| Item #: SCP-XXXX | Clearance Level 2/XXXX |
| Object Class: Safe |
An instance of SCP-XXXX in the wild, in its luminescent state.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a bio-containment chamber with an alfisol1-type soil bed at least four (4) meters deep. Illuminance in SCP-XXXX's chamber should be set to no more than 25 lx2. Personnel who deal poorly with disturbing or graphic images and/or have experienced troubling events in their past should never, under any circumstances, be permitted to make physical contact with SCP-XXXX. Any unauthorized attempts to make physical contact with SCP-XXXX by the aforementioned personnel or personnel with an inadequate clearance level will result in immediate disciplinary action.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a group of seven instances of the Fraxinus americana plant species, also known as white ash. The trees range from twelve (12) to seventeen (17) years old. Upon further examination of its chemical structure, SCP-XXXX is composed of organic tree material and a polymer resin known as polyethylene terephthalate3, which is intricately woven throughout each instance of SCP-XXXX. Observation of the objects under dim lighting show the polymer resin produces an intense steady bioluminescence when the light level in an area falls below 25.42 lux. Occasionally, the polymer resin will release a burst of infrared radiation, and the cause of both the luminescence and the radiation is yet to be determined.
Emission Log 4/30/2███:
Description Cont'd: All instances of SCP-XXXX have a square-shaped interface roughly the size of a human finger. When subjects make physical contact with this interface, they immediately acquire memories associated with negative emotions or events. Analysis of the memories shows that 87% of them are from residents of the abandoned mining town of Monte Cristo, Washington. Researchers have concluded that events within the memories occurred in the relative time period of the Panic of 19074, which is believed to have caused Monte Cristo's deposition.
Discovery: Foundation authorities were notified of SCP-XXXX's existence in 19██ when the Monte Cristo Preservation Association reported "strange glowing trees" to the local police department. Agents B█████ and P███ were sent to investigate and easily located SCP-XXXX as the surrounding area had [DATA EXPUNGED]. Upon containment teams arriving to transport the trees, Agent P███ accidentally made physical contact with one of its interfaces [DATA EXPUNGED].
