Special Containment Procedures: Foundation Cryptobiology personnel have infiltrated medical companies, major hospitals, and prenatal care facilities in order to screen for SCP-XXXX instances in gestation.

Newborn SCP-XXXX instances are to be secured when possible, and delivered to probationary containment site Theta 19, located in [REDACTED], Antarctica. Due to the global distribution of SCP-XXXX instances, a total of 34 SCP-XXXX armed collection sites have been established worldwide, with routine transportation to site Theta 19.

Foundation personnel located in various municipal and federal governments are to monitor for possible SCP-XXXX-Xanatos events. The containment of triggered SCP-XXXX instances generally necessitates the deployment of Dedicated Containment Force Alpha-12 (“Witch Hunters”). Once secured, triggered SCP-XXXX instances are to be subjected to Protocol HEIGHT SNOW, and moved to the nearest armed collection site under close guard. Description: SCP-XXXX are bipedal, sapient organisms [Dubbed Homo Arcanus] that closely resembles baseline homo sapiens. It is estimated that SCP-XXXX instances account for <0.000001% of the total human population at the time of writing.

Although SCP-XXXX’s internal biology may vary from instance to instance, universally present is an extranormal brain lobe usually located in between the brainstem and the temporal lobe, heretofore referred to as SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A has non-euclidian internal geometry, allowing for extranormal concentrations of both white and gray matter in geometrically impossible formations. Also present in SCP-XXXX-A instances is a previously unknown type of brain matter [dubbed blue matter] that anomalously exerts an esoteric energy field allowing for the perception and manipulation of extra spatial dimensions and fields imperceptible to baseline humans.

SCP-XXXX-A instances are generally dormant, and will only begin display extranormal properties under very poorly understood circumstances [dubbed SCP-XXXX-Xanatos event or “triggering” by field personnel] , usually involving high levels of stress, exuberance, or mortal danger. [Attempts to artificially induce trigger events in dormant SCP-XXXX-A instances have met with failure.] Once a SCP-XXXX-A instance activates, SCP-XXXX will usually develop reality bending abilities. [Including, but not limited to, energy construct manipulation, the creation of Type Aleph 9 Artificial intelligences, the creation of artificial life imitation-constructs, psychic or psionic manipulation, quantum field manipulation, reality warping, temporal manipulation, Class One through Three Theological Contact, and further esoteric energy and matter field construction and manipulation.] However, what distinguishes SCP-XXXX from reality benders [Type Greens] are several Type B8 universal-constant metaphysical laws [present, universal laws that are currently unable to be summarized or explained by modern science] that are present in all SCP-XXXX instances. These laws limit the extent of SCP-XXXX instances’ reality warping abilities. Recorded side effects of breaking Type B8 laws have included spatial reorganization, brain-death, cardiac arrest, and spontaneous combustion.

Due to SCP-XXXX instances’ comparatively large population, they make up a general majority of anomalous humanoids. Foundation field agents have recorded SCP-XXXX instances in almost every Group of Interest, most notably, the Serpent’s Hand. SCP-XXXX instances appear to have been prevalent throughout history. Field interrogation and infiltration have revealed that SCP-XXXX instances and anomalous-affiliated humans have conducted extensive research, experimentation, and practice of SCP-XXXX’s reality-warping effect, in fields ranging from paratechnology to religion. Institutions such as Deer College, and the Global Occult Coalition funded International Center for the Study of Universal Thaumatology are known to harbor and instruct SCP-XXXX instances on the nature of Type B8 laws. This instruction has been found to increase the effectiveness and reliabillity of SCP-XXXX’s reality warping effect.
