SCP-9999)
Procedure: Attempting to create advanced substances with SCP-9999.
Experiment log:
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. ████: Are you ready?
Subject: Wait a little. I gotta clear the chamber.
Dr. ████: Clear? Clear of what?
Subject: The air is unbreathable and the metal plates are somewhat damaged.
Dr. ████: Damaged? By what? Explain yourself. The Foundation has maintenanced the chamber just today.
Subject: I… I don't know! Let me just fix them quickly, so we can end the experiment.
Dr. ████ looks at the subject.
Dr. ████: 9834, what happened to your right hand?
Subject: My hand?
Dr. ████: Yes. You currently have seven fingers.
Subject: Oh, yeah. I edited it a little so it would be easier to use this thing.
Dr. ████: I have already warned you about taking actions without permission.
Subject: Shut up! This is so much easier this way.
Dr. ████: You are in no position to command me, 9834. Remember our contract?
Subject: You cannot get rid of me, ████. I am the only one capable of controlling this thing!
Dr. ████: I can always find another subject, 9834.
Subject is agitated by ████.
Subject: What if I destroy this thing, huh? What then?
Dr. ████: You cannot, and you are fully aware of that.
Subject: Fuck you!
Dr. ████: Please calm down, or I will have you terminated.
Subject: Terminated? subject laughs loudly. You cannot terminate me. Go ahead and try.
Subject grasps SCP-9999 tightly, shaping the unknown energy into a spherical fashion around him. Dr. ████ is shocked, but tries to calm the subject.
Dr. ████: 9834. Please. Let's calm down. We must continue the experiments.
Subject: You know what I think of your fucking experiments?
An audible bang disrupts the voice feed.
Dr. ████: 9834! What are you do-

Addendum SCP-9999-3: Incident 9999-9834
During Experiment K10, D-9834, the test subject continued on a rampage with SCP-9999. Camera feed documented D-9834 killing Dr. ████. Upon observing the cameras, D-9834 seemed distressed, and cut the camera feed. Later investigation confirmed this happened due to a strong electromagnetic shock, disabling all electronics on Site-██.
Assault group Omega-7 was sent to the site, and the events were observed via Foundation satellites. D-9834 had visibly changed in bodily form in a matter of minutes, and the Foundation personell on Site-██ were unable to disarm the threat. D-9834 seemed to know exactly the location of everything on the site, despite never having the ability to fully explore it, and executed all present Foundation personell in six (6) minutes.
Upon the arrival of Omega-7 and SCP-076, D-9834 appeared distressed, despite appearing impervious to all kinds of harm. Omega-7 was supplied with multiple drones equipped with video- and audiofeed and heat cameras, revealing D-9834s body temperature to be exceeding 78 degrees Celsius.
Over 75,000 rounds of .50 caliber bullets were fired upon D-9834 with no said success. After two (2) hours had passed in the fight, only SCP-076 and D-9834 were left in Site-██, and the Foundation had sent reinforcements. SCP-076 appeared to have increased disgust against D-9834, and described SCP-9999 as "unholy". SCP-076 never explained what he meant with this statement.
Eventually D-9834 exterminated SCP-076 by creating a pilar of stone though SCP-076s body through somatic motion. D-9834 seemed exhausted, and no longer human.
As SCP-076 got exterminated, the reinforcements came into range.
D-9834 got into a barrage of experimental railguns from six (6) directions fifteen (15) kilometers away from D-9834. After seven (7) hits, D-9834 appeared mortally wounded, but had not deceased. The few drones still operative in the area observed D-9834s body temperature to have exceeded 122 degrees Celsius. Visible regeneration in D-9834 was later uncovered from the video feed that was disrupted by intense red light originating from SCP-9999.
The railguns had shot seven times when an enourmous red detonation completely obliberated Site-██. Satellite feed confirmed D-9834 to have deceased.
The Foundation went to investigate five (5) hours later due to the extreme temperatures raging in the area. D-9834 was found in the middle of a crater spanning over 500 meters, reaching a depth of 55 meters. D-9834 had let go of SCP-9999, that had large amounts of the unknown red energy emerging from it, forming different patterns of energy in the air and on the ground. The team reported feeling nauseous and exhausted while closing in on SCP-9999, and found it difficult to breathe. Samples of the air revealed the percantage of oxygen to be low, and samples of the ground revealed the surface of the ground to have powderized into elements, like carbon, oxygen and hydrogen, that did not seem to act normally physically or chemically. A member of the team turned hostile and was exterminated, and the rest of the team was evacuated from the area.
A robot grappler with a thick metal box, coated in lead, was sent in the site in an attempt to contain the energy, that was the theorized reason for the hostile team member and unbreathable air. The robot was also equipped with sampling machinery to check the status of the air and the ground.
The operation was succesful, and after two (2) days the air had recovered the normal percentage of oxygen, and the soil appeared to act normally again. The team was resent into the area with more advanced radiation and breathing equipment, and Site-██ was dedicated to the containment of SCP-9999.
After succesfully securing SCP-9999, an autopsy was performed on D-9834, revealing numerous bodily anomalies (See Effects of SCP-9999). D-9834 deceased due to an extreme force completely smashing his brain inside his skull. D-9834s corpse was completely scorched, and his right hand (with which he used SCP-9999) was completely burned and destroyed. It is theorized that SCP-9999 caused the detonation without D-9834s attempt to do so, and the expanded crack on the backside supports this hypothesis. If this is true, SCP-9999 completely shattering could potentially destroy a whole city, or, the worst scenario, Earth. O-5 command has prohibited any and all future plans and attempts to in any way harness the capabilities of SCP-9999, despite having infinite potential.
Addendum SCP-9999-4: Containing SCP-9999
Originally SCP-9999 was sealed in a room coated with lead approximently 20 meters below the ground in constant surveillance by researchers.
After two days of surveillance, it was revealed that the lead coating the room had heavily detoriated, and that the effects of SCP-9999 were starting to affect Site-██ again.
It was revealed that after the incident, SCP-9999 started to emit radiation that created anomalous effects and broke heavier elements into lighter ones. A device using iridium as a measurer was created to measure this radiation. The researchers named this radiation ESR (for simply Element Splitting Radiation). ESR is measured in Heavy elements per second (HE) it converts into lighter ones within one cubic centimeter. It was quickly discovered that Site-██ currently had over 12,000 HE/s right after being made, and thus SCP-9999 was lowered in a 16x16x16-meter pool of molten iridium as soon as possible by O-5 command, equipped with a HE-meter inside, wired to the outside. HE/s was considerably lowered into 1,224 HE/s outside, but inside the iridium cube the HE level had risen to over one million (1,000,000) units per second, and after only a day the HE-meter inside broke.
The Foundation then funded a project to create a hole in the bedrock at least five (5) kilometers deep in the ground, with a 16x16x16 meter space in the bottom, and a three (3) meter height over the cube with a catwalk and lighting, where the object would be stored with seismologic, HE and heat sensoring.
After completion, Foundation robots cut a 2x2 meter cube of the iridium containment cube that contained SCP-9999 and lowered it into the hole five (5) kilometers underground. The old cube was reinforced and melted into smaller cubes that then were lowered and built underground to form the cube in its present containment.
HE measures on the surface have confirmed the level to have lowered into non-detectable, rendering SCP-9999 effectively harmless as long as it is routinely checked and maintenanced.
Addendum SCP-9999-5: Doctor Bright's proposal
So far all Doctor Bright's requests of using SCP-9999 in favour of the Foundation have all been dismissed. Despite Bright's immortality, SCP-9999 has too high of a risk to potentially cause a end-of-world-scenario. Doctor Bright's argument of the possibility of fixing SCP-9999 with itself has also been dismissed, despite current knowledge allowing this possibility.
