Item #: SCP-4863
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4863 is contained within a WWII era hangar replica located in site ██. SCP-4863 is to be kept under constant video surveillance, and to be interacted with by one (1) member of the research staff masked as a Nazi Luftwaffe commander (Researcher's name: Tony Vicentini, goes by "Valentin Schlitz" when interacting with SCP-4863) once per day, assuring SCP-4863 about Germany still being active part of the second World War and the Luftwaffe still existing (as known during the years 1939-1945) using fabricated photos, recordings and testimonies.
SCP-4863 is generally cooperative with any Foundation personnel, as long as it thinks they are Luftwaffe pilots or any high rank Lufwtaffe official. No violent or illogical response has ever been registered by SCP-4863, but due to the self-conscious nature of SCP-4863, it cannot be deemed as secure nor predictable. Standard safety measures are to be observed under any given circumstances and any attempt to evade the hangar is to be considered a Security Breach and be treated accordingly.
Description: SCP-4863 is a Messerschmitt BF-109 G2/R1 WWII era german fighter, externally resembling a normal, heavily damaged BF-109.
Damaged parts are listed as:
-Missing left aileron
-Missing rudder and partial elevator control surfaces
-Gear damaged beyond functionality, but still working
-22% of the tail section missing
-Various .50 cal bullet holes on its fuselage and tail section
-Generally lightly burnt fuselage and cover
SCP-4863 is to be considered sentient and able to communicate/think similarly to a normal modern days human. It communicates through morse code, via empty clicks of its 20mm MG151 nose-mounted cannon.
SCP-4863 states to be a human named "Einhard Wentz", a Luftwaffe pilot who was reported MIA in late 1943, over ██████, █████ during a high-altitude interception of several B-17s that ended with the german forces retiring due to the loss of most of their aircrafts without significants damages to the enemy forces.
Instances of SCP-4863 date back from early 1944 to late 1945, where multiple russian, american and english pilots/crew reported to see a "pilotless, heavily damaged 109 flying as if no damage was actually impacting its performances, attacking and downing allied aircrafts, resisting any further damage done to its structure.
On reinforcement of his sayings, SCP-4863 communicates using military speech patterns and talks about real and verifiable events occurred during it's supposed service period, often focalizing on war stories and "past glory"
SCP-4863 is not aware that WWII has ended and any attempt to make it known to him will be considered worthy of termination, as it is unknown what its response would be.
SCP-4863 is able to operate both its engine and guns (of note, no other on-board system is noted to be functional) without the need for refuelment or rearming, how SCP-4863 generates these resources is unknown.
SCP-4863 demonstrates normal flight capabilities identical to those of a fully functional BF-109 G2/R1 despite its heavy damages, and no particular other flight behavior is observed.
SCP-4863 can be flown by any human being who can make it believe (within reason) to be another Luftwaffe pilot or high ranking officer, in which case the plane's command will be passed to the person behind the control stick and SCP-4863 will become "dormient" as long as the individual inside it life's not at risk, at which point it will gain back control and do whatever it can to prevent any harm be done to the pilot.
Researcher's note: the origins of SCP-4863 are currently unknown, no sings of alchemy nor spiritual conjoinnments are found, therefore we believe it can be considered one of the earliest prototypes of human-like AI developed as a Nazi secret super weapon of sorts. Still, it is not explained how it can generate fuel and both cannon and MGs ammunition from, apparently, thin air, nor wind tunnel testing explained how it can still fly just as well as a normally functioning plane. Further testing is required, but it would probably need what could be considered a vivisectomy. I am therefore requesting approval for a "vivisectomy" of SCP-4863.
