Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently being researched in Site-103 until further notice. SCP-XXXX should be contained in a humid environment with at least 60% shade. It must be kept in well-drained soil and watered daily by Class C or higher personnel. Said personnel must wear a hazmat suit in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX, especially when being sampled or watered. Under no circumstance should it be removed from its soil following Incident 4430-B.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a black flower, almost identical in appearance to the Tacca chantrieri; its shaped similarly to a bat and has whiskers that grow up to 28 inches. When the whiskers are cut, it secretes a black gunk-like adhesive. If the liquid is consumed, the recipient will begin to undergo very intense feelings of paranoia and mild signs of schizophrenia and depression. During this event, the subject also begins to feel extremely ill as the skin turns pale and the veins appear saturated and black. Over a period of an hour, the subject will begin to lose vision and hearing as emotional distress increases drastically. After 30 minutes to 2 hours, dependent on the amount of the substance consumed, the subject will fall into a deep sleep. Once the process has undergone a full 24 hours, the subject will begin to regain vision, hearing, and consciousness but will be unable to see or hear any other sentient beings: these effects are permanent. Reversal of the infection is still being researched with little progress.
Recovery Log: SCP-XXXX was discovered by Malaysian police on July ██, 20██ after several reports from the village of [REDACTED], describing cries from the hut of a local shaman. When police arrived, a 13 year old male by the name J██ W█████ was found in a small hand-made hole, surrounded only by dirt and his own feces; he had been missing for a week. Surrounding the hole was approximately ██ flowers, all dead but one. The boy was first admitted to an Emergency Room in the ██████████ █████ due to extreme malnutrition before being taken with SCP-XXXX by a containment team. Workers and witnesses at the original facility were given Class A Amnestics and his parents [DATA EXPUNGED]. See Interview XXXX-A for more information.
Foreword: This interview takes place three days after the rescue of J██ W█████, who should now be referred to as Subject XXXX-A. He was given a mild sedative for his constant yelling, then when awoken was explained in written form his situation with proper form. He began to act out in shock of the events.
