Item #: SCP-6440
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6640 is kept at Site [REDCATED] located in [REDACTED]. [REDACTED]. SCP-6440 is to be kept in a 4 x 4 x 4 m completely copper room with a 4 x 4 x 2 copper copper room directly underneath. The room that contains SCP-6440 will have no windows and must have no wiring of any sort leading to the outside world. Given room may not have any life forms inside of it and can only have a small circle 1 cm in diameter to allow wiring into the room below. along with a steel-tight door only to be opened for maintenance once per year. There is also to be a laser system capable of detecting any movement and to alert the Foundation of a containment breach at any given moment. Such system is to be powered by 2 remote power generators in the designated room underneath. One will be active for up to 3 weeks while the other is to activate immediately before the first goes out.The active generator is to be entirely focused on the laser system, and nothing else. This room underneath has a single entrance/exit that is to only open once every 3 weeks to bring a new generator in, while the old one is to be disintegrated and under no circumstance to be used again. Containment Breaches are to be an B-Priority and and dealt with as Code: Magenta. Testing is to be under extreme strict circumstances, and can only be authorized by Doctor [REDACTED] or Doctor [REDACTED]. Test subjects can only be Class-D personnel, as testing has death rate of 100%.
Description:SCP-6440 seems to be a Ballerina Music Jewelry Box thought to originate from early to mid 1950's. The box itself measure 7 x 9 x 7 cm and made of Pine Wood dating back hundreds of years old. The box itself resembles any other Ballerina Box that was made around that time. The ballerina inside seems to resemble an ordinary ballerina with a light pink dress, pale skin, and light pink ballet shoes.
SCP-6440 does not seem to use batteries, yet still rotates when opened. The face, however is completely unknown. Any person that attempts to stare directly at it instantly forgets what just happened and after 2-3 hours, start to develop a sever dementia that lasts for the rest of the subjects life. This, however is not the full extent of anomalous properties. When left alone SCP-6440 will escape containment between 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning, generally whenever it is darkest. The SCP seems to have some bit of weakness to copper. When in containment, a breach usually occurs 20-25 days after the previous.
When out of containment, SCP-6400 travels to the nearest nightstand of a female between the ages of 7-14. Once there, it will remain motionless until the target is in the bedroom and in a deep sleep. When open, SCP-6440 will begin spinning and playing a rhythm on chimes. The song played will lasts for 28 second, and while playing, the female go into a sleep paralysis. At the foot of the bed is a completely white, humanoid creature that faces the subject, and is visible to others in the room. This creature is labeled as SCP-6440-01. SCP-6440-01 resembles SCP-096, but has no facial features and none of the anomalous properties of SCP-096. During this time, the brain activity of the subject will increase to a high limit that is not possible in any other circumstance. Once the song ends, the dark bedroom will suddenly go into a void like darkness, where no light in any form is present. Seconds later, the subject is transported into alternate dimension.
This dimension consists of a single, office-like, infinite hallway. Many rooms inside this building have windows what seems to be the outside world. This world resembles the streets [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] in [REDACTED], Brazil. However, the streets filled with a red-tinted fog, and subjects claim to hear crying, although the camera picks up none of it. The subjects claim the crying sounds the same as members from their families. The two streets have been closed to the public and SCP-Staff have been investigating for anomalous properties. When first stepping into this dimension, the subject faces North. When they turn around, they see SCP-6440-1, staring at them from an estimated 50 yards away. Once seen, SCP-6440-1 will begin to move towards the subject as the lights begin to flicker. As the subject runs down the hall, SCP-6440-1 does a walking motion towards such person, but at a ever-slightly speed faster than the subject. Most subjects will run as fast as they can away, for several minutes, getting more and more tired with each step. Finally, when the subject is in such fatigue that they can barely move, is when SCP-6440-1 grabs the victim and faces the female towards it. It is unknown what happens next, as all footage cuts out after the victim lets out a single, throat cutting scream. The scream can be heard from anyone inside of the original room. Further testing is needed.
