Description: SCP-XXXX is an organic object resembling an enormous grinning human mouth of indeterminate gender, age, and ethnicity, approx 32 km at its widest point. SCP-XXXX is currently located in the Indian Ocean, levitating approx. 4.5 km above sea level. Attempts to explore the inside of SCP-XXXX have been unsuccessful due to the failure of all electronic devices upon entry and subsequent loss of contact with all manned/unmanned expeditions.
SCP-XXXX exerts a mild cognitohazardous effect when directly observed. After prolonged exposure (10 to 20 hours of direct observation), individuals develop mild psychological symptoms including paranoia, auditory/visual hallucinations, and stomatophobia1.
At random intervals, SCP-XXXX produces objects from its maw, hereafter designated SCP-XXXX-1 instances. These objects are extremely diverse; refer to Addendum XXXX-1 for descriptions of selected instances.
