Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be contained in a 500*670*90 foot concrete dome. No other materials are needed. When personnel enters the containment area, they should all wear a Level A hazmat suit. A Full-face respirator and Blue light sources for navigation are also required for the entering of SCP-XXXX. When entering and exiting the area, personnel must disinfect and lock the outer doors.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a Boreal Forest in Colorado. Coordinates are: [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX is split into two sections, section A being around 15% larger than section B. Section A inhabits many life forms, including moose, hares, and beavers, and seems to be related to most common forests in the area.
Section B does not seem to inhabit animals. Inspection of SCP-XXXX showed an airborne Bioluminescent fungal lifeform in many flat plane areas, classified as SCP-XXXX-1. This fungal spore is drawn to bright light, around 900 lumens, and is shown to act aggressively if it is exposed to this (UV rays do not agitate the fungus).
SCP-XXXX-1 will attempt to navigate to the light source and encapsulate it in a film of Sub-Carbon based blue liquid. This liquid will proceed to burn and rust the object over a course of 6-25 days.
This effect has been tested for different materials, including glass, iron, titanium, and quartz. (For logs of data and experiments, please note Addendum 1). All of the listed items undergo a similar process.
SCP-XXXX-1 should be held in an airtight glass container with blue light sources. The fungus is required to be moved every 20 days to a new container if the old area begins to rust.
In a further inspection of SCP-XXXX, a creature named SCP-XXXX-2 was discovered. It resembles an 8-foot tall biped with spores relating to the Basidiomycota and Zygomycota families emitting out of its torso, arm, and leg areas. It has no eyes, though researchers suggest it uses Echolocation. The creature is not aggressive, though animate, and is now classified Safe.
Test A - 7/1/2008
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1 reaction—Glass
Procedure:
- Glass plane is placed with 850-lumen lightbulb 2ft from subject
- Time of full encapsulation is recorded
- Time of Material eradication recorded
- Abnormal Behavior Recorded
Results:
- Time of encapsulation: 1 minute 37 seconds
- Time of eradication: 20 days 1 hour
- Abnormal behavior report: N/A**
Analysis: Glass is required to be used for containment of SCP-XXXX-1 due to slow eradication process, and fast encapsulation process.
Test B - 7/21/2008
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1 reaction—Iron
Procedure:
- Iron sheet is placed with 850-lumen lightbulb 2ft from subject
- Time of full encapsulation is recorded
- Time of Material eradication recorded
- Abnormal Behavior Recorded
Results:
- Time of encapsulation: 8 minutes 11 seconds
- Time of eradication: 16 days 5 hours
- Abnormal behavior report: Subject needed to be forced near Iron sheet**
Analysis: Iron is not to be used for containment, due to slower encapsulation, and abstaining from the material.
Test C - 8/6/2008
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1 reaction—Titanium
Procedure:
- Glass plane is placed with 850-lumen lightbulb 2ft from subject
- Time of full encapsulation is recorded
- Time of Material eradication recorded
- Abnormal Behavior Recorded
Results:
- Time of encapsulation: 1 minute 37 seconds
- Time of eradication: 18 days 9 hours
- Abnormal behavior report: N/A**
Analysis: Titanium is not to be used for containment, due to inability to observe SCP-XXXX-1.
Test D - 8/24/2008
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1 reaction—Quarz
Procedure:
- Glass plane is placed with 850-lumen lightbulb 2ft from subject
- Time of full encapsulation is recorded
- Time of Material eradication recorded
- Abnormal Behavior Recorded
Results:
- Time of encapsulation: 54 minute 2 seconds
- Time of eradication: 15 days 13 hours
- Abnormal behavior report: N/A**
Analysis: Quarz is not to be used for containment due to slow encapsulation process and quick eradication.
Addendum 2:
Item #: SCP-XXXX-2
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-2 is free to roam the foundation. [Please Login With Level 3 Credentials] There should always be an armed guard at least 10ft away from SCP-XXXX-2, any abnormal behavior should be reported.
