Item #: SCP-4184
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4184 is to be kept in a standard Foundation storage vault when not being employed, as it does not portray any anomalies until it has been properly installed. Under no circumstances should SCP-4184 be installed as a door on unsupervised, unauthorized or otherwise unsafe location. Such conditions are to be immediately considered a Containment Breach of SCP-4184. When in authorized use, at least one (1) member of biological containment in a Class II bio-hazard suit equipped with a standard-issue flamethrower is to be present in the Containment Chamber at all times. The Chamber must be decontaminated at the beginning of testing as to avoid infection of SCP-4184-1 with Earth microorganisms. Any specimens of SCP-4184-2 retrieved from SCP-4184-1 are to be done so in a class II portable bio-containment cell. After usage of SCP-4184 is to be ceased, it must be first closed then properly unmounted from its current position. SCP-4184's Chamber is then to be completely decontaminated once more. Involved personnel must be subject to analysis and put in quarantine in order to assure they have not become infected. A dose of antibiotics must also be provided to all involved personnel. Exposed D-Class are to be immediately quarantined for further study or terminated and their body decontaminated and incinerated at the Senior Researcher's discretion.
The following conditions are to be considered a Containment Breach:
- Entry of a specimen of SCP-4184-2 to the Containment chamber outside of a bio-containment cell or breach of said cell by the specimen.
- Unauthorized installation or opening of SCP-4184.
- Breach of previously contained instances of SCP-4184-2.
On the event of a Containment Breach lethal action is, by default, authorized.
Description: SCP-4184 is a blue door with a brass round handle. The wooden material has been confirmed to be extracted from a specimen of SCP-4184-2, native to the zone of SCP-4184-1 correspondent with the area of the ██████ ██████ where SCP-4184 was initially discovered. The blue paint coincides with a bucket of light blue paint bought on a local art store in ███████, but is badly worn due to sand erosion. SCP-4184 has three hinges on it, that when properly attached to a door with an enclosed room behind it of at least six (6) square meters and two (2) meters high will open a gateway to SCP-4184-1. SCP-4184-1 is theorized to be a nearly exact copy of Earth if there hadn't ever been living beings of the Kingdom Animalia. SCP-4184-2 is a designation given to any living being that hails from SCP-4184-1 that has been brought outside of SCP-4184-1 for any reason. As human interaction is also absent, installing SCP-4184 on an artificial excavation site leads to a wall of dirt or stone. An estimate of 89% of the land surface is covered by plants and fungi. An enormous mycelium mass has been detected beneath the floor, spanning across what seems to be all habitable land, making it the largest known life form to not have recieved an SCP Classification of its own. Flora is extremely diverse across the whole globe. An average of five (5) new species of SCP-4184-2 are discovered per expedition.
More recent expeditions have uncovered primitive buildings and tools, rising theories of a sentient species native to SCP-4184-1. Said theoretical species has been preemptively given the designation of SCP-4184-3. Containment of any specimen of SCP-4184-3 must be deemed highest priority on sight. Their appearance, level of intelligence and behavior remain unknown, but are likely to be plant or fungi based, and are most likely humanoid based on the shape of their tools and buildings, and are likely to possess an intelligence comparable to early humans based on the quality and theorized use of the tools.
