SCP-XXXX elements attacking tissue, as shown under a microscope.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is to be kept under a strong electromagnetic field of at least 16 Gs. The floodlights in SCP-XXXX's containment area must be kept on, and never, on any circumstances, turned off. SCP-XXXX is to be monitored at all times, and only by class-C personnel. All personnel are prohibited from entering the containment area of SCP-XXXX except by the express permission of a class-A. Personnel entering the containment area are required to eat a full meal beforehand, and must wear specialized protective armor. Under no circumstances should personnel attempt to eat, pick up, or touch SCP-XXXX without first being instructed to do so by class-A personnel. All personnel that do this must be immediately quarantined. Upon exiting the containment of SCP-XXXX, all personnel must pass through the decontamination chamber to eradicate any rogue elements of SCP-XXXX, before exiting containment. SCP-XXXX is to be given 1 goat weighing at least 175 kg every month, so that it may sustain itself.

Description:

SCP-XXXX is a sentient predator that attempts to trick victims into consuming it.
SCP-XXXX consists of thousands of minuscule spider-like creatures that seem to work in synchronization. SCP-XXXX appears to have the ability to shapeshift, and appears as food that the victim is craving, should he/she be require sustenance. If the victim does not require sustenance, then SCP-XXXX elements may attempt to penetrate the skin of the victim. The victim may have an urge to eat SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX has been recorded to let off pleasant odors to make its subjects hungry, but has not been recorded attempting to compromise brainwaves of its subjects or possess the ability to control them. If ingested, SCP-XXXX will begin consuming the victim from the inside out. If SCP-XXXX enters through the skin, the victim has a higher chance to survive the ordeal. SCP-XXXX is unlikely to enter through the skin, however, as it requires more energy and is less effective.

There are no effective treatments for SCP-XXXX infection if consumed. The stages of infection are listed as follows:

If consumed by the by victim:

Stage 1:

5 minutes after consumption, the victim experiences minor stomach pain, but otherwise feels normal.

Stage 2:

15 minutes after consumption, the victim suffers from extreme stomach pain and nausea, but cannot vomit. The victim is now sickly and appears to have the symptoms of severe food poisoning.

Stage 3:

2 hours after consumption, the victim's stomach is so damaged that it can no longer digest food. The victim is weak now and can no longer stand up as their muscles and major organs are heavily damaged. SCP-XXXX begins to move on to other vital organs inside the victim.

Stage 4:

8 hours after consumption, the victim suffers from severe internal bleeding, organ failure, in some cases, and delerium. The victim's stomach is completely disintegrated, and other organs will begin to fail as the digestive tract is attacked by SCP-XXXX. The victim is very unlikely to survive this stage.

Stage 5:

10 hours after consumption, the victim is now dead, and most of their internal organs are now missing. SCP-XXXX elements now move on to the bones, and soon, nothing is left behind except inorganic objects such as pacemakers and other metal implants. SCP-XXXX consumes every piece of organic matter that a human has in them.

If SCP-XXXX enters through the skin:

Stage 1:

After 6 hours of infection, the victim will begin to have muscle cramps all over their body, similar to influenza. They may begin to feel a tickling sensation as well, and in some cases, feel SCP-XXXX crawling around under their skin. If personnel experience this after visiting SCP-XXXX, they are to be immediately be quarantined in a 26 Gs electromagnetic room. This will slow down and weaken SCP-XXXX, giving the victim's body a chance to mount an immune response against SCP-XXXX elements. This gives the person a 75% of survival.

Stage 2:

If not treated by the EMR (Electromagnetic room) before 6 hours, after 1 day, the victim will have much more severe muscle cramps. The victim can still be treated at this stage, but they will now only have a 66% chance of survival.

Stage 3:

If the victim is still untreated, and does not recover, after 1 day and 2 hours, they will begin to have difficulty breathing, and will not be able to move any of their limbs. EMR treatment at this point will only yield a 47% chance of survival. The victim may experience severe delerium at this point as well.

Stage 4:
After 5 days, the victim now suffers from severe internal bleeding as their organs and major blood vessels are ruptured. They have very little chance of surviving at this point, although many victims may recover before they reach this stage.

Stage 5:
The victim is now dead, and SCP-XXXX consumes the remains of the corpse.

Discovery of SCP-XXXX:
SCP-XXXX was discovered in a small household located in the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona. All family members who had visited there to see family were missing, including Josephine ██████, Josh ██████, and their grandparents, Maria ██████ and Jack ██████. A young teenager, aged 16, was found in the house, sitting near SCP-XXXX. He told officials his name was Trevor. Trevor, who claimed to be the son of Josephine and Josh, appeared completely healthy even though he claimed to have been infected by SCP-XXXX.

The Following is an interview with Dr. Martin and Trevor ██████:

Dr. Martin: "Hello, Trevor. I'm sure you're wondering why we brought you here. The foundation would like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind."

Trevor: "Evening, Doctor."

Dr. Martin: "So, will you answer our questions?"

Trevor: "I know what the foundation wants. The Ymtari sure are interesting, aren't they Doctor?"

Dr. Martin: "The Ymtari?"

Trevor: "You know what the Ymtari are. Or rather, they know what you are." He chuckles.

Dr. Martin: "What does that mean?"

Trevor: "So, what questions does the foundation have for me, Doctor?"

Dr. Martin: "Well…." Dr. █████ scratches his arm as if trying to get at an itch.
"First of all, we want to know how you cured yourself of SCP-XXXX."

Trevor: "I knew you were going to ask that. Well, lets just say, it just sort of…happened."

Dr. Martin: "So your body cured itself?"

Trevor: "I guess you could say that."

Dr. Martin : "Alright, next question." He notes Trevor's response on his clipboard.

Dr. Martin : "Describe what happened to your family before you were acquired by the Foundation." He scratches the same arm again.

Trevor: "It's kind of a long story. You sure?"

Dr. Martin: "Take all the time you need, kid."

Trevor: "Ok lets see…where should I start?" He taps his chin, thinking for a moment. "Ah yes, well, I was going to visit my grandparents in Phoenix. So we drive all the way there. We knock on the door, and there is no answer. We wait about 30 minutes. Still no answer. We knew my grandma was off at my Aunt's house and she won't be home for a week, but Grandpa was supposed to be in the house. We call our Aunt and she says she might have forgotten to tell Grandpa that we were coming, so he could be out at a bar or something. She tells us that there is a spare key under the door mat. So then we enter the house, but the house seems as if its been vacated for several days, rather than a few hours-."

Dr. Martin: "Ok kid, just get to the point." The doctor interrupts and waves him off, as if annoyed. Then he scratches his arm again.

Trevor: "…So we never find grandpa inside, and that gives us a little bit of relief since we know he didn't die of a heart attack or something. But he never comes home. Anyways, while we are waiting on him, we find this delicious looking food on the table….Turns out though, it wasn't really food."] He pauses. ["I was quite skeptical of this food, and didn't touch any of it, questioning how long it had been out, even though it looked fresh. And sure enough, after about 5 minutes, my parents started feeling sick. Within 15, they were very sick. Then eventually, they died." Trevor says this with little emotion.

Dr. Martin: "And you, Trevor?"

Trevor: "Well, after they died….I started feeling a bit…itchy. Then I developed the same symptoms as them. Then the symptoms stopped."

Dr. Martin: "Interesting…."

Dr. Martin: "Tell me, Trevor, what are the Ymtari?"

Trevor: "Oh, those little spider creatures. nasty things. Killed my entire family, as a matter of fact."

Dr. Martin: "It doesn't seem like you were that close to your family, Trevor." He eyes Trevor suspiciously.

Trevor: "What do you mean, Doctor?"

Dr. Martin: "Nothing. You are free to return to your cell." He waves Trevor off while trying to clear his thoughts.
Trevor exits the interview room.

<End Log, [██,██,██]>

The next day Dr. █████ reported feeling ill, with symptoms similar to influenza. Then, strangely, 3 days later, he denied this.
