Special Containment Procedures: Research on the properties of SCP-XXXX is currently undergoing at Sites 53, 902 and 7042-A. Reports on updates to it's understanding, evolution on the number of detections, and all relevant statistical analisis are to be delivered to the O5-Council or representative on a weekly basis. Some of these documents have been included in the Addendum list of this item for reference.

Foundation documents and other artifacts are to be cloned through the K method, if possible, to try to mitigate potential damage from SCP-XXXX events.

In case any of the anomalies described in this document are to be suspected of outside of foundation monitoring, please report to one of the staff members bellow:

  • Dr. X Y

Description: Instances of SCP-XXXX are hyperdimentional areas not being irradiated by a particular quantum boson (referred to as SCP-XXXX-c or S'xxxx), what is believed to only happen due to obstruction by some object or entity. It is conceptualy analogous to shadows in behaviour, however for a higher number of dimentions.

S'xxxx is yet to be observed or replicated, but certain characteristics of it have been determined. It does not conform to the passage of time, as it's propagation could only be explained in certain instances if it acted retrocasualy. Moreover, it is believed S'xxxx emanates from a source that is hyperdimentional in nature, to account for it's non-comformity to laws of causality, but also unique in the universe, considering the observed occurrences of SCP-XXXX. It is analogous to light as SCP-XXXX is analogous to a shadow, although phenomena such as diffraction, refraction and reflection, observed for light, are not observed in respects to S'xxxx.

All observable objects in the universe seem to be irradiated by S'xxxx particles traveling through space-time, which are promply absorbed. Any object that ceases to absorb S'xxxx (for instance, due to an obstruction, configuring an instance of SCP-XXXX) is subject to SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects, being:

  • suffering rapid loss of entropy in the form of subatomic particle decay and, for all intents and purposes, ceasesing to exist.
  • Having most of the context related to their existence reconfigured around their non-existence, meaning all first-hand accounts or evidence of the existence of this object is erased. This includes photographic evidence, artifacts produced by or in conjuction with the affected object, and even memories of any observer.

On the other hand, it is possible for entities to appear out of SCP-XXXX, in which case, they gain (or regain) entropy and context. It is currently accepted that all SCP-XXXX instances will cause at least two changes to reality, by temporarily or permanently removing an object from existence, while giving origin to a previously non-existing object.

The type of behaviour displayed by SCP-XXXX limits ways in which it can be observed, or even predicted. Currently, secondary artifacts have been used to identify certain occurrences of now-erased objects (replicated digital and non-digital evidence, and other documentation that refers to non-existent objects), while analitical data of the fluctuation of subatomic particles in certain regions of space, and on earth, is sometimes used to detect when an SCP-XXXX has appeared. Most of the observations documented relate to the dissappearance of objects 93% of which are smaller than celular level (some being as small as an atom), but dissappearances of objects of celular size or above are not unheard of. Objects that sprung from SCP-XXXX have also been documented, although in much smaller number.

Foundation specialists established that a uniform rise of 90% on radiation levels detected by monitoring devices for SCP-XXXX would be indication that a CK-Class scenario or ZK-Class scenario would be taking place.
