Veinthorn Bush

Item #: XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a 3 meter by 3 meter containment cell at Site-19 with ultraviolet lights constantly being shined onto it. Any personnel or animal that touches SCP-XXXX without proper protection is to be locked inside until they expire. If the lights are to go out then all personnel within a 10 meter radius are to evacuate the area immediately and everything inside the room is to be incinerated until the lights begin working again and it is deemed safe to enter.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small maroon thorn bush about one cubic foot in size above ground and roots that go down almost 100 meters. The thorns on SCP-XXXX are about half an inch long and only 3 centimeters in diameter. SCP-XXXX is unable to grow very well in ultraviolet light and thrives in the cold. It’s thorns have spores in them which if they get into the bloodstream of an animal it begins to grow using the blood and eventually the entire body until the host then dubbed SCP-XXXX-1 dies at which point it begins to grow its roots, however it is unable to grow its roots in intense ultraviolet light and as a result it dies. SCP-XXXX is able to completely regrow as long as it’s roots remain. All attempts have shown that the roots are unable to be destroyed as they cannot be burnt or dissolved and cutting them, which in itself is an extremely difficult task, only causes the prices to grow into more roots. Both the roots and the bush are able to grow through any surface. SCP-XXXX does not require water to grow but much like when it is exposed to ultraviolet light it’s griwth is stunted although not nearly as severely.SCP-XXXX was discovered in a cave in northern Siberia in a taiga near *REDACTED* after a Russian research team went down into it and had reportedly gone missing where their bones had been found entangled in SCP-XXXX which was much larger yet it’s roots where only about half as long. When first discovered SCP-XXXX was contained within the cage it was found in until it’s weakness to ultraviolet light was found at which point it was relocated to Site-06-3 and then later Site-19.
