Special Containment Procedures: As SCP-XXXX-01 is uncontainable due to its scale, containment protocols are to focus on information suppression. Applied Task Force Gamma-18 "Dante's Peak" has been assigned to monitor Bondar Events and log all 'displacement' locations. Additionally, selected agents from Mobile Task Force Theta-90 "Angle Grinders" will assist in locating SCP-XXXX-01 and implementing coverup procedures.

SCP-XXXX-02 is to be monitored by ATF Gamma-18 but not to be harmed under any circumstances. Any requests made by SCP-XXXX-02 is to be reviewed by ATF Gamma-18 lead agents or researchers. SCP-XXXX-02 is not allowed to assist in the research of itself or SCP-XXXX-01 SCP-XXXX-02 is allowed to assist in research but should it hinder or halt research, SCP-XXXX-02 is to have its items revoked and not allowed to assist either ATF Gamma-18 in security or research into itself until such time has passed, determined at lead agent's discretion.

If any unauthorized individuals access SCP-XXXX-01, ATF Gamma-18 is to apprehend the person(s) for questioning. Following approval for release, amnestics will be administered at the discretion of ATF Gamma-18 personnel

In the event of critical public exposure, MTF Gamma-5 "Red Herrings" will initiate 'DEEP FREEZE' lockdown protocols and mass-distribute gaseous Class-B amnestics.

Description: SCP-XXXX consists of two entities, SCP-XXXX-01 and SCP-XXXX-02.
SCP-XXXX-01 is a mountain with an estimated height of 6.9 kilometres above sea level. SCP-XXXX-01 has a transitional phase known as a Bondar Event.

A Bondar Event is when SCP-XXXX-01 becomes active. During this phase, storm clouds will manifest around the summit of SCP-XXXX-01, preceding an anomalous dislocation often referred to by ATF Gamma-18 personnel as 'shifting.'

According to reports made by MTF Theta-90, SCP-XXXX-01 can phase with people within the area. However, exposure to SCP-XXXX-01's Bondar Event has shown to lead to cases of paranoia and schizophrenia. All electrical equipment has shown to fail 85-90% in all cases due to a Bondar Event.

SCP-XXXX-02 is an adult male of African-Canadian descent, 180cm tall, weighing 88 Kg. SCP-XXXX-02 is in a healthy state physically and mentally with extensive knowledge of SCP-XXXX-01 geographically. SCP-XXXX-02 has not shown adverse health effects from dislocation during Bondar events.

SCP-XXXX-02 uniform has been dated to be from the 1900s. It claims that it has been around for six years assigned to SCP-XXXX-01. Any information regarding SCP-XXXX-02 in both time periods are currently under investigation.

SCP-XXXX-02 has the anomalous ability to shift when SCP-XXXX-01 shifts. How SCP-XXXX-02 is able to know when SCP-XXXX-01 is about to phase shift (See Addendum-XXXX-03 for more detail). If SCP-XXXX-02 shifts when away from SCP-XXXX-01 during a Bondar event, it would appear back at the base of SCP-XXXX-01. It has been observed that this only occurs when its off SCP-XXXX-01's area.

Addendum-XXXX-01, Discovery: SCP-XXXX was brought to the Foundation's attention when a group of climbers were reported missing in the mountains in Canada. According to the guides of the area and evidence in the missing climbers' houses, the climbers discovered some new mountain and wished to climb it. When MTF Theta-90 went to investigate, SCP-XXXX wasn't there.

After several weeks of investigating the area, SCP-XXXX-01 appeared before Theta-90. Some of the agents were unfortunately inside the area and are presumed dead. Once Foundation personal established a temporary site for analysis, SCP-XXXX-02 made itself known to the Foundation with the statement that SCP-XXXX-01 is going to move. Within an hour, SCP-XXXX-01 shifted to a new location.

Foreword: When SCP-XXXX-01 re-appeared at the first contact point, SCP-XXXX-02 came down from SCP-XXXX-01 carrying a tent filled with frozen bodies. SCP-XXXX-02 was brought in for interrogation. Agent Horwitz is the one that brought in SCP-XXXX-02 for interrogation.

Agent Horwitz: Good evening sir. I'm Agent Horwitz from the unit known as the Secret Canadian Police, we were doing some investigation into your deployment on the mountain when it suddenly appeared.

SCP-XXXX-02: Oh yes, I remember you. you're a bit more equipped for a secret police force.

Horwitz: Do forgive us but the last time I checked, mountains don't move from one to another.

SCP-XXXX-02: Touche.

Horwitz: Now, for the purposes of record keeping, please state your name and rank for us.

SCP-XXXX-02: Of course. The name's Corporal Adam Palmer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I've been serving on this mountain for… (SCP-XXXX-02 remains quiet for 12 seconds.) probably six years? It's hard to remember when you're on the mountain.

Horwitz: Tell me about the mountain.

SCP-XXXX-02: Well, what do you want to know?

Horwitz: For starters, my organization would like to know why the mountain is able to do what it does. If you can.

SCP-XXXX-02: Oh. Well, I'm afraid that the best I can do is tell you that the mountain is able to move to a whole new place. I've been to places like China and Russia all the time, I've got pictures to prove it.

Horwitz: I'll be sure to take photocopies of them when we're done here but for now, we're getting off topic. Do you know why the mountain is able to do this move?

SCP-XXXX-02: I'm sorry sir but that's all I can say. I was assigned to this mountain by the RCMP to look after the mountain. I explored for the first two years, seeing what I can do to understand the mountain but I gave up when nothing came up for me.

Horwitz: So you spent the last six years not working out why the mountain moved?

SCP-XXXX-02: Nope. I've been making sure the mountain was safe from trespassers.

Horwitz: Well, that about wraps up our preliminary interview for now. I'm sure my employers would want to discuss more with you in due time but for now, we need to do some fact checking.

SCP-XXXX-02: Can I ask just one more question?

Horwitz: Sure.

SCP-XXXX-02: What do you actually want from this mountain?

Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX-02 has so far delayed with giving out information with regards to SCP-XXXX-01's topography. It should be noted that SCP-XXXX-02's background checks with RCMP do not correlate with the RCMP records. It should also be stated that RCMP doesn't have any records in regards to SCP-XXXX-01. Any photographs that were captured by SCP-XXXX-02 were photocopied and handed back to the entity.

Foreword: This is interview is set after MTF Theta-90 sent in a small team, consisting of four scientists and three agents along with SCP-XXXX-02. Exploration Logs are detailed in Addendum-XXXX-03. Any blocked out texts can be read if you hover over them. (Warning: if you do not have the access to look at them, a cognitohazard will be sent to your screen and an agent will be sent to dispose of you.)

Agent Horwitz: So Agent Musoko, you were about to explain what happened at the start.

Agent Musoko: Yes. What happened at the start of our exploration was standard stuff. We set up our gear, prepared any supplies we may need for five months and got SCP-XXXX-02 to take us to a good camping spot for us to set up our equipment.

Horwitz: So everything was going okay? No equipment loss or incorrect data?

Musoko: (pauses for five seconds) Yes.

Horwitz: You hesitated there.

Musoko: The hume levels were all stable and there was nothing irregular about SCP-XXXX-01. We've been in this job for way too long to know that if everything is normal then something isn't.

Horwitz: Of course. So what was you're next course of action?

Musoko: So, the expedition leader, eggheads and SCP-XXXX-02 got together to discuss what our plan is. Val and I were on patrol duty in case of any angry critters got nearby or if anything changed when everyone was busy.

Horwitz: From the logs we received from SCP-XXXX-02, I take it that some of you went to explore SCP-XXXX-01.

Musoko: Yes. The exploration force consisted of our camp leader, agent Val, a scientist and SCP-XXXX-02. I and three other scientists were to remain at the camp in case we need to contact Foundation or contact the team in case of an emergency.

Horwitz: That's understandable.

Musoko: That's what I thought as well. We brought enough of those Reality Anchors for all of us so the shifting wasn't a concern for us when they began their trip. The one thing we didn't account for was the storm.

Horwitz: According to the last report of Researcher Charlie Dove, he reports that the machines were not recording the storm. Can you elaborate on this?

Musoko: We didn't understand why the storm wasn't picking up on our sensors. Bearing in mind this was day 4, we double checked the equipment and the statistics were on the usual side of reality. This storm was messing with our sensors. I believe that one Researcher said that, by all of the machine's data, the storm is a natural event.

Horwitz: You believe different?

Musoko: Of course I do! If anything, I'd say the mountain didn't want us on there! It might even be SCP-XXXX-02 for all I know! The storm knocked out all communications to anyone outside of the area. One of the eggheads checked our SRAs to ensure they haven't been knocked out by this storm. Turns out that they are also affected by the storm.

Horwitz: Were all of your SRA turned on?

Musoko: Only the scientists were checked, didn't even bother with mine. That's when the Bondar Event occurred.

Horwitz: What happened?

Musoko: My SRA kicked in the moment we shifted. The storm, one Researcher said after we shifted, must have been a natural klaxon for us to leave SCP-XXXX-01. We didn't know where we were and I didn't want to know. One Researcher was knocked out, the other two were fine. For a month, we were stuck on SCP-XXXX-01. Worse, the exploration team we sent up didn't come back.

Horwitz: So what happened next?

Musoko: All of a sudden, we were under fire. Training instincts kicked in and scanned the area for our attackers. To my surprise, it was SCP-XXXX-02. It came back down the mountain and started firing on us with that pistol of his. The thing was that its uniform looked cleaner. Almost like it was day one for it.

Horwitz: We have no record of SCP-XXXX-02 going on a shooting rampage. Would you be able to confirm that it was the same entity?

Musoko: That's the thing. After I brought it down and took it back to camp, the scientists were able to tell that this SCP-XXXX-02 was younger. By about six or so years, which might explain why it was so sloppy with its gun.

Horwitz: I see. We could be dealing with something else entirely. So what happened next?

Musoko: SCP-XXXX-01 shifted again after that month. When we got back to Canada, we made our way back down SCP-XXXX-01 and reported to the nearest Foundation site. Afterwards, we were ordered to the base of SCP-XXXX-01 to wait for the rest of Theta-90. Sure enough, SCP-XXXX-02 brought down everyone from the mountain. Their mentality though… They were all gibbering and screaming randomly. Whatever happened up there, it affected them badly.

Closing Statement: See Addendum-XXXX-03 for SCP-XXXX-02's accounts of this expedition. All personnel from Theta-90 have been admitted to full-time medical care. Consideration for a new MTF to handle SCP-XXXX for both exploration and suppression of information in the public is ongoing.

Addendum-XXXX-03: Exploration log This is the only log of the exploration team that went further up into SCP-XXXX-01. This is the journal of SCP-XXXX-02, detailing what happened before, during and after. When SCP-XXXX-02 was questioned about the Journal, it simply stated that "it helped with the constant shifting".

The SCPF expedition: Part 1 Date: ██/██/20██

So today is the day that the fellas from the SCP Foundation want to go further up the mountain - Sorry, "SCP-XXXX-01" - I've warned them time and time again that the mountain SCP-XXXX-01 must be left alone. I have been stationed here for six or so years now and I have seen people attempt to climb this mountain. Every single time I see them go up and come back down, they have mountain fever.

I don't want to be the one who is going to convict these young men and women to their deaths but they insisted that this was for science! I don't understand the science talk from the researchers but if it means I can get off the mountain then so be it. It's not my fault that they die.

I warned them to leave as much electrical equipment as possible. It would improve their chances of survival on SCP-XXXX-01. They just laughed at me! Don't bother listening to the man that is stuck on the mountain for several years, looking after it!

They claim the Foundation needed to record as much data as possible so that means taking their gear with them. I left them alone for a bit, making sure I was prepared for this "expedition" as best as I can. I made sure my service weapons were clean and loaded, the ammo I need for them is secured in my backpack. I hope to whatever beings that are out there would help these deluded fools that nothing is worth their life.

__ The SCPF Expedition: part 2__ Date: ██/██/20██

Day 8 on the mountain. The agents are starting to act up now. Not professional now. I fear for my life that these folks are taking on the mountain madness. I heard what they called me though. Something called an SCP.

I fear for my life now that they might know. Why else would they call me that?

The lead agent, Darren, I believe, started screaming when the transition ended. Sorry, the Bondar event. Named after that lady that went to space or something. I never really cared for that sort of thing but I respect the lady for what she did, doing something impossible like that.

Look who's talking though.

When we came out, everyone looks normal. No sign of the madness in them or anything, except for Darren. Sonofagun started claiming that the source of the Mountain's power is at the top and we have to keep going. I said no. If we go any higher then we could be trapped on it and endanger everyone. They all didn't take me seriously, saying that they dealt with this kind of thing before and that I should leave it to them. It was obviously because I'm considered an anomaly. I don't really know how the Foundation works in America but when in Canada, people should work together as equal and not have such a divide.

We are going to continue up the mountain. Hopefully, if there is anyone on this team that respects logic, they'll see it and walk down the mountain before the madness takes over.

Hopefully, we don't encounter another one of… I don't want to think about it.

ATF Gamma-18 lead Agent's notes - From the sounds of it, SCP-XXXX-02 fears what we might do to it if we discover whatever it is it's trying to hide. We have reassured it many times that the SCP Foundation will not harm it, only that we are scientists looking for answers to the unsolvable. It didn't like that answer and went back to SCP-XXXX-01 for reasons unknown.

Day 10. I can see the madness starting to crawl into their minds now.

As we continued to walk up the mountain, Darren started to scream again. He was losing it and the others just ignored him. I tried to help and the sonofagun just bit me! The other agents pulled out their weapons and trained them on their target.

Me.

I shouted at them to drop their guns. I was trying to help the man and they all instantly got itchy with their trigger fingers. I ducked behind some trees and pulled out my trusty Smith & Wesson 5946, checked to see if it was loaded.

I wasn't trained to have a gunfight against three well-trained agents, let alone three madmen. I was trained to incapacitate them though. With that in mind, I shot at Darren in the leg and advanced behind a log. I was being shot at by them, their weapons silent as the forest around me. Before I realised it, I was struck behind the head by one of the agents.

I woke up much later. All of them were watching me, some with their weapons on their chest. I tried to move but then saw I was handcuffed to the holes in the wall (I can only assume it was them making the damages.).

This may be the last time I write for a good while. They are starting to rise from their sleep.

I just hope that I get out of these shackles before it appears.

The Headaches go on Date: ██/██/20██

Day…12. I don't know how long the headaches have been coming now. I needed medical attention.

I watched as Darren received his medical attention. I'm fairly sure that the Foundation doesn't like the Canadian folks. Either that or these fellas are racist. Either way, I'm not going to get medical attention anytime soon from that lady. Val I think her name was.

Overheard them talking as well. Val was speaking with Darren about me and other "Anomalies" like me. Saying that "keeping it alive is just not worth the hassle. It wants food and water, which we don't have." Darren would then say something about how "The Ethics Committee" wouldn't even know I exist if I suddenly disappeared. "Another incident on the mountain and one number in the statistics."

Now, I'm thankful for these headaches. I've always believed that they were connected to the mountain's "anomalous abilities." If I time everything right, I can sneak on out of here with no injuries to these broken men and women.

My daring escape! Date: ██/██/20██

So today is the day that the madmen were asleep when the Mountain moved.

I slipped out of my cuffs and moved towards the mouth of the cave we've been holed up in. These guys dragged me up further than I ever got. I never had the proper gear to get up here because of the effect the Mountain did to such equipment.

I saw my gear next to Darren. He was the first to be infected so I had to be careful. He could wake up at any moment. I grabbed my belt and bags from him but my S&W was on his person, mainly on his chest.

I grabbed a hold of it and I was pulling it towards me when his hand shot out and tried to yank it off of me. We threw ourselves outside and fought for the weapon. I punched and kicked him, using my weight to my advantage. He was using his muscle memory but that was all he was relying on.

I gave a few swift kicks and he fell down. I retrieved my weapon and trained it on him. The others all woke up and started to rush over to us. I looked over to see if they had their weapons when Darren charged me.

I shot him. Through the chest. I feel remorse and sadness because I had no choice. I could have adopted what our Japanese brethren do and do some close combat instead of firing. I could have shown more force and focus, shoot the other leg but no. A man is dead and that's on my mind till I die.
Of course, I killed plenty of them but that was different. These SCP Foundation guys were not monsters. But they are.

I turned and fired another shot, this time at a pine tree. I kept my distance and ordered these agents back down the mountain, dragging Darren with me down the mountain.

When we got back, I was not met with help or congratulations but instead a wall of guns. Turns out that an agent of the expedition encountered one of them. I couldn't believe it. I was scared. I was dragged into some sort of office and met with the leading agents that would attempt to arrest me. I was interrogated for many hours before I was realised back on the mountain with a new group.

This time this group is to examine me. Watch what I do or say. I felt like an animal in a zoo.

ATF Gamma-18 Lead agent's notes: SCP-XXXX-02 has tried numerous times to escape us. Trying to hide from us whenever it got the chance. It has succeeded many times after a shift but is found afterwards.

The following was found at the front of the notebook when the Foundation took it away from SCP-XXXX-02. After reading this, O5 Council has updated ATF Gamma-18's orders to locate, interrogate and contain this third anomaly.

My concerns…

I was assigned to this mountain by one of my superiors. I don't know what it was or who it was but I was ordered to look after this… rock. I stayed in a watchtower and enjoyed a nice cup of tea.

That was when my whole world changed.

Literally.

I was in Russia. I know because when I came out, I saw a sign written in Russian. I couldn't believe it. I rushed back into my cabin to hide and contact the RCMP but alas, no contact.

A few days later. I walked around the mountain. Trying to discover what would have caused this.

That was when I encountered… it.

I raised my S&W to demand what it was but it shot at me first. I fired at it. Clean shot into its left leg.

I rushed up to it to interrogate it but… (It should be noted that there appears to be some slight water damage to the paper.) I froze up. I was staring down at it, pistol held in my hands.

It looked up.

I fired. And I regretted it.

I saw into its eyes. Those eyes… I will have that image burned into my mind forever.

I shot me.

I mean, I shot what looked like me. In-between the eyes. I saw my deceased body lying in the snow. I couldn't believe it but then again, I'm in Russia.

I searched its belongings. Maybe there was an ID or something to help prove that this wasn't me.

I found an S&W. An exact copy of mine. I also looked into its wallet. Same face, name and driver's number as mine.

What's worse is that I found a journal. One that was exactly like mine. But this one had one significant difference.

It notes that this one also encountered others like me… it. How it killed every single one. In each graphic detail.

Even when I write this down in my journal, I feel like that I'm not me. AM I ME?!? Did I do something when I stepped on the mountain?

As I read further and further into this, the Mountain shifted again.

When the Mountain shifted, I walked around the mountain.

It was calming, to say the least. I disposed of my the corpse. It was damaging, to say the least. I couldn't describe how it felt. Burying something that looked like me…

As I kept going, I saw a camp. I went to explore and I saw more bodies. Not of me but of some campers that wanted to camp on a mountain. Judging from the recent fire, they must have been here for not more than a few days.

I saw a crazy man behind the tents. He looked at me with fear in his eyes, screaming at me in his Russian tongue. To this day, I wish I knew what he was saying to me. Perhaps he saw the… thing that I shot the other day. If he did see the thing, did I it causes him to go mad? Why have I not suffered the same fate as this scared man?

In any case, I tried to save him. I placed him in handcuffs and brought him to the roadside. Sadly, I discovered I'm still in Russia. I hailed a driver who was quite helpful and he took us to the nearest hospital. I couldn't understand a word their saying but they have taken him in. I felt like I have done my job well.

GODDAMN MOTHER RUSSIANS!

I freaking hate this place…

So, after I helped that man and returned to the mountain, hoping I escape from Russia in one piece, some trucks came up the road.

I went outside to talk to these people. Surprisingly, they spoke in fluent English (either that or the Mountain was gifting me with the ability to understand others. I don't know if that is scary or not) and they wanted to see a new mountain which appeared.

I said that I can help. I asked them who they were, to which they replied that their from some sort of Division "P". I didn't press further as these guys looked like they would shoot me in a heartbeat. I instead brought them in and poured out some hot chocolate and some biscuits for them. They told me what they were about.

They said they were trying to understand the impossible. I couldn't really blame them. After all, the mountain had the ability to move in weird ways. I told them all I could (except for the thing) and gave them a quick hike around the base of the mountain. I started experiencing headaches, a mild but painful sensation.

That's when they shot me.

Right in my leg. I just crumpled before them. All of them had their weapons on me, one of them (the leader I assume) stepped forth and placed a revolver in my mouth. He just said "Russia will thank us for what we have done. Soon, we will discover what makes you tick and then we will break you. Then we will break this mountain to see what we could do," he laughed at me.

Suddenly I was taken on board their trucks. They brought me to some bunker not far from the mountain. I sat handcuffed to a chair for an hour before their general was brought in before me. He looked me in the eyes and said that I was doing Russia a great service.

I haven't told them everything.

I suddenly reappeared in my mountain home. I was out of my handcuffs but I had none of my service items on me. I felt naked.

I walked outside and I saw about ten men standing before me. Each of them fully equipped to take on a small force. But some of them were acting like that crazy Russian from the camp. They all saw me, some of them taking defensive positions while the crazy ones just curled into a ball and started to cry.

I took cover and they fired on me. Sure enough, I thought I was dead.

That's when it appeared.

It walked in and fired on some of them. They went down like timber in the woods. When the shooting finally stopped. The thing walked over to me. It extended it's hand down to me, I reached out and grabbed it.

I knew what it was and I put it down. With a knife from those Russians left in my home.

I stabbed it through the heart. Ten times. Just to be sure, I stabbed him another ten times.

I looked down at him. I saw my face dead with shock at the betrayal. I searched its belongings and sure enough, I saw the same notebook and ID. The notebook wasn't the same as the last one. This one was the same as… well as mine prior to my arrival to the mountain.

What did this mean? Did I kill the original? Did I take his place? What am I?

Am I something that shouldn't be here?

I took its weapons, ammo and anything to identify this corpse.

If I was like these things… No. No, I'm me. I know I'm me. I cannot afford anyone to discover this hideous truth. I will climb to the top as soon as I can get something to help. Perhaps at the top of this mountain, the answers are there…

For now, I must follow my orders. To protect this mountain from threats both on the outside and in. Although I might have to protect myself a bit more, seeing that if I'm like these things, they won't hesitate to fire a shot on me.
