SC-Alpha, - Beta, and -Charlie enter SCP-XXXX-1.
SC-Alpha: You all know what to do. Find out what happened to our agent. Stay on comms, watch out for anything that moves and doesn't look like it should.
SC-Charlie: This is… A lot. This place is safe right? I don't really wanna like… die on my first mission.
SC-Alpha: Then you shouldn't have gotten a job in initial exploration.
SC-Beta: We'll be fine. Where to first?
Alpha: Split up. Keep looking for boxes like the one we came out of. Make sure we know which one we came from would you, Parker?
SC-Charlie places a tracking object on SCP-XXXX. SC-Alpha goes down the alleyway and turns left, toward the Tokyo Tower. SC-Beta and SC-Charlie go down the opposite end, one turning left and the other right.
Beta: Well this'll be fun, surely. A scavenger hunt across the entirety of Tokyo.
Alpha: Try to take this a bit seriously James, someone died to send us on this mission.
After approximately 35 minutes of exploration, SC-Beta activates his communicator.
Beta: 'Cap?
Alpha: Yeah?
Beta: are you at Japan Post right now?
Alpha: No, I'm at a police station. Why?
Beta: Okay then, who's the guy who sounds exactly like you?
All Audio is overwritten by static for 10 seconds.
Charlie: What the hell was that?
Unknown Voice: Parker, James, do you copy?
Charlie: Uh… Yeah? I've been here the whole time.
Second Voice: I'm here captain.
Unknown Voice: Good. Where are you Parker, we're supposed to head towards SCP-4342's entry point.
Charlie: Captain? You sound… You sound different.
Note: The unknown voices are henceforth referred to as SC-Alpha-B and SC-Beta-B respectively.
SC-Alpha-B: So do you. The connection's been impacted somehow. Where are you? I'm At the post office.
Charlie: You said you were at a police station a minute ago…
SC-Beta-B: What are you talking about Parker? We just got here. Where are you?
Beta: Parker, Cap, do you hear me? Hello? It's dash-two. It's James. Where are you guys?
SC-Alpha-B: I'm right next to you dumbass.
Beta: What? You said you were at the police station!
SC-Alpha-B: What are you talking about?
SC-Beta-B: Captain, who are you talking to?
SC-Alpha-B: You, idiot!
SC-Beta's camera feed shows another SCP-XXXX-2 instance coming around a corner. subject will be referred to as SC-Charlie-B.
SC-Charlie-B: Sorry I took so long, I forgot something.
SC-Alpha-B: What the fuck?
Charlie: Wh- I didn't say that!
SC-Alpha's communicator turns on, however, camera feed is disabled and audio quality is low.
Alpha: Parker, James, What the hell is going on?
SC-Alpha-B: Holy shit! Parker, James, stick with me! SCP-4342-1 instances are present and hostile, Repeat, SCP-4342-1 instances are present and hostile! Requesting Backup!
SC-Alpha: Woah, woah, woah! We're not hostile! We're not… SCPs either?
SC-Beta-B: Cap, who are you talking to?
SC-Alpha-B: The Skip!
Charlie: What's happening?!
SC-Alpha-B: SCP-4342-1 instances! Stand down now!
Alpha: You're the SCPs! You stand down!
SC-Beta-B: All three of you stand down now or we will open fire
Charlie: Holy shit, all of you! Fucking relax!
SC-Beta-B: Why should we?
Charlie: Because you're all clearly us! We're the same goddamn people!
SC-Alpha-B: Yeah, except you're SCPs and we're not.
Alpha: No we aren't!
SC-Charlie-B: Yeah, you are!
Charlie: How about, neither of us are SCPs?
Alpha: They're made of cardboard though!
SC-Beta-B: What the fuck is cardboard?
Beta: What the fuck.
Charlie: Okay. Look. Let's just take a step back from each other. We'll go to this side of the station, you go to the other. We both call command, and then command can communicate.
SC-Alpha-B: It's a lot harder than that rookie. We have to anmesticize all the civilians that saw you, and we have to clean up the mess you made!
Beta: Well, we could help you with that. Just… Let us call command.
SC-Alpha-B: We're keeping our eyes on you, but alright.
SC-Alpha contacts command, and Dr. Alexander enters SCP-XXXX-1, accompanied by MTF Beta-11 "Deal Breakers". See Audio Log XXXX-A for full transcript of negotiations.
End Log.
Audio Log XXXX-A
SCP Foundation-B Representative: two SCP-XXXX-2 Instances appearing to be Dr. Alexander and O5-9. (Instances will be designated Alexander-B and O5-9-B respectively).
SCP Foundation Representative: Dr. Alexander, O5-9
Begin Log
O5-9-B: Now, who are you people and why do you claim to be us?
O5-9: We are you, from another timeline. We're here on behalf of the SCP Foundation.
O5-9-B: Foundation? Do you mean the SCP Institution? [ Pause. ] Give me one reason to believe you aren't some kind of trick.
Dr. Alexander: We're clearly from another dimension!
Alexander-B: This has been established. We know you're from another timeline, dimension, reality, whatever. But you're not Institution. We don't employ SCPs, last I checked.
O5-9: We do, but that's beside the point. Maybe you call it an "institution", but we don't. We're not from here.
Dr. Alexander: We're like this reality, but different. You're familiar with concepts of baseline, correct?
O5-9-B: You've forgotten who you're talking to twice now.
Dr. Alexander: Okay, then you should be aware that people from a different reality might be, y'know, different?
O5-9-B: Of course, but you're just too dissimilar to be from another reality.
O5-9: and what would convince you?
O5-9-B: Does a bird of stone still sing?
O5-9: Only when the moon shines on her tree.
Alexander-B: What?
O5-9-B: Christ. So you are from another reality.
Dr. Alexander: Yes, and we'd like not to have to contain yours in a more… violent manner than we need to.
O5-9-B: So what do you want to do?
Dr. Alexander: I want us to work together.
O5-9-B: That's easier to tell me than it is for me to tell my staff. They won't trust you.
O5-9: They work with people they don't trust all their lives, don't they?
O5-9-B: The idea tha-
Dr. Alexander and Alexander-B: Yes we do.
O5-9: Then they can manage.
End Log.
Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX-2 description:
SCP-XXXX-2 are cardboard cutouts with illustrations of human beings on them. All SCP-XXXX-2 instances bear an illustration of their baseline counterparts. SCP-XXXX-2 instances have established a complete societal equivalent to that of Tokyo's inside of SCP-XXXX-1, including an alternate SCP Foundation or Foundation equivalent. It is currently unknown if cities outside of Tokyo exist in SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-2 instances appearing to be counterparts of SCP Foundation are permitted to enter and exit SCP-XXXX-1 and into our baseline reality at will, and research personnel are permitted to enter SCP-XXXX-1 at will. Personnel are permitted to assist all SCP Foundation equivalent Staff in SCP testing, provided they have been granted clearance by SCP-XXXX-2 personnel. Additionally, research personnel of both SCP-XXXX-1 and baseline reality are permitted to request MTF units of both SCP-XXXX-1 units and baseline MTF units. SCP-XXXX-2 MTF units have proven practical in numerous MTF operations. (See Recovery Log 217-C for transcript of an MTF operation involving SCP-XXXX-2).
