Blueclipsa

Item: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a soundproof safe at all times, and the safe is to be contained in a similarly soundproofed room approximately 15 x 15 x 10 meters. If SCP-XXXX must be removed from said safe, handlers are to be provided with soundproofed earmuffs.
In the event that an individual hears the sound produced by SCP-XXXX, all unaffected personnel must retreat to approximately 10 meters away, and an armed squad consisting of no less than three (3) members will be assembled to restrain the affected individual until such time as they are no longer affected.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a fire alarm created by the [BLACK] Company. The object is physically identical to other battery-operated fire alarms from the same year, with the exception that it appears to have no required power source. At regular, 5-minute intervals, the object will produce a shrill sound consistent with that of low battery sounds from similar alarms, though the anomalous properties of the sound produced by SCP-XXXX are only effective within 8 meters in any direction.
Upon hearing the sound produced by SCP-XXXX, individuals (hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 until this state has ended) are rendered completely unconscious for approximately 30 seconds. Upon regaining consciousness, SCP-XXXX-1 instances are extremely hostile and exceedingly violent toward anything within 8 meters. SCP-XXXX-1 loses all rational thought and cognitive ability for a period of time ranging between 3-7 days.
After regaining normal cognitive ability, most affected individuals appear to be extremely sensitive to loud noises, and in most reported cases have extreme panic attacks when hearing a standard fire alarm beep for up to 3 years following the event.

When dealing with personnel affected by SCP-XXXX, an armed squad is necessary. Any and all attempts should be made to safely restrain the affected individual, though in the event that other personnel are put into danger by SCP-XXXX-1, the instance should be terminated.
