Containment Class:
euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6537 is contained at Site-██, in mostly standard living quarters for a human, although with height of the room greatly increased to about 4 meters high, and with little furnishing, the most notable being a large pole horizontally adjourned near the ceiling at the back end of the cell. There is an observation window on the right side of the containment cell.
A minimum of two guards are to be stationed outside the containment cell. At least three personnel must be present in the observation room, if at all. Only those with Level 2 clearance or higher may enter SCP-6537's observation room.
Description: SCP-6537 is a cephalopod-like humanoid, standing at approximately 2.3m (7ft6in) at its tallest, and weighing approximately 9kg (20lbs). There are no facial features other than two large, bat-like ears, and a small amount of what seems to be hair inside of the ears at first glance. SCP-6537 wears nothing other than a large robe of unknown material, which covers everything completely except for the head, and a leather strap with a large medallion attached to it. SCP-6537 refuses to remove this clothing, and will become agitated if attempt to remove it is made.
SCP-6537 is completely mute and blind, relying solely on its hearing to navigate and detect organisms in its vicinity. It appears to be able to echo-locate, through the use of a cat-like sound it emanates on occasion. It is unknown exactly how it makes this sound, but it does tire SCP-6537 out after frequent use. SCP-6537 is very sensitive to both sudden and loud noises, and will express annoyance and even anger if the source of a sound like this continues.
SCP-6537 has multiple anomalous abilities, and as of 05/13/██, demonstrates the ability to morph its own body to a degree, which is how it consumes food and drink, telepathy, control over electricity, and even the ability to create electricity itself out of thin air. It is unknown if it has any other anomalous abilities as of yet.
There is only one known anomalous side effect of being exposed to SCP-6537, that being an increase in the production of gamma aminobutyric acid in any individual within a 1.5 meter radius. It is unknown exactly what about SCP-6537 causes this effect. Due to the general harmlessness of this effect, there have been suggestions made to allow staff that are in stress "therapy sessions" with SCP-6537, however these were declined.
SCP-6537 communicates through its telepathy, by "connecting" to an individual and relaying its thoughts to them, and even reading the thoughts of said individual. It is unknown to what extent it can read, but for security reasons, it is highly discouraged, and in some cases, disallowed for anybody above Level 2 clearance to come into contact with SCP-6537.
SCP-6537 carries a weak electrical charge, able to power small lights and circuitry if it comes into contact with a power input. This charge grows in power when it is in distress. SCP-6537 as demonstrated the ability to use electricity as a projectile, to varying degrees of power. It commonly uses this ability to shock individuals it finds to be irritating or aggressive.
Addendum 6537.1: Initial Discovery
Reports of an alien-like entity being sighted were received from an undercover agent in ██████, Virginia. A small team of 4 agents were dispatched to the area to investigate. After searching a wooded area near an old abandoned home, Agent 3 reported seeing something unusual in the forest, claiming it was a robed figure, kneeling on the grass and tending to a flower. Agent 3 approached the figure, and after an initial shock from seeing SCP-6537's quite literal blank face, started to panic, screaming about a voice, begging it to stop. Soon after the arrival of the other agents, SCP-6537 fled the area, and Agent 2 called for backup, while Agents 1 and 4 pursued SCP-6537. Agent 4 fired a sedative at SCP-6537, which struck it in the back of the head, and very quickly fell unconscious.
After the extraction team recovered SCP-6537, and the now unresponsive agent, SCP-6537 was noted to have woken up during transport, and after initial attempts to break free, it gave up, seeming to have realized there was no way of escape on its own. During its transition to an interrogation room for possible interview, it was hesitant, but cooperative.
Interviewed: SCP-6537
Interviewer: Dr. Samuel ██████
Foreword: Initial interview with SCP object. Dr. Samuel initially denied the request for him to interview subject, due to his assumption that it couldn't even speak, but after being told the events of its initial capture, and how he was the only researcher in the area with low enough clearance to not know anything the subject could potentially learn from its assumed "connections", while also having enough experience to not panic from such a thing, agreed to the interview.
<Begin Log, 2:15 PM, September 7th, 20██, one day after initial containment.>
Dr. Samuel: Interview 6537-1 beginning. SCP-6537, I am Dr. Samuel. As our reports indicate, you allegedly "connected" to an agent during your initial securing by the Foundation, and caused a major panic in said agent. Care to explain yourself?
SCP-6537: <Silence, appox. 30 seconds>
Dr. Samuel: As I expected. SCP-6537, are there any ways for you to communicate with us without this, connection?
SCP-6537: <Subject shakes its head, indicating "no">
Dr. Samuel: Well, clearly you understand our English, yes?
SCP-6537: <Subject nods>
Dr. Samuel: So, why aren't you speaking, or anything?
SCP-6537: <Silence for another 30 seconds. After this silence, Dr. Samuel responds to seemingly nothing.>
Dr. Samuel: Yes, I can do that. <From this point forward in the interview, Samuel starts writing responses from SCP-6537.>
SCP-6537: I'm sorry for what happened to your, agent was it? I didn't mean to cause any panic… Are they okay?
Dr. Samuel: That's none of your concern right now. Would you care to explain what exactly you said to the agent?
SCP-6537: Of course, I just, spoke my native language. I don't recall ever seeing, whatever you are, before, but I didn't know my language would have that effect.
Dr. Samuel: That's all you did?
SCP-6537: Yes, then when I heard more coming, I ran. I was afraid.
Dr. Samuel: Well, you don't need to be afraid anymore, as long as you listen to what we tell you, and you answer our questions, okay?
SCP-6537: Okay…
Dr. Samuel: You mentioned not recalling ever seeing us, was that in reference to our group?
SCP-6537: I was referring to your species.
Dr. Samuel: Uh-huh, and do you mind explaining how you, saw us? You clearly don't have eyes.
SCP-6537: When I connect to anything like this, I can see their shape. Nothing too detailed, but, enough to tell you're new to me.
Dr. Samuel: Very well then. I believe this interview can be concluded for now. You seem harmless enough, but you will be under strict watch and containment until we understand exactly what you are, understand?
SCP-6537: Yes, doctor. I'll help you if it means I can go back home.
Dr. Samuel: Thank you.
<End Log, 2:29 PM>
Closing Statement: This entity doesn't seem malicious in any way, but I'm marking it as Euclid until we know what it can do. We'll get a temporary cell set up at Site-██ for testing.
While this interview took place, a team searching the area SCP-6537 was found in brought back what seemed to be a staff with a moon fixated on top of it. Currently assumed to belong to SCP-6537, and has been assigned the designation SCP-6537-S.
After this interview, Dr. Samuel reported feeling a lot more relaxed than he was before the interview. He noted that he felt immediately relaxed when he sat down across from SCP-6537 as well.
