Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedure: SCP-XXXX is located at Site██, in a regulated room not exceeding a temperature of 15 degrees C. The floor of the containment room must be dished in order to contain SCP-XXXX in its liquid form. A fan is to be mounted inside the containment room in the case of the substance evaporating into a gas state. In this instance, entrance into the containment room is strongly prohibited to prevent containment breach. The substance maintains a solid form in temperatures under 15 degrees C, a liquid form between 16 C and 22 C, and a gas form at standard room temperature.
No fewer than 2 security personal with level 2 clearance or higher are to be posted by the location. Test subjects that show a record of mental illness are prohibited from entering the testing facility. Security as well as research staff assigned to the project are advised to take a psychological exam.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 60.63 cm. by 35.56 cm. rectangle with a thickness of approximately 6.5 cm. appearing metallic in appearance. In all states of matter it is mentally hazardous to biological subjects and causes corrosion to most other substances, thoughts and actions of self harm and aggression are common in test subjects. It is advised that no staff should ever personally handle the substance.
Although in it's solid and liquid states of matter SCP-XXXX causes mental trauma, in it's gas state the substance causes a breakdown in the prefrontal lobe when inhaled causing irrational thinking and aggression. It should also be noted that consumption of SCP-XXXX in the liquid state produces a similar affect
SCP-XXXX was discovered by scientists who thought the anomalous substance was a form of liquid mercury. When heated to room temperature, it formed a gas that permeated the scientists respirators and caused them to become very aggressive and violent. An audio log was kept that details the discovery. Although this was affected by SCP-XXXX causing storage to corrupt, some of the audio files were recovered.
