Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: 9 instances of SCP-XXXX are to be kept in cryostorage locker XXXX in the safe anomaly wing of site 64. In addition, Panama disease (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc)) has been spread by foundation agents globally to cultivars of bananas in order to reduce the occurrence of infected mutations.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomaly that effects certain varieties of bananas that allows them to act as telecommunication devices by holding them up to your face as such. No input is needed to operate SCP-XXXX, it operates wirelessly, and has no discernible maximum range. Testing has indicated that SCP-XXXX can make a connection to any device with telecommunications as an intended function.

Addendum XXXX-A: SCP-XXXX was discovered in 1872 New York City, during a demonstration of an early prototype of the modern telephone. A heckler mocked the early prototype's unclear tone and tendency to make random sounds by speaking into a banana as if it were a phone. Foundation agents at the event noted the presence of SCP-XXXX and began measures to minimize the spread of knowledge by numerous means. This includes bureaucratic measures to reduce the presence of telecommunications devices among the general populace, and eventually the widespread proliferation of the Panama disease fungus to destroy genus of bananas susceptible to SCP-XXXX.

Incident log XXXX-B: During an exploration of SCP-████ , D-7236, who had previously been exposed to SCP-XXXX, created a device with the intent of telecommunications in order to use instances of SCP-XXXX present in that exploration. Researchers, unaware of SCP-XXXX noted it as hallucinations, and using their unmonitored communications, the D-Class escaped during this test. Attempts to recapture these individuals have met with failure, and they are likely working with a GOI in order to evade recapture. They are currently classified as POI-7236-7249.
