SCP-359-J
Object class : Safe
Special Containment Procedure : SCP-359-J is to be kept in a locked pistol safe away from any ammunition. Any occerance of SCP-359-1 should be terminated and bodies incinerated at the conclusion of testing.
Description : SCP-359-J is a Beretta 92 FS 9mm pistol, serial number BER43XXXX
When fired with standard commercially available 9mm ammunition, a single Microtus arvalis (Common vole) issues from the barrel. This organism (designated SCP-359-1) will be invulnerable until it hits the intended target. Upon striking the target, SCP -359- 1 will cease anomalous abilities. SCP -359- 1 is genetically identical to the nearest Microtus arvalis when SCP -359- J is fired.
Experiment 1
Pistol Expert from MTF-XXX acquired for testing. Designated "Shooter"
Utilizing laser tripwires, high-speed video camera and pressure sensing target panel.
Non-anomalous Beretta 92 FS 9mm pistol is fired 3 times at the target 20 yards away. Bullets travel with an average of 375 m/s. Bullets strike with an average of 2200 pounds of force. Bullets strike 9mm high left, 7mm lower right and 3mm low.
Firing with SCP -359- J with the same magazine and ammo. Upon firing, a single instance of SCP -359- J-1 issued from the barrel. High-Speed cameras reveal no frames of a bullet coming from the barrel. SCP -359- J-1 travels at an average of 370 m/s, striking the bullseye with 14000 pounds of force. SCP -359- J-1 is shown to be uninjured.
Experiment 2
Same as original experiment, but Shooter is on top of a 10 story building with target suspended above drop. SCP -359- J-1 strikes bullseye and dies after hitting the ground.
Experiment 3
Shooter is to shoot at an 80 degree angle from the ground. SCP -359- J-1 dies on impact with the ground.
Experiment 4
Same as Experiment 1 except a single non-anomalous microtus arvalisis kept in a sound-proofed room roughly 5 meters from Shooter. Shooter fires at target 3 times. All SCP -359- J-1 instances stirke the bullseye. Non-anomalous microtus arvalisis remains and shows no sign of distress. All SCP -359- J-1 instances are proven to be genetically identical to the non-anomalous microtus arvalisis.
Researcher Dr Miller : So its a gun that shoots voles. Sounds like someone's idea of a joke on the name of SCP-<REDACTED>
