Class - Safe
Special Containment Procedure - SCP - 5133 is to be kept in a 25 m by
20 m plexiglass water tank with stainless steel lining surrounding
each side of the Water Tank, The water Tank is to be placed in a
45mx45m room, and the walls of the room are to be carved from top to
bottom in Maori carvings (at the request of SCP)which is believed to
tell the story of this specific Taniwha (pronounced tanifa) . There
are four D class personnel, which are stationed at each corner of the
water tank, and are each armed with (redacted) in case of emergency.
Description - SCP 5133 is said to be a guardian of the (redacted)
river, in the North Island, New Zealand, and according to Maori
mythology, they are beings that live in deep pools in rivers, dark
caves, or in the sea, especially in places with dangerous currents or
deceptive breakers (giant waves). SCP 5133 is 4 meters in length, and
weighs 150kgs (330 pounds), it has a rough green scales covering its
entire body, and has blue eyes, which look like the inside of a paua
shell. SCP 5133 is often seen talking to itself in Maori (the native
language of New Zealand), and when asked what its talking about it
will often ignore the person who asked the question unless that
individual has shown the proper respect to SCP 5133. So DR (redacted)
sent a letter to the RNZSMC (Royal New Zealand (redacted) (Redacted)
(redacted), they sent (redacted, Redacted- redacted), who went over
to act as a consultant to DR (redacted),to teach the personnel how to
show the appropriate respect to SCP 5133. After being shown how to
properly interact with SCP 5133, the personnel gathered more
information on how SCP 5133 came to be the guardian of the (redacted)
river.
The interview between Dr (redacted)and SCP 5133 is as follows:
Dr Linehum, talking to SCP 5133 (after giving SCP 5133 an offering,
which consisted of a branch from a (redacted) tree, and a (redacted),
and a polished (redacted)
*SCP 5133 seemed satisfied with these particular items as an offering,
and swam to Dr Linehum in order to be interviewed. Note that the Class
D personnel looked rather unnerved by SCP 5133 approaching them* *SCP
spoke with a slight Maori accent
Dr Linehum "SCP 5133, is there a name that we can call you ?
SCP 5133 "I go by many names, Dr, but you can call me (redacted).
Would you like me to talk in English, or in Maori ?"
Dr Linehum "English, please"
SCP 5133 "Well Doctor, I shall proceed to speak in English. Now, is
there anything in particular that you would like to talk about ?"
Dr Linehum "How did you come about living in the (redacted) River, and
why do you do so ?
SCP 5133 "I do not merely just live there, I have been the Kaitiaki
for around 200 years I make sure that the natural order of the river
flow accordingly, and protecting those who need protecting".
Dr linehum "Ah, yes, well, how do you feel about living in this tank?
I was told by the reconnaissance team, that you put up a fight, when
they were in your domain, as you killed (redacted) personnel.
SCP 5133 "Well, you see Doctor, it was the first time since 1845 that
anyone had ever tried to attack my people in that manner. I was not
going to sit by idle, while your people came into my domain without
proper invitation, I did not know what your intentions were, so of
course I was going to protect my people, both land and sea dwelling.
And, for living in this tank ? yes I do not mind it, I have ample
room, and can talk to and look after the other fish that live in here
with me, as all sea dwelling creatures are my whanau."
Dr Linehum " I'm glad that you are happy with your current living
situation, just one last question SCP 5133, do you ever think of your
family ?"
SCP 5133 "Of course I do doctor, but I am not willing to talk about
them right now, but if you want to learn about my ancestry, all you
have to do is look upon the walls in this room, and they will tell
you, not just the story of my life, but of my whakapapa."
Dr Linehum "Thanks for your time, (redacted)."
*SCP 5133 gave the Dr a traditional Maori blessing, and sank back into
the depths of the water tank, and proceeded to laely swim around the
tank, talking to the various fish and other water dwelling creatures
that lived within the tank.
Note: two days following this interview, the SCP saved a class D
personnel, who fell into the water tank, after dropping in a meal of
(redacted) into the tank. SCP 5133 was seen watching the Class D
personnel with keen eyes, but upon realizing that the individual was
drowning, SCP 5133 rushed to the aid of that class D personnel. Ever
since that day, SCP 5133 has showed a particular interest with that
specific individual, teaching her Te Reo Maori, and giving her one of
his scales from his underbelly, and said to her "if you are ever in
need, you wrap this scale in rope made from (redacted) and (redacted),
then support and aid will not be far from you, Kia Kaha"
