Description: SCP-4215-J is a single episode of a fan-produced animation in the style of popular Japanese cartoons. Metadata indicates this is the 13th episode in a 15 episode run of the series. This “anime” was first discovered on a thumb drive in the site-19 cafeteria. While composed of conventional materials, this thumb drive has proven to be entirely indestructible, and the media within impossible to delete.
SCP-4215-J details a a group of individuals attending a beach-front celebration. The names, personalities, and behaviors of these characters appear to represent Foundation groups of interest, along with a “protagonist” group representing the Foundation itself. Each collective is portrayed a rival high school.
In the opening scene of this episode, the narrative undertones imply these groups are antagonistic, or at least run counter to each other’s goals, much like their real-world counterparts. Despite this, the beach trip is intended to serve as a break from the overarching plot and allow a period of levity that may be considered non-canon. I.E. a Beach Episode. The plot of the episode is centered around a series of beach-themed competitions. Some notable events include:
- A sand-castle building competition, a group of students are seen creating complex sand castles with impossible geometry, and constantly critiquing each other’s work. A jeep driven by students all dressed in camo-print swim trunks drive by, pile out, and kick these sandcastles down.
- A tall, dark haired woman reluctantly participates in a ‘bikini contest’. In secret, a group of “nerdy students” produce a glitchy, overly endowed android to challenge her. Despite this android partially exploding during the competition, a group of students wearing gears and metal cogs appear and profess their love for it.
- A water gun fight, wherein a manically laughing teacher with wild, grey hair equips his students with colorful water guns powered by some form of special anomaly. Water is invisibly transported from the nearby ocean, creating large whirlpools to shoot out unmanageable amounts of water, sea life, and students accidentally caught in the tunnels. Many individuals are seen flying out of these water guns having lost their swim attire.
- An intense game of beach volleyball between the protagonist group and a group of angry, dark-eyed rivals. The “villain” team attempt to employ anomalous means to win the game, while the protagonists utilize only pure skill and teamwork to achieve victory. Afterwards, a small group of students wearing star-spangled swim outfits challenge the winners to another game, but lack enough players to make a full team.
- A group of meek, rotund students representing are seen linking arms and protecting a patch of agave and shrubbery from being trodden on by other students during the games.
- An unknown group of students are periodically spotted swimming in the distance during several scenes, engaging in unarmed combat with aquatic wildlife.
- One group of young prodigy students are sluggish, lazy, and do not seem concerned with their performance during the beach events. Despite constantly cracking jokes and checking their phones constantly, they constantly succeed.
- A group of students with hair over their eyes, pale skin, and jagged tattoos are seen throughout the episode attempting to create demonic summoning circles in the sand. In farcical, cartoonish fashion, just before completion some other unrelated event results in the circle being destroyed. I.E. the camo-printed students driving over the circle in their Jeep, a member of the volleyball game chasing the ball falls into the circle, and at one point, a particularly large and disruptive gecko emerges from the sand, ruining the pattern.
- Throughout the episode, a group of students in “tuxedo swimsuits” are seen collecting sea shells, and then attempting to sell them to other schools under the guise that they’ “contain ocean power” that will help them win the contests. Near the end of the episode, one conch shell is revealed to contain some form of octopus monster with the ability to control minds. The schools all band together to contain this creature. The tuxedo students, when confronted afterwards, unsuccessfully attempt to bribe their way out. They are kicked off the beach.
In addition, the episode contains several more sub-plots, a great deal of gratuitous fan service, and nonsensical romantic encounters between the core protagonists and members of the rival school.
Of these protagonists, a core trio consists of a hotheaded thrill seeker who shamelessly pursues every girl he encounters, a meek but clever boy with a special charm that gets him out of deadly situations, and a bright eyed girl who’s constantly flustered with her classmates, chastising and physically assaulting them while, in secret, carrying a deep affection for them all.
Message from 05-5
“I have witnessed a world seconds from an XK failure. I’ve watched SCP-1981 17 times. I’ve been present during a successful performance of procedure 110-Montauk. I have, with bare feet, walked through SCP-2935, and felt its hollow truth in the pit of my very being.
But this?
This is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.
Bury this thing as deep as we can. If the other episodes exist, by all the Gods, find and expunge them. And If I ever find out who’s responsible for this, to hell with the mission statement, I want them shot.
