Item#: 3475

Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: A Class-D specimen is to be injured in an isolated area to lure SCP-3475 where high frequency sounds are to be directed at the fins on the creatures sides until SCP-3475 is rendered unconscious. The entity is to be held in a cell 3m x 3m x 3m with the interior walls lined with tungsten steel alloy and said cell is to be a minimum of 1m away from any biological matter. Entry to the cell must be approved by no less than three employees with Level 2 access and there must be a minimum of three people inside the cell if entry is authorized.

Description: SCP-3475 is a black crested gecko like creature, measuring at an approximate 1m in length with fin like appendages on either side of the rib cage used for hearing. SCP-3475 also has a coloured stripe running down the entities back, colour variation appears to be an identifier for the creatures defensive mechanism.
Notable features include painful reaction to sounds above 50,000Hz often rendering SCP-3475 unconscious after constant exposure to such sounds and is able to secrete a gel substance, henceforth known as SCP-3475-1, that has different identifiable properties which appear to be linked to the creatures coloured dorsal stripe.
After the event of ██, ██, ████ henceforth known as The Cryo Gel incident, we learned that when the creatures dorsal stripe is a shade of light blue, the secreted gel rapidly freezes upon contact with biological matter not belonging to SCP-3475.
It is suspected that the dorsal spine is a large organ that holds some form of reaction causing the secreted gel to take on certain properties. Further research into this theory is unable to take place due to the entity being hostile towards humans while only appearing to kill the injured or when feeling threatened.

Additional: On rare occasions, in SCP-3475s cell an egg like object will appear with no knowledge of when. If said object appears, measures for biosafety level 4 are to initiated while sounds with frequency of 50,000Hz are to be emitted to subdue SCP-3475 while this object, henceforth known as SCP-3475-2, is removed to be researched.
As of yet, three of these egg like entities have been retrieved with a fourth predicted to appear at some time within the next few months. All tests to see if the objects are eggs and if they contain life have proved to be unsuccessful. More research into SCP-3475-2 is required.

Addendum SCP-3475-1: The gel is quite viscous but with the correct method can be refined to a consistency more like water. Doing so will make the substance easier to transport but at the cost of making the effects of the gel, much more potent.
The gel is naturally translucent in colour with slight traces of yellow suggesting the gel is like a mucus secreted as a defence mechanism. Known effects are listed with the identifier.

Addendum SCP-3475-2: After the first occurrence of these egg like objects, much research has been conducted to identify the purpose and origin of these "eggs". It is believed that these objects are eggs produced by SCP-3475 asexually reproducing and hatching process involves a unique gel used to trigger the hatching of a new born, however, this is mere speculation and much be researched further.
All known gels appear to have no noticeable effect on the egg and do not react to the speculated optimum conditions for hatching suggesting the process starting requires very specific conditions which can only be created by SCP-3475.
