object class: euclid
item number: idk
special containment procedures: the group of six islands in the mid pacific and 30 miles of ocean around it have been sectioned off from the public, under the premise of heavy volcanic activity. this area is known as site 12-k. cases of scp-xxx outside of their designated range, will be captured and returned. if subject becomes agressive it will be neutralized.
foundation personnel stationed on the islands, will report back by telecommunication except in extreme circumstance. personnel returning from the island will be picked up by ship manned by d-class personnel in complete hazmat suits. they will then be placed in quarantine until the glowing residue excreted by scp-xxx, is entirely removed from person.
description: scp-xxx are a species of spider in the class Dolomedes. it has been officially classified as Dolomedes Okeanó although public documents on the species refrain from mentioning any anomalous traits. scp-xxx is a abnormally large species of spider, females growing abdomens as long as two feet, and legs have been recorded to be four feet and four inches. the females are generally larger then the males and have a silvery shimmer which gets exaggerated when hunting underwater. males and females both are able to stay underwater with the help of fine, hydrophobic, hairs all over its body. the males are usually black or dark grey with blue streaks, and do not excrete the unknown silver slime. the use for this substance is still unknown but has been theorized to aid in luring fish toward it underwater. this substance is highly toxic to humans and nearly impossible to get off with normal means. personnel stationed on the islands are allowed to do research as they please with caution. scp-xxx has been documented eating humans if given the opportunity. the females of scp-xxx are extremely territorial of nests, and can move of speeds over 60 miles per hour when enraged. these creatures will eat anything they can catch. they have been documented climbing up trees and jumping around 25 feet into the air, and taking down bird much larger then it. although they generally use their shimmering blue and silver to attract fish to eat. although males are relatively harmless, they will move their legs in a way that can be hypnotizing to most humans. the Dolomedes Okeanó will then be able to completely control their subject until the subject dies. the males will often use this to please females assumed to be a mating tactic. these creatures mate for life and if separated from its mate by more then 5 miles, it will become violent.
log from researcher j veery, head of team rosella, currently stationed on the islands.
