Special Containment Procedures:
Due to SCP-XXXX’s nature as an anomalous area of space, containment consists of occupying said area. Site XX is to be constructed as a wide ring of buildings that traces SCP-XXXX’s perimeter. Personnel are not permitted to enter the inner area without adequate safety gear. Protecting gear is to enclose the wearer in a layer of heat insulating material with an onboard oxygen supply. A hallway will be built that protrudes three fourths of the way into SCP-XXXX’s area of effect. This hallway must be insulated from the outside world through an outer steel shell, with a vacuum between the two layers. The inner shell should be braced with steel struts to contain the atmospheric pressure. Glass air locks are to be built periodically that lead into SCP-XXXX. The hallway is to have constant air circulation.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is an thermodynamically reversed region of space. Within it, the first and second laws of thermodynamics behave opposite from the normal world. Heat travels out of Cold areas into Hot ones, and Entropy decreases with any change. The effect increases with proximity to the center of SCP-XXXX over a range of 100 meters. Therefore, the interior of SCP-XXXX approaches then surpasses polar conditions. The core of SCP-XXXX is thought to be composed of frozen air at a temperature of 0 Kelvin.
