Item #: SCP-4XXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4XXX is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment cell in Site-88. The cell should have a single medium sized glass window installed. Another secure cell should be connected to this window. Electric steel shutters must be installed on the sides of the window. The integrity of the glass, and the nobility of the shutters must be checked monthly. SCP-4XXX does not require any food, water, or bedding. At no point should any personal enter the cell of SCP-4XXX unless it has been rendered unconscious. Any and all testing involving SCP-4XXX requires approval by a researcher with 3/4XXX clearance.

Both rooms must be soundproofed and at no point should any audio recording device enter the two rooms. SCP-4XXX must have visual contact with a human on a weekly basis and should never go without seeing a person for more than 25 days. If SCP-4XXX goes without visual human contact for 30 days, visual contact must be made as soon as possible and no personnel can enter either room without proper hearing protection until visual contact has been re-established.

Description: SCP-4XXX is a child-sized creature with a hunched back. It is able to speak, and appears to have the intelligence and mannerisms of a 6-year-old boy. Its overall personality appears to be very timid, yet it actively voices a longing for attention and human interaction.

On the front of each of SCP-4XXX's hands there are thousands of small, sharp spike-like features that appear to be made of paper. Any attempts to take a sample of one of these spikes has resulted in SCP-4XXX attacking the person or thing taking the sample, even if it had been previously in an unconscious state. Given enough time, these spikes are able to pierce through every tested material including [DATA REDACTED].

Whenever it is dormant, SCP-4XXX will sit down and continually scan the area around it. This will continue until it either sees a human or hears any sort of verbal expression or communication. If SCP-4XXX hears a human but can not immediately see it, it will stand and begin to search for the source. It will do everything it can to find the source, except for any violent method, including not forcing a door open or breaking a window. If it finds that the noise has a non-human source1, or if it can't find the source after 5 minutes, SCP-4XXX will sit back down and will ignore the noise if it continues. SCP-4XXX will also ignore a future noise if it sounds the same or comes from the same location as a previously determined non-human source or a previously determined noise that has no visible source.

Once SCP-4XXX has made visual contact with a human victim, it will attempt to make physical contact with the victim. This attempt at contact will be in the same manner as the initial search. If it cannot find a way to reach the victim it sees, it will begin to stare down the victim until it notices a change that would allow it to reach them. While staring at the victim, it will begin to communicate with them. So far, all other attempts at communicating with SCP-4XXX have been ignored. It will mainly ask to touch the victim. However limited information has been gained through several interviews (see Addendum 4XXX-02).

If SCP-4XXX makes physical contact with a human victim, it will start to wrap their arms and hands around them and begin to continuously rub them up and down their body. This will result in thousands of cuts being made on the victim's body. Despite this, the victim will show no signs of pain or panic and will in-turn start to wrap their arms and hands around SCP-4XXX. No matter the type of suit or armor that the victim wears, eventually the rubbing will lead to cuts on the body. The victim seem to only be able to control themselves until the first cut is made by SCP-4XXX. This interaction between SCP-4XXX and the victim will continue until the victim collapses and later expires due to blood loss. The moment the victim goes unconscious, SCP-4XXX will stop and sit back down, fully ignoring the body afterwards. When prompted later on why it stopped, SCP-4XXX responded by saying that "sleeping people don't like to be touched".

Additional Notes: SCP-4XXX seems to be completely unaware of the pain it causes and the overall concept of death. Any attempts to explain these concepts have been unsuccessful. SCP-4XXX also doesn't react when it makes visual contact with an actual unconscious human. However, it is able to tell if a human is pretending to be unconscious.

Addendum 4XXX-01: SCP-4XXX was discovered in the household of Mr. and Mrs. ████████ in the outskirts of ██████ ████, ███████. Mr. and Mrs. ████████ had a single child named ████ who was born with a hunched back and a rare form of severe combined immunodeficiency disease. ████ was forced to live in a specially designed room that was sealed off by glass and he was barred from any physical contact. On ██/██/20██, Mr. and Mrs. ████████ had both not reported to their respective jobs for the third day in a row. The police were notified and a police unit was dispatched to the house to investigate. Inside the house, officers found the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. ████████ with millions of small cuts on them. The officers also saw SCP-4XXX near the bodies and it begin to approach the officers when it noticed them enter. The officers retreated while shutting the door behind them, and proceeded to radio for backup. A sleeper agent in the ██PD heard this radio call and proceeded to contact the Foundation. A MTF team was dispatched and were able to capture and subdue SCP-4XXX with a tranquilizer gun.

Addendum 4XXX-02:

Incident 4XXX-01:

Date: ██-██-20██, 30 days after Interview 4XXX-XX
Location: Site-88
Description: After Interview 4XXX-XX, Dr. ███████ determined that no more interviews were necessary and that SCP-4XXX shouldn't be allowed any more visual contact with people. Exactly 720 hours, or 30 days, after Interview 4XXX-XX concluded, SCP-4XXX began to emit a loud noise. This noise was able to be heard up to ██ meters from it's cell and from it's cell's microphone. Every human who heard this sound collapsed to the ground, completely still except for some slight breathing and the occasional eye blinking. However, the effected people's eyes and mouths did not move from their initial position and all attempts at communication were unsuccessful. From then on, any person who heard this noise went into a similar state and a containment breach was activated. A MTF response team was given sound-canceling headphones and were able to contain the breach by having themselves seen by SCP-4XXX through the window, who at that point proceeded to stop making the noise. Once the noise stopped, all people previously effected were able to move about and speak.

All effected humans gave the exact same response in the post-incident interviews. They claim to have heard a child wailing and a second later their vision went black. They were unable to see, hear, and move their body. They were unable to physically feel anything including the ground. A few seconds after the initial blackness an image appeared in their mind of them on a hill with a endless expanse of nothingness surrounding them. A few more seconds later, they begin to feel a deep sense of utter loneliness. The image and feeling are reported to continue until a couple hours later when they suddenly are able to see any move. This corresponds with the time it took to contain the breach.
Notes: █ research personnel and █ D-Class died as a result of the initial noise and the sub-sequential containment breach. Containment procedures for SCP-4XXX have been updated accordingly. Any and all audio recordings of SCP-4XXX are to be destroyed immediately and any interviews done with SCP-4XXX must never be audibly recorded.
