Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be locked in a standard containment box inside of a room with soundproof walls. When testing SCP-XXXX all personnel within 10 meters of it's containment must be wearing noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a snare drum that is 36cm in diameter, and 15cm in height. When SCP-XXXX is played with the snare wire unlatched, no anomalous events occur. However, when SCP-XXXX is played with the snare latched, anyone within 30m of it will be hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 (Reduced to 10m after test 2, see addendum SCP-XXXX-B) SCP-XXXX-1 will begin experiencing paranoia, insomnia, nausea, and amnesia. After 1 hour, SCP-XXXX-1 will forget anything that occured to them before playing SCP-XXXX. This includes childhood, parents, friends, and in some cases, the foundation itself.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX-A: Recovery SCP-XXXX was found to be anomalous when SCP-XXXX was played at a Jazz Concert by the Jazz band ████ ██████. After the concert, everyone began experiencing the symptoms listed. The SCP Foundation was notified, secured the object from the person using it, Francis █████████.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX-B: Test 2 D-6549 was told to enter the containment of SCP-XXXX and attempt to break the drum head with a hammer. D-6549 was unsuccessful. D-6549 was then instructed to play it. D-6549 complied, and the radius of the effects from SCP-XXXX was seemingly reduced due to the attempt to break it.
