Item #: SCP-4822
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4822 is to be within sight of Dr. Telle at all times. If Dr. Telle is travelling, SCP-4822 is to travel with him. If Dr. Telle does not currently know SCP-4822’s current location, report it to site security as soon as possible.
Description: SCP-4822 is a small, animated statuette composed of clay, standing at 26.2cm tall. Testing has determined that it’s roughly as strong as an average adult human, and walks roughly as fast. When SCP-4822 is within 30 meters of Dr. Telle, it will act towards him in a similar way to how a small child would act towards its parent. If it is not within the aforementioned range, it will grow in strength, begin to intentionally break objects in its environment, and make vocalizations similar to those of a human child crying (despite not vocalizing at any other time).
SCP-4822 was found in a site associated with the Turdaș–Vinča culture, and shares common features with other sculptures created by them. The purpose of SCP-4822's creation is unknown, though glyphs present on the upper-left chest of SCP-4822 could point to this purpose if translated.
Discovery: SCP-4822 was found in Foundation Digsite ETV-63, near Resita, Romania. It was initially found in a collapsed cooking room housing other artifacts associated with the Vinča-Turdaș culture, which suggests that they may have had anomalous capabilities. After being unearthed by Dr. Telle, SCP-4822 was inert for several hours before becoming animate, after which it proceeded to jump onto Dr. Telle’s back. It is currently believed that SCP-4822 believes Dr. Telle to be its parent. SCP-4822 was then taken back to Area-33 and kept in the care of Dr. Telle.
