Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-9644's current location is within site 17. There the entity is held in a 30x30m cell which, due to the teleportative nature of the anomaly, must have walls at least 2m thick. In addition, prompted by the needs of SCP-9644-1, the cell must have everything it needs for living (for example, a shower, a toilet, a refrigerator and a television). Additional SCP-9644-1 requirements must be noted and discussed with a level 4 authority on approval.
Description:
SCP-9644 is a standard US 50 cent coin. The embossing date adjusts to the time at the beginning of a new year. SCP-9644 has the anomalous ability to select and follow a person by moving through short distance teleportation. The selected person becomes SCP-9644-1. SCP-9644 is always within a 1 meter radius of SCP-9644-1. After the death of SCP-9644-1, SCP-9644 disappears and searches for a new person in an undetermined location in the world. Even after spending SCP-9644, for example, in a store, once the coin exceeds the 1 meter distance and disappears from SCP-9644-1’s line of sight, the coin will go back to it.

Currently, SCP-9644-1 is the 35-year-old homeless Albanian, named ███████, who was taken into custody relatively early after first contacting SCP-9644 due to public statements about a “magic witch-ghost coin”. ███████ does not seem to disturb the safekeeping any further. There were no serious incidents apart from a peaceful attempt to escape.

Addendum SCP-9644-A:it was tested whether SCP-9644 can be used in conjunction with SCP-294.
SCP-9644 was inserted into the slot of the machine and SCP-9644-1 entered the key word for "water" on the keypad, which was regularly served. Even after SCP-9644-1 moved away from SCP-294 and was brought back to his cell, SCP-9644 remained missing. Only after █ hours SCP-9644 did reappear next to SCP-9644-1. There have been no further changes in behavior since then.
SCP-9644 only seems to select people between 30 and 40 years of age for SCP-9644-1 role. Doctor █████ expressed the possibility that SCP-9644-1 would be considered something of an indirect host by SCP-9644 and that a parasitic connection could be the reason for SCP-9644's behavior. He said that would explain the frequent inexplicable death of SCP-9644-1.

The increase in classification to "Euclid" is under discussion.
